We decided to try this place out and the oxtails, rice, veggies, and plantains were delicious! It has a cute décor and the staff was friendly!

Tried them out last week. Friendly staff. The girl in front was super nice and answered all my menu questions. The guys cooking even popped their heads out to say hi and explain certain dishes. Ended up with oxtail and brownstew with red peas and rice, collard greens, steamed veggies and plantains. Food was amazing! Full of flavor, fresh and the prices are competitive. Trying the jerk chicken tonight!

another jamaican spot opens up and it’s the real deal. from their ackee & salt fish, calaloo, fried dumplins, sweet bread and beef patties, jerk and stewed chicken, and the best ox-tail ive had since uncle crab in westbury long island. killer sauce and flavor on the oxtail that was cooked perfectly, and I can’t wait to have it again. id get two orders of red peas and rice cause I can’t get enough and have them pour the oxtail right over it. the jerk chicken was good and had a bit of heat that didn’t last too long. this is the second time in SD this year we’ve been served white meat jerk chicken, must be a cali thing. regardless, killer food and flavors and we will be regulars.

Once I saw photo posts from Jocy C. I had to come here the next day. As I got closer I realized this is the same spot as the old Jamaican spot that was here. I’m not sure if they did a make over, or if it’s new owners, but regardless they’re making some great food here. The interior is much nicer and set up smarter. Should of went for the daily special of fish tea soup, but the brown stew chicken and jerk chicken wings were jumping off the menu at me. The brown stew chicken comes out with nice red beans & rice, plantains and cabbage with some mixed vegetable. Brown stew chicken was delicious. Cooked just right with the perfect amount of stew for dipping. Cabbage was a nice treat. Red beans & rice were a little dry but very good. Plantains were a little disappointing. I like mine crispy with that nice candied outside, and these were not being a little plain. Wings come out later. Incredible jerk on these wings. Beautiful spice with that slow build of heat on them. The smell was just incredible. Another great Jamaican place in SD. If you like Jamaican food, you’ll love this place.

Food Rating: 4.5 Stars(Amazing Flavors!) Ackee Tree The Real Jamaican Cuisine is a newly opened restaurant. Cheers to family owned businesses! Between my significant other and I, we ordered the following: — Curry Chicken /Red Peas and Rice /Steamed Veggies — Oxtail /Collard Greens /Steamed Veggies — Fish Tea Soup — the soup broth tasted like it had been boiled for a while. Hearty. YUM! MUSTGET! — Pineapple Soda Food overall tasted home cooked. Would definitely order the Curry Chicken and Oxtail again. Real Jamaican Cuisine indeed. Support Small Businesses! ENJOY!

I discovered this place while just wandering around the area, and it is amazing! Being from the islands it’s been very hard to find good authentic Jamaican food, but this place has it all! The flavor is there, the textures are right and the portions are good in size! This is the spot!

Called my order in and left to pick up the food. which was ready to go once I arrive. I got lucky and got a parking spot right out front(limited curbside parking but there is parking across the street and around the corner). I ordered the fish tea for myself and a coworker and it was amazing. The staff kindly greeted me and let me know that they also deliver. My food was still hot and fresh when I got back to work for lunch. The flavor was ever apparent as my nose was running from the subtle spicy kick of the scotch bonnet. I will definitely come back and try their salt fish and curry chicken! Thank you!
