B’S Nails

I’ve been meaning to write a review for about a year now, but better late than never. This place is by far the WORST nail salon I have ever been to, and I’ve been to my fair share of questionable nail salons. First of all, the staff hardly speaks English. Understandable, but worthy of losing a star. Secondly, the owner is so unprofessional it’s unbelievable that she hasn’t gone out of business. I went in for a gel manicure, and let me just say, there is no type of «spa» to this manicure. It’s straight forward: file, buff, and paint. The woman who did my nails claimed to be the owner, but based off of the manicure she gave me I don’t understand how she could start a business with her horrendous skill. She gave me her business card, crossed out the prices with her pen, wrote more expensive prices, and told me to bring my friends next time… Right. I was so unsatisfied with my manicure I wanted her to fix them or give me a refund. She argued with me (yes, ARGUED) but agreed to redo them. The manicure was clumpy, on my skin, and didn’t cover parts of my nail (reminder: it was GEL). She started going over the already clumpy base with another coat of polish. At this point, I was done. I told her I just wanted my money back. She became enraged, and started yelling that she was just doing what I told her to do. By the way, there was a poor woman sitting with her hands in acetone witnessing the lunacy of this «owner.» Eventually, after she pulled my hand over to the woman sitting down to ask her what her opinion was of my nails (she just stared at me with wide eyes), she threw (yes, THREW) half of what I paid her and told me something along the lines of, «take your money and leave.» I told her I wanted ALL of my money back, and then I would gladly leave. She threw an extra $ 10 at me, and swatted at me to go. I was so shocked by the unprofessionalism that I was literally laughing at how ridiculous this whole situation was. As I pulled out of the «parking lot» (it’s just some patch of gravel in an alley), she yelled at me to «never come back!» In short, the neighborhood is sketchy, the place is dirty, the customer service is awful, and nothing is worth what you pay for (even if their prices are low), TRUST ME.

She also hung up before I could finish.

Worst place ever to have anything done! Customer service very bad! Place is very dirty! I got my eye brows done, did not remove any hair! I told to woman who did my brows, that she did nothing I refused to pay, it was just bad! Don’t go here!!!

The last couple of times that I came to this nail shop I noticed that The Owner *B.* had become a different kind of person. Very mean, aggressive, pushy, and rude! She is very fortunate to have received even 1 star from me after the way I was treated today. And the only reason why is because in order to write a review you have to have at least 1 star highlighted to write a comment.
When I walked into her place of business today I originally wanted to get a Gel Pedicure but realized I didn’t bring enough cash with me (CASH ONLY place). So at that point I decided to just choose a less expensive pedicure. B. became very aggressive, very pushy and had a mean, nasty demeanor about her. Her bad attitude was because I had changed my mind and stuck with the less expensive one. Also, She was pushy and kept pressing me to get a manicure, Keep in mind *I had told her in the beginning when I walked in that i only need to get a pedicure and had no time to stay longer and not enough cash on me. And so at that point, in a sarcastic rude tone, she said «Why don’t you ask him to pay for you.» She meant my husband who was there with me. She also said, «2 people can work, 1 on hands and 1 on feet so that it won’t take long. Very pushy, made us both uncomfortable to the point that my husband just waited in the car.
B. immediately started talking in her *Vietnamese language* to the Nail Tech girl, both were talking back and forth to one another, my point being is that I am pretty sure they were talking trash about me. The pedicure was done in a quick 10 – 15 mins. Once finished, the Nail tech didn’t even bother to have me sit aside for a little while to have my freshly painted toe nails dry underneath those mini, little fans like ALL nail places usually do!
Bottomline is, No one deserves this kind of treatment especially coming from the Owner. I was still kind enough to tip. Both didn’t deserve a dime now come to think of it. It’s like getting away with murder! And so this is why the bad review. to put a stop to this kind of Management. She lost a Good-​Paying-​Customer. And I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else!

I’ve lived and worked in OB for years and don’t know why it took me so long to try this place out. It’s my new spot! Clean, modern office and the ladies there are kind and do a great job. I’ll definitely be returning regularly.

Manicure $ 8…it was alright, probably won’t come here again though… customer service was awkward, she asked only one question and it was «do you live here?» It was awkward silence while she did my nails. No music, no tv, no talking. I believe it was the owner who did my nails. When it came time to do my pedicure she had me wait for someone else who was still helping a lady. I ended up just saying I would leave. Manicure turned out being a little messy, polish still on the side of my thumb nail. I mean I get that it was only $ 8 but it was still pretty lousy. I usually go to a shop down the street which unfortunately isn’t open on Sundays I found out today and their manicures are a dollar cheaper and they just do better work. Not worth trying this place I would advise anyone not to.

The only reason I’m giving B’s a four star instead of a five star review is because I just wish they had at least one nice massage chair for pedicures, plus they could do something a little better as far as the interior design. All the pedicures are done in portable foot baths…
But if you don’t mind any of that, they have excellent customer service they give great deals and their work is very good quality. My full set with gel color lasts forever when I go to B’s. I’ve gone to thee places where the clear gel on top peels really badly after just a few days. That never happens to my nails when I go here. I always get a full set w/​black french tips with gel polish, a spa pedi & an eyebrow & upper lip wax plus my daughter’s mani with 2 designs all for less than $ 60. B’s Nails has the most affordable prices for the best quality here in the 92 115 San Diego area. I’d recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Great prices and friendly

I followed Bea, from the salon she worked at previously mainly because her gel manicures are the BEST!!! I have gone to quite a few salons for this service and no place compares in detail, durability and best of all price. She is a very hard working gal always in a good mood fully recommend.
