Love this place. Great setting(once you are inside out of Kearny Mesa), very warm greeting, friendly staff and GREAT food. Different entrees than the norm. All just terrific!

The weekend Taiwanese dim sum menu is amazing. If you’ve never had Taiwanese dim sum, you should absolutely go to Chin’s. The beef rolls are truly to die for.

The only place I’ve been able to find a traditional Chinese breakfast in San Diego and it was definitely worth the trek up from South Bay! The place is not your LA hole in the wall restaurant with rude service and dirty floors. No, this restaurant is «nice» for Asian standards and located within a hotel so the caliber already was set high. We delighted in the soy milk, meat pancakes and noodles… my favorite is still the fried dough buns that come out so fresh, moist and perfect when dipped into the soy milk. We will be back whenever we are in the mood to have a different type of breakfast.

Tucked inside a Holiday Inn plaza, I never knew there was such a good chinese restaurant nearby! Parking was not hard at all too! Came here based on a friend’s recommendation on Sunday morning only to arrive 1 hour to early! They did open at 11am though and I’m glad we arrived a bit early. The lunch rush that came afterwards were many. We were seated quickly and ordered quickly too. We were extremely hungry and definitely over-ordered. The portions are quite large, especially the noodle dishes(more like bowls!). Spicy Dumplings — really good. Don’t let the name deceive you, there is nothing spicy about the dumplings and the sauce isn’t spicy at all. The dumplings were quite flavorful and had a good ratio of meat filling and wrap. Potstickers — I believe that these are the same kind of dumplings but pan fried. Delicious in a different way because of a different sauce. Ground Pork Noodles — delicious. lots of savory flavor but very light. I recommend just ordering this as your noodle dish because it is A LOT. Overall this place is quite good. I haven’t had this style of Chinese food in a long time and I am pleasantly surprised to find the food was fresh and excellent value. I will be back to try more of their items!

Every time we ate here, we’d say to ourselves the food is good, we have to come back here again. The food is authentic Chinese and yet many dishes there are not the everyday Chinese stir fry that any Chinese can just easily make at home with a wok, some soy-sauce or hot sauce. The price is reasonable as well. My only complaint is that the food is a bit too salty. But I guess if you just go there once in a while it’s ok.

Located right next to Holiday Inn. Upon entering, we headed to our right and got seated in the room closest to the entrance. Looking over the menu, they had 2; one provides pictures while the other looked like a any regular chinese restaurant menu. We were told to check off what we wanted to eat — mind you some were not listed so our waiter recorded it doe us after we told him we could not find it on the list. Interior design seemed quite influenced westernly — dim lighting, booths, etc. Food came quickly — cold dishes or appetizers first like the cucumber dish and the egg roll with the fried you tiao in it. Also their sweet tofu is just right. Although my aunt had asked for salty — they gave us a sweet by accident. But it was just right as it was not too sweet. Food was decent; I had ordered the beef with black pepper sauce in which I was surprised to find out that there were no bones in it! Normally in NY there were always a couple of bones — so I usually compare generally. Also it tasted fantastic! The flavor really seeped into the meat, as each bite you took was just a savory mouthful. Service was awesome, all the waiters and waitresses were pretty courteous. All the portions were a good amount. Leaving, we were going to take some leftovers home, and the waiters or waitresses bring the movable openable small tables to put away the leftovers in front of us. Very good service here.

We had dinner on my daughter’s first birthday. Ordered spicy chicken with mushroom, and pumpkin fish. Birthday girl got a fried banana for free. Food tastes good but service is somehow slow. That is why I only gave 4 stars :)

Went here on a Sunday with my parents. A few minutes after ordering we noticed that some people have a different menu. After looking around we realized they must serve dim sum. I asked our server and she said you have to ask for the menu. If we don’t know about the menu how are we supposed to ask for it?! Apparently only Asians get to know about dim sum, I even approached a non-Asian couple who noticed the same. Our service was horrible, 20 minutes for our main dish. Servers were short with us when we asked about our meal. This location is not the best. I have contacted the corporate office with my frustrations and have not heard back… it’s been close to a month. Obviously, they just don’t care.

Chin’s is not your typical Chinese restaurant. First of all, the interior design is definitely not the authentic«Chinese» style. It’s an attempt to look oriental or Eastern but kind of fails at doing so. Nonetheless, the food here tastes pretty authentic. My friends and I were here initially to get breakfast since this is probably the only place that serves Chinese/Taiwanese breakfast in San Diego. However, after looking at the menu, we pretty much ended up getting lunch because there were more selections and it was about lunch time lol. One thing to note is that unlike most Chinese restaurants where services are usually quite poor, their waitresses are all super friendly and helpful. I feel like I discovered a gem and will definitely come back for more Chinese food for lunch or dinner, but probably not breakfast because they have really little selection.

Located on Miramar Road, just off the 15, next to a hotel. We usually come here during our birthday months, cuz they give yummy fried banana desserts as a free birthday treat. Don’t have them sing to you though, cuz they’ll sound like William Hung! haha… We try to come here for lunch, since they have more affordable lunch specials compared to dinner prices. Food is a tad bit on the salty side but their hot & sour soup is delicious. Wish they had more veggies in each entrée. Rice is included at no extra cost, which is nice since I hate it when Asian restaurants charge for rice. Service is always pretty good & friendly. We like this & the RB location. One of the better americanized chinese restaurants in town(better then Yen Chin Garden in PQ).

