I adore this location. I come here frequently and nearly all of them are super friendly. It’s always nice to see friendly faces when you get your lunch or snack and they never disappoint to make me smile. I confess that my jokes aren’t great, but they laugh with me. Sabrina, Nelson, alexi, matin, Emily, Reuben, Jason and the rest are just all so fantastic and friendly. My food is always great and they are always efficient and quick! Thanks guys!

There are better chipotles… I feel like they never listen when I ask for a SALAD or for the vinaigrette. The guacamole was browner today and didn’t taste right. I lost my appetite. I saw the server scoop out the brown parts and toss it, instead of bring out a new batch. I really do hate food waste, but making a new batch would definitely help chipotle’s bad reputation right now… Too bad it’s all over my salad and I can’t avoid eating it. Not going to go back for a while :/

I always come here but this past week has been terrible. Taylor with the blue hair was extremely rude and was yelling so loud to customers that it was making everyone in line uncomfortable and then I order the same thing as always the kids meal with a larger quesadilla for $ 2 extra. She told me I can’t substitute a small quesadilla for a large one. I said even though I’m paying the difference? She said yep very rudely. I ended up just getting the kids size because at that point I had already waisted 15 minutes out of my lunch break but I highly doubt I will be going back to this chipotle! I love the food but the customer service at this location should get ZERO stars.

I live within the strip mall complex at Costa Verde Towers and am a regular customer. Service and food are typically superb but this particular store employs the worst Chipotle employee I’ve ever encountered. His name is Liam and it’s pretty clear he hates his job. Was just there at around 5pm on 2015-11-04 and he was incredibly rude to every single customer he dealt with. I don’t plan to purchase food from this location on nights when this joker is working and I suspect many other regulars feel the same. Hopefully, management will fire his a** before he single-handedly runs this store into the ground. Maybe he’d have better luck working at a Taco Bell, perhaps in some sort of «behind the scenes» role where he doesn’t interact with the public.

Sometimes I find they don’t listen. I asked for a bowl with a little lettuce and then they make a salad instead of a bowl. Overall this location is average.

The food is good but the service leaves a lot to desire. They try to move through the line so fast that they ignore customers because of it, and then your food ends up sitting there waiting for 5 people in front of you to pay. There is no point of having a fast food line where customers are ignored if you only have one register that can’t even keep up.

*Stingy with the guac and when I asked for more they ignored me. *They move too fast and often don’t pay attention to you *They keep getting black bean juice on the bottom of the damn bowl!(Last time the bag tore because of this and I almost dropped two bowls)

here’s the secret to this chipotle: order online. i’ve been here in person over 10 times and faced similar issues other Unilocal reviewers have faced – it’s busy, quantity of food is unpredictable, and their pico de gallo is possibly the worst of all the chipotles i’ve been to. it also has some inconsistent seasoning issues – sometimes their meat lacks any taste of salt – but it’s nothing major. now ordering online doesn’t exactly rectify their mushy ass tomatoes(so don’t ask for mild), but it does allow you to skip the lines and the unpredictable service. i’ve ordered online for 5 months now, always double meat of choice + guac + etc condiments, and they’ve never skimped on the amount of meat, rice, and guacamole. my bowl has consistently been full to the point where it felt like i was carrying a small baby, and after removing the aluminum top, i always find gunk of guac stuck to the top and the food itself looks squished to hell. A+ in my opinion. it also helps that their barbacoa and carnitas(yay they’re back!) aren’t as dry as a goddamn desert. however, be careful when ordering burritos here, online or otherwise. with a lot of different ingredients, they never seem to adjust accordingly and pack it so full where the tortilla inevitably tears, and even if you order a «normal» burrito, they seem to fold it awkwardly where stuff leaks out anyways. a few months ago i left an anonymous proposal for the manager that recommends lessons from a midwife to teach their employees the art of swaddling, but it seems the advice has been left unheeded. oh well.

I honestly cannot figure out why people think that Chipotle is so good when there are so many better options in San Diego. Sure, Chipotle might have the best Mexican food in Denver but come on… in San Diego? I seem to have two types of friends. Those that grew up here in San Diego(or even Smell A) and agree with me that Chipotle can’t hold a finger to Vallarta which is in the same shopping complex or even Rubio’s for that matter. Then there are my friends that grew up outside of Southern California and clearly have no idea what Mexican food should taste like. Every time I go here I try their«spicy» options and I feel nothing! Not one bead of sweat on my forehead. I just don’t get why people are so gaga over Chipotle.

Friendliest & most professional staff ever at Chipotle’s! They make the best food prepared with care! Would recommend to check it out, a lot of variety of food places nearby too

I am a Chipotle maniac and have eaten at many Chipotles across the country. This location is one of the best I have ever been to. The staff is always incredibly friendly and efficient, the food tastes amazing and always fills me up, and the place is clean and comfortable. I’ve been eating here 3 times a week for the past year and have never had a bad experience. I get burritos, bowls, tacos, all the different meats. Such a good value.

I came here a few days ago with my girlfriend, because we were hungry and needed a quick bite. We walked in and Isaac welcomed us with a happy smile. He seems new but his attitude and customer service is superb.(A lot more welcoming than his coworkers) He was very approachable and he kept us laughing as he was making our burritos. The burrito tasted good btw. If you go to chipotle ask for Isaac Barrios. I would definitely come back.

