Great, fast, and profressional service! Bill really took care of me, and was flexible with timing. I plan to make this my regular spot!

Me and my girlfriend came here last week. I got Crystal Hernandez to do my art and she produced quality art and fast! She was amazing, but my girlfriend got this other guy named Curtis. Curtis finished up in no time, but the next day when excess ink wiped off we noticed how miss-​shaped it came out, plus he didn’t finish the fill in a few spots that are pretty noticeable. All in all this was a great shop, just make sure u get to know your artists’ work before you just trust any of them.

Had an amazing facial with Bill yesterday, my skin looks so fresh and bright, being new to San Diego I have been in need of a new place to get facials, found my place to say the least. Thank you Bill for the fantastic and much needed facial, I feel renewed:)

I’m a big guy and had my «nether region» waxed, so I was a little shy going in. I was made to feel very comfortable and everything was extremely professional. I’m a redhead and have very sensitive skin — I didn’t have any breakouts after the waxing and everything lasted for a long time with no irritation. Great experience and I would highly recommend this place to others.

I have been going to see Bill for years and I have no reason to see anyone else. He waxes and tints my brows and lashes. He’s quick, efficient, does consistently great work, and the price is right. Want a not frills, but great Spa treatment? Go see Bill!

I have to say this was my first experience doing a total body wax. Though I somewhat new what to expect, Bill with About Face made the experience comfortable. The overall ambiance of the office and treatment area is relaxing; and his professionalism along with his practical knowledge was OUTSTANDING. As a new client, this made me feel very much at ease. This is the person to seek out when it comes to skin & body wellness.

I have been meaning to write this review for a while… I get a lot of facials, and I very much enjoyed getting my first facial from a male esthetician. Bill was pleasantly chatty, and I really enjoyed the products he used. I was a little disappointed that he was out of the cleanser, but he did email me to let me know that it had come in (as promised). I had no problem finding parking nearby and while the space is on the smallish side, it is intimate and cozy. Highly recommend.

My path here turned out to be a true blessing in disguise. I’m wearing a strapless wedding dress and all of a sudden the skin on my back became a great concern for me. I bought a package of microdermabrasions to help fix the problem at Ulan Med Spa. Wait – isn’t that the place that closed down? YES it is, right smack in the middle of my 6 treatments over a 6 month period. I was definitely peeved, but then I get an email that we can continue our treatments here at About Face. HUGE difference in my microderm experience. I assumed my skin was supposed to feel prickly after a treatment, but I’ve had two appointments with Bill so far and I’ve not felt that sensation. My skin just feels soothed and it’s been a relaxing experience. I can see results as wells. Definitely more smoothed out what I was hoping for. I also like the products he uses and recommends. I’m very particular with the way skin products smell and everything here smells wonderful. Even the skin lightening (and I’ve tried many, trust me.) smells like pineapple. One of the only issues is parking but it’s a fantastic location with lots of shops and restaurants. (very close to 5^th and University). Street parking only. I look for unmetered street parking just a couple of blocks and walk.

This facial is very so so. Nothing special at all and what irks me a bit is when I know this place is owner run and operated and there is a «tip» part on the credit card slip. If the owner is not working for tips that should not be included in the final bill. I wouldn’t recommend for a facial, not great.

This place is the best! Great prices and expert service. No frills, no bs, just great service at great prices.

I hate to say mean things, but I will. I used to love going to Bill– the owner– for a quick, efficient Brazilian wax (yeah, ladies– he’s a guy, but super professional). He’s a big hit with all the gurls in the hood. Bill has great knowledge of skin care and the latest products out there. It’s a tiny hole in the wall that’s private, clean, and perfect.
But here’s why I’m boycotting– one month, my wax cost me $ 35. The very next month, $ 70! And he told me, after the service was performed, that the full wax (i.e. your bum, too) cost $ 10 extra. Everywhere else I have gone includes that– it’s assumed as part of the service.
So if you go, discuss and set a price over the phone when making your appointment and ask about any surprise add-​ons.

Nice simple setting. Once you figure out where it is, it’s super easy to find and get to… Bill focuses on facials, but he does waxing too. It’s not a «spa», but you’ll get really personal attention and a great facial (I’m a scared to get waxed… and kinda like most of my hair anyway).
