Great time tonight. Fun food and great time for whole family.

This location is not closed. It is open and serving food. Upon my initial entry it appears as though a person sitting in a position I would call the hostess desk directed me to sit where I wanted to. The entire dining establishment was nice, it had a great ambiance and I really enjoy a nice quiet meal. This tends to be a difficult thing to find in San Clemente around lunch time. The service we recieved was above average. The waiter knew the specials, and soup of the day and was quick to take our drink and food order. The food took a little longer than expected but not an excessive amount of time, this was explained to be due to a 40 person conference next door. The food itself was pretty good. I ordered a hamburger and cup of soup and both were warm and delicious. My lunch partner ordered sliders and a salad and was also satisfied with the meal. I would put the meal as above average for chain restaurants and worthy of the slight markup for location.

Sorry to have to write this, but i’m disappointed! You have a great facility and property. I love the ambiance of the patio with the fire pit and live music is always excellent. I gave you many chances but your food is not good– and it has gone from bad to worse in the last several weeks(you changed your menue?). I so wanted to make this my familys friday night tradition-hitting a bucket of balls and enjoying a decent dinner with live music– but i just can’t pay for that food.

Went there for the first time today for lunch on a co-workers recommendation. Seating is nice and roomy, nice open space. Waitress recommended the fish sandwich, so I ordered one. Co-workers had New England Clam Chowder to start. They tried the soup and all 4 did not like it. Sanwiches came and right away I could tell my fish was way too dark as well as 2 others that ordered fish. It tasted like old burnt oil, and the fries were disgusting. I didn’t even eat half of it and luckily one person ordered a ruebin and only wanted half of it, so I split that with a friend. It was so-so, but I was hungry. We(5 of us) agreed not to ever go there again. Sandwiches run about $ 11.00 and soup was $ 4.50 a cup Hope this helps

Nice atmosphere, we sat out by the firepit, it was a slow evening, nice breeze off the golf course, surprised that we seated ourselves. Our server was initially pretty slow but she was somewhat attentive once she got to us, had a fun attitude too. Hunny had the fish and chips and it was a real disappointment– actually smelled and tasted fishy :(…boo…he didn’t send it back, just ate a little here and there and gobbled up the fries. I had a Cesar and was not impressed by the dressing, it was very mayo tasting… odd. The Ahi was good, not great, I didn’t care for the slaw on the side, it was sweet… the grilled artichoke earned 5 stars, awesome presentation and super tasty. They have a good happy hour here so drinks were on special, pricing was pretty good. Apparently this is a new menu but I think everything we had carried over from the old menu. I will totally go back and try something else, because I think its a nice space. Hopefully the service will be kicked up a notch and we will find something we really like…

Just really terrible food. I had a couple poor experiences last year with my wife, but thought I would give it another chance after a round of golf. Don’t confuse this with Beach Fire on Del Mar even though it is the same ownership, and some of the same dishes. The food was really just terrible, just no other way to describe it. They should pay a little more attention here, Now that I read the reviews looks like I am not alone in my review.

Have visited often, food is usually pretty good more so lately, however it is now time to get some new dinner staff. There is absolutely no urgency in there movement or attention to customers. You sit down and then sit, sit some more and more while most of the employees are standing next to the bar talking and playing with their phones. Its time for the management to man up and kick some butt. This place should be packed.

Service: Erratic but enthusiastic. Our server was definitely not in control of his tables but he made it up with his willingness and enthusiasm to make sure we had what we wanted. Atmosphere: We sat on the patio and it was a warm and sunny day. Surrounded by a golf course, who can complain? The menu: Seemingly impressive with it’s fusion of California Cuisine mixed with Mexican, Hawai’ian and South East Asian influences. The food: Fake & Fail! Being Pinoy and curious, I ordered the Lumpia Spring Roll, but they were all out. What? Out of Lumpia? Note: If they had a Pinoy running the kitchen you’d NEVEREVER be out of Lumpia! EVER!!! Chicken Tenders with fries. The fries were good, but the chicken tenders didn’t even match up to Jack in the Box’s. The sauces that came with the Tenders were at best, nasty. They were either really runny & bland or something that was totally ketchup based. My friend’s Pulled Pork Sandwich(Kalua Pig on Hawai’ian Sweet bread) looked good. Good in a way that if was was super drunk, I’d so eat that shit. Haha, j/k. But the basically put the kalua pig in between sweet bread and slathered it w/bbq sauce. Some thing I’ve done a 100x in drunken condition. My bro and sis-in-law got the: Bleu Cheese Wedge. Not even close to looking appetizing. Fish n’ chips, which sis said that the fish was bland and no good with out tartar sauce. And she also ordered the clam chowder, that she said it was just, ‘alright’. *Note to Irons in the Fire owners. You should fire yourselves for putting out this fake food for people to eat.

