Their sandwiches is amazing and great customer service, I love their selection of adult beverages… Plus they carry the wine that I love here, so instead of ordering it from Napa I just come here to restock!

Just stumbled down cowles mountain when a buddy said something about good sandwiches. I always love a good sandwich and with the dusty hiking trail coming to an end, foods thought were front and center. We didn’t even use google maps to drive there. He knew the location well, as he is a frequent customer. Baked Ham sammy for me please. Hit the spot nice and slow. No bloated, too much bread, kinda feelings. Thank you Cheers! Cheers, O’come on, you know my name.

Hidden gem in San Carlos. It’s easy to miss because it looks like your typical strip mall storefront. But inside they have a full deli with a pretty expansive menu. Lots of choices and great sandwiches here! Love the Malibu Ham sandwich. Call ahead to save time.

Favorite sandwich place in SD. The chainsaw is all I will get lol. Call and order first or be stuck behind the hungry hiker line.

One of my favorite sandwich spots in San Diego. All the ingredients taste so fresh. I get the chicken fajita pita on a consistent basis. Don’t miss the potato salad either!

This place has the best sandwiches! I’ve had several different sandwiches and all of them were great. But the Godfather? Wow! Bring a big appetite if you’re gonna order this one. It’s a meal all by itself. No need for chips or soda. Consider yourself lucky if you can eat the pasta or potato salad it comes with. You will not regret coming her for a sandwich.

Simple well executed sandwiches. French bread is the way to go as recommended. Even when it’s busy(which seems to be often) the sandwich crafters build them quickly and you’re usually out in less than 10 minutes.

Had a great experience at Cheers Deli today! My husband got the Italian salami sandwich on French roll and I got the Swiss Alps on marble rye. Both very good. We also had potato salad which had a nice homemade taste. The liquor store which houses the deli has just about anything you want to go with a sandwich. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Good sandwiches! We will be back.

Get. The. Godfather. That’s an order! This sandwich is melt-in-your-mouth awesome! Soft, toasted bread(I requested a hot sando), good quality meats and crunch veggies. It’s a perfect, filling meal for after a gym workout or a hike through Cowles Mountain.

Delicious breakfast sandwich! Reminded me of Dunkin Doughnuts back in the early 90’s. Will definitely be back. I’m not even sure I took a picture because I was too busy scarfing it down. If I find it I’ll post it.

Since a classmate referenced this place to me, and traffic on the freeway is always terrible on my way home anyway, I figured what the heck, I’ll just take a side-route and on my way I’ll give them a try. Not to sure what to say, I really enjoyed the food and drink selection. It’s pretty much a liquor store with a deli attached to it. The deli food was very good! I’ve forgotten what I actually ordered as a sandwich, but needless to say, it tasted absolutely amazing! Being there’s sometime between ordering the food and getting the food, I did a little snooping of the wine they had and ended up picking a couple bottles of red wine. I’ll be sure to swing by again! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

The Spicy Italian sandwich is the way to go! Perfect spot to buy lotto tickets as well. My only complaint is that it seems like it takes a lot longer to make the sandwiches than it should, so even if there is nobody else in the store, expect a wait.

Eclectic menu, excellent service, and the sandwiches are top notch. This place gives great value for the money, the sandwiches are big enough to be a decent size meal for two and they come with a side of potato salad. This place is a real gem of San Diego.

I went to Patrick Henry. I used to live right across the street from the library. I remember what most of the businesses around here used to be. And it’s really odd that this was my first time in this deli! My dentist is still up the street from here, even after all these years. I’m amazed that it’s taken me this long to come check this place out. Even still, I’m happy I did. Immediately upon walking in I was greeted with the most delicious aroma. Ahhh, the smell of a deli is like no other. I was in my happy place. I drifted over to the counter and gazed into the meat case and checked out the meats and cheeses. Yep, I’ll take it all. While my eyes were wondering up to the menu board a nice gentleman behind the counter told me there was also a menu on the counter I could refer to as well. I settled on the spicy Italian. There are many options here, you can also make your own sandwich. And it looks like you can have your sandwich hot or cold. After you order they give you a ticket that you take to the cashier to pay along with any other purchases and your sandwich is ready and waiting to be picked up at the counter. Service was good. The two guys behind the deli counter were both really friendly and full of smiles. The cashier was also nice as well. My sandwich was great. It was packed with flavor. It came with capocollo, pepperoni, bacon, mozzarella, mustard, lettuce, onions, and dressing. It also included a side of pasta salad. I would definitely come back here to try some of the other sandwiches they’ve got. I don’t know how anyone can shop in here without buying deli, but I watched a couple people do it.

OHMYGOODNESS! We had actually gotten lost and were going to stop at a gas station to ask directions… GPS had us driving in circles. We saw Cheers and went in to get something to drink… not knowing what we would find at the deli counter. I was surprised to find a Reuben on the menu but was quick to order it. It was piled high and the cheese was melted to perfection. The bread was soft and delicious. I have to say that it was the very best Reuben I have ever eaten!!!

Another liquor store serving up good sandwiches. It’s near Mission Trails GC, so it’s a good place to grab a sandwich after playing a round of golf. I had the Godfather, good bread and good toppings, overall a good sandwich. Sandwiches aren’t that big but are reasonably priced.

An all around, pretty solid, local liquor store and deli. This place has been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember and I’ve never grabbed sandwich here. I’ve also never really done as much as top check out their alcohol selection either. I finally broke down and did both. The verdict? Solid sandwiches and alcohol selection. You probably already guessed that though from the first sentence of the review. They offer a ton of options for sandwiches and a pretty decent selection for craft beer and alcohol. The alcohol: Craft beer & liquor pretty much line the walls of this place. I’d say the liquor selection is probably better than the craft beer selection but both are good. I’d put the pricing pretty standard for most liquor stores, not the cheapest I’ve ever seen but pretty average and for the most part not any pricier than anywhere within a few miles. They do have a couple beers that I’ve been looking for and being in close proximity, I think that pretty much makes them a worthy convenience at the least. The sandwiches: This is probably where this place really shines. Great quality deli sandwiches with tons of options. I went with«The Godfather» which had a pretty much nothing but Italian meats, tomato, lettuce, onions and mustard. I passed on the mayo and Italian dressing though so it would probably be even better if I didn’t. It was pretty darn good and also came with a little side of white mac & cheese. Was it the best sandwich I’ve ever had? No and at $ 8 after tax I’d say it was a little more expensive than it should be but it still can’t take anything away from the sandwich itself. It had a bunch of flavor, was pretty generous in portion size and it was nice and fresh. I think next time I’ll give the tried and true New Yorker a go to really gauge this place. I’ll be back, that’s a given.

It’s hard not to love a business that caters to almost every vice I can dream up. Bourbon? Check. Overstuffed subs full of rich meats, delicious sauces, and minimal vegetation? Check. Lotto, Power Ball and scratch tickets? Check, check and check. Candy bars? You bet. And all these things are delivered at a fair price by competent, pleasant people who remember my order from last time and don’t get all judgy, like the ladies at the grocery store. AND… Cheers is my neighborhood liquor store, so it’s as though God wants me to shop here.
