Food is cold and server behind the counter was very unfriendly to the point of being rude. Cheap, but cold food.

Didn’t even try the food. Based on the service, the guy was real rude. Asked if they had any orange chicken fresher then what they had(didn’t look fresh) he gave me a ride response. Didn’t seem enthused, just gave off a terrible vibe that made me not want to eat there.

Great special! 3 items with rice and soda or soup for $ 5.99! Food was good. The coconut shrimp tasted perfect. Not too sweet, not too coconuty — perfect blend of flavor. They make boba as well, but I’ve yet to try. Will com back and highly recommend!

The food here is pretty alright. The prices are good, but the customer service is almost non existent. The guy with the glasses that works in the front always seems very uninterested in everything. I mean someone feeling that way is understandable considering where he works, but he should at least *try* to be nice. 2 stars for okay food.

Terrible service waited 2 hours for delivery and the order was still wrong, driver came back and took the food and didn’t want to refund us cause it was close to closing time

I was in the area doing a quick errand during my lunch break and needed to pick up something to eat. I was craving chinese food and it was either this place or Panda Express which was a block away. I decided to roll the dice and try out China Express. 3 item combo with a drink or soup for $ 5.99 is probably the best deal around. I opted for the egg drop soup which was really good. Probably one of the best egg drop soups I’ve had from a chinese fast food place. The scallion pork was delicious! It had the right amount of flavor and was spicy. The fried rice and the chow mein isn’t anything I would rave about. The orange chicken was ok and the kung po chicken wasn’t spicy at all. The service was excellant! If I came back, I would get the plain white rice with the scallion pork… yes it was that good.

It’s OK, nothing fancy and worth bragging. Good place for a quick lunch. My only gripe was the lack of parking.

They have the best lunch special, $ 5.99 for rice or noodles, 3 items, and either soda or soup. The food is decent but you get what you pay for. The staff is very friendly.

Love the boneless spareribs which took me over 5 years to find in San Diego. Literally lol. Good rice. Solid hot and sour soup. Nice folks work there too.

Not bad of a place to eat for reasonable price and maybe decent food. It seems to be a common theme for certain businesses that the product advertised is not available. Why do you still have the product that is unavailable for purchase *confuzzled*? Pros: Price and fresh food when the timing is right. Cons: Food is not ready when the business is open Lack of food variety on the steam table Boba Teas not available No more toothpicks except the used ones! ITWAS my go to spot for Chinese food since I’m not really impressed with Panda Express but would be nice to find another. Hi decent Flame Broiled place =)

For the price and quality of food, I give this 5-Stars. The rice and noodles are the very basic, so don’t expect any flare there, but the entrees are delicious. Teriyaki Chicken is very flavorful, I love the eggplant/tofu dish and the egg drop soup(although basic) is very good and filling. I had the mushroom chicken as well. honestly, all the entrees look pretty tasty. $ 6.99 for 2 entrees and a side. I substitute veggies instead of rice/noodles. My go to spot for Chinese in this area. It’s quick, affordable but more importantly — really yummy.

Now that this new Chinese ladies took over the service in this place is been going downhill. Service and food was great when the screaming Chinese lady and teen girls were thre. When a restaurant remove food from your order cus they put a lil too much it’s bad service. They pretty much count everything. Don’t even have ice on the machine for u. I wouldn’t say skip it for the food. Service sucks tho. Feels like you’re ordering Chinese food in the hood.

AWFUL! You will die after reading this story, it’s like something that would happen in a sitcom. So I work down the street and originally wanted to go to subway but ended up parking right in front of China express and see their«3 combo $ 5.99 deal» and people sitting outside eating their food so why I think-okay why not. I go in line(it’s like a Panda Express style assembly line) and here’s a random guy my age that gets in line after me. We start just small talk and he seems cool so whatever– that was that. Then his order is done before mine but he let me pay first to be a gentleman. The girl gives me a receipt for 13 dollars. SHECHARGEDMEFORBOTHOURMEALS. We start laughing and I go «I don’t know him» and she goes«OKAYHECANGIVEYOUCASHFORYOURORDER» like. seriously? Yeah, let me ask this random person for cash because you messed up. She looks super confused and asks the manager what to do-like she’s never refunded someone before. Then just gives me a random amount of money back. Not to mention the food was chewy and rubbery and I had to spit out a bone. At least be up to Panda Express par. NEVERGOINGBACK. :)

Cafeteria style Chinese food. I saw their sign, 3 entrees, side, and a can soda for $ 5.99 which caught my attention. I most definitely got what I paid for because their food was just ugh. Greasy and bland. Nothing more nothing less!

Whenever I am in Clairemont I have to get China express. Great quality of food for a more than decent price. Just note that they replace ALL of the food at 4 pm daily so do your best not to show up too close to that time. Otherwise the orange chicken might be «fibery» if you know what I mean. Best mushroom chicken I’ve ever had regardless of time.

Got a family pack for the fam because it was fast and on the way home. I was in a rush. Came with a grip of stuff including fried rice, spring rolls, crab wontons, orange chicken, veggies, spicy kung pao, etc… and even a 2 liter soda. LOTS of stuff for only $ 30. My family unanimously agreed: NOFLAVOR.

My kid & I split an order yesterday of orange chicken, mushroom chicken, fried rice, & potstickers. It was pretty good except for the fried rice, which was a downer & tasted like rice pilaf. It was around $ 5 for the plate plus another $ 5 for the potstickers. Pretty cheap & I’d like to say I’d come back, but I don’t know if it’s worth it for the drive. I guess for cheap Chinese food, this is probably as good as it gets.

I was in the mood for cheap Chinese food after a long day at work, and I’d remembered passing by China Express and seeing their 3-item combo plate for $ 4.99. So, here I was! I went with chicken and broccoli, kung pao chicken(with peanuts!), and char siu spare rib tips, along with half fried rice and half lo mein. What that deal doesn’t mention is that you also get a choice of egg drop soup or hot and sour soup; I went with the latter. With a small drink, my total came out to $ 7. Can’t beat that, compared to Panda Express or Rice King! The food wasn’t too bad, though the lo mein had the consistency of linguine… I’m used to the orange color, as Rice King’s noodles have the same color. The chicken and broccoli was a tad bland, but the kung pao chicken and the char siu rib tips made up for it. The four star is for the hot and sour soup… not only does China Express offer it with their combos, it’s pretty good! Not much ambiance, and the place is run by a Chinese family — the guy behind the steam table looks like he’s the son of the cashier that rang me up. Still, with some very affordable prices(despite the lo mein), I think I’ll be back… besides, I want to try the egg rolls.
