The food was cold. We had been walking for about 4 hours. And we waited in line for 20 – 30 minutes for a cold Burrito!!! It got the job done but really?!? The meat was cold. There was tons of flys and the good was Gross. I hope I never go there again!

It’s similar to Chipotle, but not as good. Brown rice was undercooked. Quick cafeteria style. You pick burrito or bowl, and select your ingredients. Doesn’t have tofu option, but guacamole is free if you don’t have any meat.

Very bad service! They treat people differently, perhaps by race. They only gave me a very small portion of food. This was not the case for other customers as I watched. Furthermore, spoons went out. I mentioned to them. They simply asked me to wait. I waited, waited and waited for 20 minutes. Nothing happened.

We have eaten here several times and it has always been delicious. We always get the chicken(grilled pollo al pastor), which has a wonderful, unique flavor. I don’t know which spices they use, but I would love the recipe. I usually get the bowl and then ask for a tortilla on the side. I always ask for lots of salsa and I also I spring for the guacamole. The are very generous with the guac! One thing that I love about this place is that they have sliced cucumber among the toppings. You can’t get that at Chipotle, nor can you get the delicious grilled chicken al pastor. They used to have enormous bowls, but they have switched to a smaller container. It is still more food than any of us can finish. The service has always been great and the staff is very accommodating. Some people mentioned that the drinks were on the expensive side, but I’ve always just asked for a cup of ice water.

Bowl was very good. Similar to Chipotle, but cost less and portions a little smaller too. Least expensive option for food in Balboa Park, plus they have even cheaper kids menu items! Right above the San Diego Model Railroad Museum!

Unfortunately, the burrito was mediocre at best. We got brown rice that was undercooked and crunchy and the carnitas which was overly salty and not very warm at all. Unfortunate. It’s definitely no Chipotle!

The burritos here are pretty good, I have to say. There are plenty of different ingredients you have added. I’d say that it’s by far the healthiest food in Balboa Park, unless you consider the more formal sit-down restaurants, and even then I’d say Casa 1915 is on par in terms of healthy food. Today was the first time I had an issue, but in the scheme of things it wasn’t a big deal. I’m posting it more so the management knows. Anyway, the brown rice I had in my burrito was undercooked and crunchy. I verified that it was in fact the rice and nit something else. This won’t stop me from being a repeat customer though.

This place gets an E for effort. Don’t come here thinking you’ll get chipotle. Same concept, different taste. I had a chicken bowl. Flavoring was bland. Salsa wasn’t spicy at all and their portions are quite small. The kids meal isn’t worth it. My niece had a «cheese roll up». It’s a quesadilla, nothing«rolled» about it. Tiny little tortilla, water or apple juice and that’s it. Not worth $ 4.95. Cleanliness was okay. Customer service was okay. Everything about this visit was«okay». Not necessarily bad, but also not great. Main reason why I wouldn’t visit again is because of the food.

Little shack-looking corner stop. Burrito did what it needed and was pretty big. Not the best, but that is to be expected. If you’re in the area and need something quick, this is it.

Lies… We went to this place for lunch on valentines day after going to the train museum hence they are in the same building. Walking by people eating the food, it smells great, and everyone food looks good as well… Then the menu, It says Grilled Carne, as a main ingredient for burritos and bowls… which are 2 of the 3 things they serve. It also says about $ 7 per meal… Getting into line they lied about the Carne, as they did not have any, nor ever did says the employee I ask… They had Something that looked like beef covered in sauce to cover up the fact that it was all overcooked. Then they had under cooked chicken. My ladie got a bowl, which they filled with the disgusting beef, and then covered with salad ingredients to make it look edible and attractive, Then they charged us $ 4 for a can of soda, which brough our 2 person meal to $ 23… As we walked outside my girlfriend showed me her bowl which when mixed up looked like a grease bowl, the meat was unchewable and coated extensively with a bitter sauce. My burrito immediately fell apart and was destroyed, It turned into a mess on a plate, in no way a burrito. In all. The Food was horrible, we were deceivingly led there and over payed for food that was just really bad. Don’t eat here ever.

Server was nice and prompt but their carnitas wasn’t that good. Maybe going to try the beef or chicken next time. Overall it was ok! Paid $ 8 for a burrito.

Really tasty food. Got a bowl and was able to get brown rice which was a plus for me! Chicken was tender and the guac was fresh and flavorful. Manager gave us a «get the next one free» card because he found out I checked in on Unilocal!Gave 4 stars only simply because of the ambiance whick is not their fault — every where in Balboa park is beaufiful but the“restaurant” is in a narrow hallway that echos. but the restaurant the food and the service were wonderful. hubby thinks Casa 1915 is better than Chipotle

Friendly service, but not the freshest food. Although it tasted fine, everything on the burrito bar was nearing empty, and the meats looked dried up.

Same basic set up as Chipotle and on par or even better than chipotle. They are fast and they offer you everything. I like that you can get pico de gallo and corn as well as salsa. Food is delicious. They also have sweet potatoes you can add if you get veggie. I love chipotle but I like this better than chipotle. Well done Casa.

Think Chipotle, but with really slow service and probably not the same commitment to non-GMO foods. It was okay. There were only two guys serving and there was quite a line at lunch time. That said, I enjoyed my salad and the location was convenient for exploring Balboa park.

I’ve been here a couple times and the food is always consistent and fresh. Sure it’s a little pricey but it’s also in Balboa Park, a well-known tourist location! I highly recommend this place for a healthy alternative to the fair-style foods usually served at the carts around the park.

This was the perfect place to go to after the train museum with my big family. There were 6 adults and 2 kids, everyone found something they liked to eat– rice bowls, salad bowls, and burritos galore, there was enough seating, and it was casual enough for the kids to run around and steam off the excitement from the museum without getting looked at funny. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come to Balboa to eat here but if I was at a museum I wouldn’t mind coming back to get a bite.

I don’t eat at Chipotle’s, so I can’t compare as the other reviewers did, but I love this place for a quick lunch that’s not fast food at Balboa Park. It’s a bit out-of-the way, inside where the SD History and the SD Photography Museums are, but worth the search. Then go eat slowly in the park. There is a fresh bar where you can see all the choices for salad, burrito or «bowls». Yum! Whole wheat or «flour» tortillas, brown or white rice, pinto or black beans, etc., lots of choices, everything fresh and delicious. I love the corn salad. The people serving are really nice and pleasant even when the line gets long. It’s a good sign that the line is long at lunchtime! The place is spotless and organized. I almost gave Casa 19154 stars because I wish they had corn tortillas for street tacos, but they don’t advertise that. I’m just happy to have healthy fresh toppings for a fat burrito.

This place has a very friendly staff and it does look clean. Food is OK, nothing spectacular but tasty enough for a fast lunch between the museum tours. Will stop by again while in Balboa Park.