This is my experience in this restaurant, this letter was to their G.M. Stay far away from this place. I have never written the manager of an establishment before but after leaving your restaurant last night I decided by god that this is going to be the first. Let me explain. Last night we visited your establishment to celebrate my nieces graduation from San Clemente High school. We had a large party of twelve. We were seated by two ladies and were handed off to a waitress by the name of J***e. The only reason how I know that since she never bothered to introduce herself, I found out by finding her name on my receipt. At first she was personable enough but the evening slid downhill from there. Since being such a large party we asked to have out checks separate, she didn’t seem to mind that at first. It took a few minutes to get our party seated from the restrooms and when J***e did take our orders it became clear that she came unprepared. Your staff had set out specials for grad night printed up on printer paper, half of the party wanted to order from that menu. She made a point out of telling us several times that she has no knowledge of these menus and after we tried ordering from them she kept on having us show her where we were getting our information. I am thinking to my self«not my problem.» Your staff obviously dropped the ball by putting these menus out without going over them with the waitresses. I wouldn’t be mentioning this if two of three bills weren’t wrong at the end of the night. Next up J***e brings over six drinks out of twelve and walks away, and she never returned. After ten minutes we asked another waitress about the six people without drinks. A few minutes after that J***e shows up with the other drinks but fails to bring the coffee that my mother in-law and I had ordered. We asked her to bring the coffee. Fast forward to thirty five minutes later and we are still waiting for one lousy cup of coffee. By this time my mother in-law got bitchy with J***e when she finally came around. J***e tells her«We just started to brew it honey.» Meanwhile two other large tables are seated and they are brought drinks by two waitresses within minutes. We are getting the feeling that we are the ugly step children here! Finally J***e brings us out our coffee and turns and walks away. She didn’t bother to ask if we wanted cream for our coffee, which I did need cream. I didn’t see her till she served dinner and decided to wait to ask for the cream because she was too busy serving twelve dinners. By the time I got cream for my coffee it was close to an hour wait for my coffee. As she was serving our plates J***e set everyone’s plate down real soft but flung my mother in-laws plate, my mother in-law was the one who rightfully complained about her lack of coffee. It was so blatant everyone took notice. I damn near got up and walked out at that point but we had a new grad and that would have been too unpleasant. We were never offered a refill to our drinks after being there for an hour and a half, and no one got a refill for that matter. To make a long story short J***e screwed up two of our bill’s due to her lack of knowledge regarding the special menus. She got extremely snippy and defensive when we asked her about the 20% added gratuity. Our host asked her if it is not common practice to tell someone booking a large gathering to inform them on the phone that this would be the practice and J***e offered up a contemptuous NO. I was most upset with the way we were treated and as far as I was concerned J***e deserved two pennies under my empty coffee cup as a tip. Unfortunately we were paying by credit card so we paid the undeserved 20% gratuity, I was most offended knowing she got a large tip for such a horrible performance. After paying ten people stood outside for fifteen minutes waiting for our host so we could say goodbye. She never came out. Her check was going back and forth between two separate waitresses and she just sat and sat and sat there. Your waitress was unprofessional, unfriendly, extremely rude and could not be bothered with our needs as guests! We were treated like we were putting her out by being there. We are a mature happy, generous lot and we would have been more than happy to pay a large gratuity but what we got was a joke, plain and simple. You had twelve highly unhappy, terribly let down patrons. I have never in my 48 years been treated so poorly. Talk around the table during dinner was«We could get better service at Denny’s!» No, I could get better service in the slums of Calcutta sir, that’s my opinion. You just lost twelve customers and anyone I can steer clear of your restaurant. Remember one thing sir, the customer is king and perception is everything.

This place has a great outdoor patio! That is the main thing that draws me in. Awesome view of the greens with a great big fire pit(hence the name of the restaurant, I suppose!)! You can sit on the side patio and drink and laugh at those trying their darndest to succeed on the driving range. Or you can sit on the main patio and roast by the fire. They just opened this last Winter and I have already seen a price hike, but lunch prices are still reasonable. They are owned by the Beachfire(other local SC restaurant) owners. Funny enough, some of the same items at Beachfire are on this menu for a few dollars less. Guess rent is a lot more on Del Mar than on the Municipal Golf Course. Service has always been great and the portions are decent. All of their foo-foo drinks are golf themed, which I find clever even though my golf knowledge is limited to what I learned in «Happy Gilmore» and«Caddyshack.» Long Iron Iced Tea, Mai Tee — I am sucker for puns! Great for breakfast, too!