Are you kidding me! $ 3.50 charge for a quesarito! It is a handful of melted cheese! A full blown quesadilla, small chips and drink is $ 3.75! According to the manager, «This takes effect today! Due to extra cost of product(cheese) and time it takes to make it. It holds up the line!» Horrible, I can maybe understand $ 1.00 but $ 3.50. I will be taking my business elsewhere; somewhere where they know how to actually do business! Now that I think about it, I bet it was supposed to be $ 0.35, but it does say that on my receipt. #chipotle #horriblebussiness #wayoverpriced #spreadtheword

To those of you giving this place a bad review, you’re complaining about the stupidest things, let me correct you. First off, this is one of the busiest Chipotle’s in all of San Diego. It is also close to business districts and UCSD. With that in mind, this location is always doing a big business. Almost all Chipotle’s have a line. The staff at this location moves extremely fast and cranks out quality food. If you have to wait 2 – 5 minutes in line, big deal! At least be assured that the food you are getting will taste really amazing because it’s fresh and well cooked. If you’re complaining about them being out of a certain food(rice, meat) it is either being prepared at that very moment to be served again, or the store had such a big rush of customers that they went through their entire stock of product. ITHAPPENS. The portions they give you are always the same too. If you are complaining about being shorted on rice, meat, corn, etc, that’s ridiculous and you’re being greedy. If you’re someone who shows up the store as it is getting ready to close, don’t expect them to be well stocked with their food either! Seriously, if you’re complaining about them being low on certain things when they are 2 minutes from closing the store, you need to re-evaluate yourself. Finally, if you are complaining about them not wanting to make you nachos, it’s because they CAN’T. they aren’t allowed to, it’s the companies policy. If you want nachos so bad, order a burrito bowl and side of chips and make it yourself! I personally know the staff at this location and see how hard they work. This location is a restaurateur location, which means it is far better then the other San Diego locations, it’s superior in quality and service. Every time I eat from here, the food tastes amazing and is usually too much to eat by myself, so I don’t see why people are complaining about portions. Great staff, clean store, quality food!

This Chipotle is only okay. Since most Chipotles have consistent food I have nothing to say about it so I will solely rate this place on its service. I come here very often and there are certain instances that makes me question Chipotle’s hiring policy. 1. There was barely any rice left. Worker gave me the last remaining«scoop» of rice and expected me to just move along. There was freshly cooked rice right behind him(already prepared). I don’t understand how lazy someone can be to just go replace it. 2. I always get double steak + guac. Portions are always unpredictable. Sometimes I get way too little steak /way too little guac. But I guess if I ask more, they’re always happy to give more.(+1 star). 3. The area where the workers prepare the food is way too dirty. There are smears of sour cream all over it. Just clean it as soon as possible. wow I sound so pretentious. I can’t live without chipotle. it’s good just go eat it and stop complaining like me.

This place definitely used to hook it up with my burritos/bowls but they recently hired new workers that barely give me enough to fill up my bowl. I’m usually able to split a bowl into two servings, but after coming here a couple of days ago, I finished my bowl and was left with still an empty stomach… Seriously such a waste of money. Overall, I say to avoid this chipotle and go to the one near trader joe’s/Ralph’s.

Can’t lie, but I love Chipotle. This location is nice and big, and always pretty clean. Frequented by the UCSD student population and other La Jolla commuters, this spot can get pretty busy. There’s a Starbucks and Five Guys next door if you don’t feel like waiting in line, but generally always seating somewhere if you want to eat there. Guacamole is always worth it, and I love the sofritas! My typical order includes a sofritas salad all the toppings aside from sour cream, and with guacamole. It comes out to around $ 9, which is a little steep, but it can be used for two meals if you’re not starving.

I came here right before it closed, so they only had one meat option left, which was really disappointing… but I guess that’s kind of my bad. It was unfortunate cause they gave me smaller portions of meat since there was still a line behind me and they only had one tray of meat left! I think I ended up getting the pulled beef or something and I didn’t really like it. Other than that, the portions of rice/veggies were pretty sizable. As for the service, the staff there were friendly and kind. They were helpful and didn’t mind my requests for extra rice, among other things. I paid for my 2 other friends’ burritos and the cashier nicely labeled each one so we could differentiate them(especially since we all got the same meat as well). TL;DR: Food: 3⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Price: $

My single carnitas taco was only $ 2.45 and it’s a perfect snack size. The flavors are excellent with carnitas, both spicy and mild salsas, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. But my corn tortilla fell apart so I ended up eating carnitas with my bare hands. Yeah too lazy to get up and find a fork. They now have sofritas on the menu, which is spicy tofu. It looks good but I’ll try it next time. I like the tacos better than the burritos but wish they wouldn’t fall apart. Maybe next time I’ll ask for a crispy shell inside of a soft corn tortilla. Never noticed this chipotle before, which is near bookstar and Sammy’s wood fired pizza in costa verde mall, across from UTC. Clean, helpful staff, good taco. The décor is like being inside a submarine and is noisy. There are outside tables too.
