Directly east of Westfield Mission Valley mall and right across Camino del Este from Bed, Bath & Beyond is a little area full of the best eating around these parts. In & Out Burger, Taco Bell, a brand new El Pollo Loco, and my fav Chinese: Pick-​Up Stix! All of this awesomeness is right next to a big AT&T store.
Last week I stopped by after a movie and was thrilled to see a beautiful dining court area built into the front area of the AT&T store. You step down into a area surrounded by green wrought iron fencing. There were cement tables and benches, umbrellas and lots of balloons and plants adding a decorative touch. Tropical palm trees swayed in the light breeze. This new set-​up was sorely needed to add a welcoming and relaxing vibe to all these restaurants jammed up into the corner here with very little room-​up until now– to enjoy your meal.
The only drawback is that the day I visited, it was extremely hot and there weren’t too many people sitting out there in the broiling noon day sun. Also I had to eliminate 1 Unilocal Star for some older man with 2 dogs on a leash. He walked them through the nice dining area and they promptly relieved themselves right next to where I was snapping pics. I imagine if I was actually eating, I might be repulsed at this bathroom display. NOT an appetizing spectacle at all!
Otherwise, an altogether nice spot to enjoy some great food (and fresh air) in Mission Valley.