This is my favorite chinese restaurant in the San Diego area. Both dinner and weekend brunches are excellent. On weekends I come for fresh soy milk and freshly made chinese dim sums. I also loved their northern chinese dishes. My favorite dinner plates are the sauteed eggplant and braised beef tendons. They are located inside the Holiday Inn, and next to the freeway entrance, it’s very easy to miss the turn.

This place has been around forever! I’m not gonna lie, I can’t say that it’s location hidden away next to the Marriott is the most enticing. However, after passing by it several times in the past few months, my fiancé and I decided it’s time to give it a try. There’s gotta be a reason why it’s been there for so long, right? We came in around 5pm for dinner. A little dated inside, but more spacious than it looks from the outside. Parking is on the side of the hotel. of course asked for the special menu that some other Unilocalers mentioned on here. From the regular menu, we ordered: -«Kung Pao Three Ways», which was chicken, shrimp and scallops. Really good! Not too spicy and we asked for brown rice with it. –Hot & Sour soup — not the best I’ve had — kinda bland — I had to add some soy sauce and pepper and that brought up to more to what I am used to for this kind of soup. Special menu: The House Special Lobster! We ordered a 2.5−3 lb live lobster and they did their magic. When it was brought out to us on this huge platter, they also gave us some shell crackers and told us to «use all 10 fingers» to get down and dirty on it! Definitely fantastic… battered, lightly fried and sauteed in their house special sauce. Finger lickin good! I don’t think my fiancé and exchanged one word while eating the lobster, haha. We also ordered a drink each(Hennessey & Coke) and it was $ 8.00 from what I remember. All in all the bill came to about $ 115(most of which was because of the **super worth-it** lobster). Will definitely be back again… maybe next time to try it with crab instead!

Located next to the Holiday Inn this place is a great place for Asian Cuisine. It’s freeway close and has plenty of free parking. It’s very clean and nice without being to overly fancy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The Menu has plenty to choose from and everything we had was vert tasty. The price are a little High for Chinese Food compared to other Chinese restaurants we frequent in the San Diego area but the quality helps to make up for the extra expense. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will Dine here again one day soon when were in the area again. This place is definitely worth a try if you’re down this way. Enjoy

Pleasantly surprised! Attached to hotel, I expected much less than what experienced. Excellent menu, good choices for vegetarians, superb customer service. I was welcomed and treated very warmly. A really good dining experience. Easy in and out, plentiful parking in adjoining lot.

How does this place have only 3.5 stars?! This is my groups favorite weekend dim sum in San Diego! Everytime we all congregate on a Saturday night for drinks and debauchery, someone always asks«Chin’s?», and the next morning it’s on! The inside is beautiful,(dont let the fact they are attached to a motel fool you). White tablecloth and gold/sapphire/jade accents everywhere. And even though wait staff is in formal attire, they make you feel very comfortable(no attitude if we are an all Caucasian group like we get elsewhere). And they keep our water full(essential for post party mornings). The food is phenominal.(MAKESURETOASKFORTHE«REAL» CHINESEMENU!) Our favorite is the beef pancake that comes with crunchy veggies and cilantro inside that compliments the tender savory beef. We also love the egg pancake, steamed dumpling(waitress said xiao long bao when she served it, but it’s just a regular delicious steamed dumpling), shanghai noodles, and whatever soup we feel like that day. Everything is good. I suggested Chin’s to a friend of mine from China who took her whole family and she couldn’t even wait until after her meal to text me her gratitude for the recommendation. Value: we stuff ourselves silly and end up paying about $ 12 each. For the quality, I know of no better deal. I have steered people to Chin’s for years now and never has anyone been disappointed. I cannot suggest it enough so stop reading reviews and GO!

I have been to several Chin’s locations in San Diego. I have been very happy with my experiences at each, though each is a little bit different. First Impression: This location is a great location for a date. This place has a nice feel without being intimidating. Cozy and mellow. The service: every face is kind and friendly. When I was there it was pretty slow, so they had a good opportunity to go above and beyond. They took full advantage of the opportunity. I was very pleased with the service that I received. The food: I LOVE Chinese food, but that makes me a very strict critic. Let me assure you that this has fantastic food. I order the Hot & Sour Soup and Tangerine Crispy Beef. The food is absolutely amazing. I could eat it every day. I LOVEIT! Every other location I have been to the other food is delicious. I LOVE this food. DEEEEELICIOUS!!! It is a bit spendy, but it is worth it.

We were craving Taiwanese breakfast and ended up at Chin’s Seafood and Grill. Taiwanese breakfast items are served on weekends at Chin’s. We ordered the following: — Egg Pancake — Pork Dumplings — the pictures look like soup dumplings… but these are just actually regular dumplings — Salty Rice Ball — Noodles with Minced Meat — Jellyfish — Salty Soybean Milk All items were tasted good and were on par for Taiwanese breakfast. I’ll definitely be back soon when the Taiwanese breakfast craving strikes!

Plenty of parking, good service, delicious food, prices are a teensy bit high but the portions make up for it. Their beef noodle soup was SO delicious(my favorite!). If you share family style like normally in Asian restaurants, you will definitely be full. It’s located next to a hotel but anyone can go, you don’t have to be staying at the hotel. It’s located right off of the 15 near the Holiday Inn. I’m so glad it’s right down the street and I will definitely be venturing here frequently.
