A friend invited me here for lunch. It’s a very modest and quaint place that I hadn’t noticed despite working a couple of streets over for 3 years. I’m glad we came. I ordered a turkey sandwich as many of the other reviews suggest on Unilocal.Unlike 90%+ of sandwich shops, turkey at Gracie’s doesn’t consist of cold cuts. Instead, it’s fresh, carved turkey that is really tender and moist. I went with a full sandwich on sourdough. It was a beast, a delicious beast in that the sandwich was huge and the turkey portions were very generous as well! The size of the sandwich in combination of the tryptophan spike in my at system had me ready for bed — at work, in the middle of the afternoon… on a TUESDAY! I’ll definitely opt for a half sandwich next time. Separately, the staff(proprietor?) was really friendly. We ordered our sandwiches and were ready to pay up front but she insisted that we relax and take a seat and worry about payment afterwards since we were dining in. When the time came to pay, and there was a line, she made sure to let us pay quickly and be on our way. These are some small things that say a lot about customer service here. Thank you!

Really good Turkey sandwich. I order with avocado on home made oat roll. High quality turkey carved off the breast. There is a lot of turkey so I often just get an extra roll and take it home and make two sandwiches out of it. Serves both of us. We have tried most of the sandwich places in the area and this is the best quality. Only downside is the limited hours and they run out of oat rolls later in the day.

AMAZING! First off — you walk into her adorable store front on Laurel Street and you are immediately thrown into your family kitchen on Thanksgiving. The aroma of turkey was amazing. After two bites I was ready to throw down the money! I ordered Gracie’s fresh roasted turkey and ham for our company Thanksgiving potluck and everyone was asking where we got the meat from. Hands down the BEST turkey breast/white meat I have ever had — moist, flavorful, juicy… just amazing. The ham was a special order — and did not disappoint. I now have a «go to» place for turkey… already looking forward to our 2016 company Thanksgiving… thank you Gracie for helping me and our FUN Committee shine!

Their turkey sandwich is freshly carved turkey! Not cold cuts, out of the oven turkey. Great Dutch Role, delicious sandwich. I wish this place was closer to home or the normal area I work in. Very impressed.

First time at Gracie’s after living in San Carlos for 16 years! I got the chicken sandwich and the meatball sandwich, and not the turkey sandwich on oatmeal roll that everyone is raving about. OMG! First bite and you know that all of the ingredients are fresh! Service is also much better than the other sandwich shops in San Carlos, including the locally owned ones. Will definitely come back to try the turkey sandwich!

I LOVE this place! Gracie and Veronica are always so wonderful, and their sandwiches are phenomenal. I love their tuna and veggie sandwiches. They put extra veggies on which are so fresh and if you come in enough they most definitely will remember what you order. Gracie found out I love falafel and she made me a special falafel sandwich which was so amazing and full of flavor. Gosh I could go for a sandwich right now. Make sure you check this place out!

the BEST turkey sandwiches ever. its REALCARVEDTURKEY cut into sandwiches just like the day after thanksgiving. Get the homemade oatmeal bread.(i almost didn’t want to write this because sometimes they run out, and selfishly I want it for myself everytime) It’s a hidden gem at the end of laurel away from the main restaurant strip.

Fantastic fresh, warm turkey sandwiches! The turkey is roasted on site and carved right there. Their homemade oatmeal roll is amazing!

Average sandwich. The bread is good, but the turkey with the fixings is too dry. Maybe if I got cranberry sauce, the sandwich would’ve been more balanced. If so, they should just have cranberry as part of the standard offering.

Excellent turkey sandwiches. There is probably more turkey on the sandwich than I eat at an entire Thanksgiving dinner! I always get my sandwich on the homemade oatmeal roll with cranberry sauce. They are very generous with the toppings and spreads. The dessert items are great here too… I love the Smores bars. Gracie and Veronica are super sweet too!

I had never tried Gracie’s before, but know someone who works there — and i needed to cater a reception at my home, following a memorial service. Sandwiches, salads, a veggie tray and desserts! WOW! everything was SO delicious. The sandwiches were on croissants and small rolls — and one is ample — but most ate 2. They have a great dessert collection. We had 1 platter of cookies and 1 platter of their dessert bars. The brownies are to DIE for; the raspberry cheesecake bars with chocolate crust — OHMY! They were prompt — beautiful, clean presentation, and use the good stoneware platters, and etched glass bowls. NO plastic here! I can highly recommend them — and will definitely use them again.

I am not a huge fan of turkey, but when I ate Gracie’s sandwich with cranberry, I have now changed my tune. What I like about the turkey sandwich is the bread, which always is fresh and has good texture. Turkey is literally cooked the day before — it tastes so fresh and moist.(I think Gracie’s secret is a special brine before baking.) Lastly the toppings like avocado or cranberry are very generous. When moved away for a year, I often thought about how I missed this sandwich. Weird but true. I can come here twice a month and enjoy it each and every time.

This is by far the best sandwich shop in the area. There is no comparison. Try the turkey, try the chicken(when its available), you can do no wrong. Love you Gracie!

My coworker told me about the oven roasted turkey sandwich at this place a while ago and I was in the area visiting clients, so I decided to stop by for a bite. The place was easy to find and parking was decent. I walked in and the place was pretty quiet, only a few people were eating inside. Seating is limited so coming here with a mob of people isn’t the best idea. I went up to the register and ordered the turkey sandwich on dutch crunch, I only went for a half sandwich as I’m trying to maintain my girlish figure. Toppings on the sandwich are pretty basic; mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickles. I will say that for a half sandwich the portion is pretty big. The slices of turkey were generous and I was pleased. First bite, mmmmm, it is good and I had a hard time fitting my mouth around the sandwich. The turkey was a tab dry, but the mustard and produce was able to provide the needed moisture to make my first bite very enjoyable. I gobbled, pun intended, the rest of the sandwich up since it was so scrumptious. I did have to pull the onion since I was meeting another client and ran out of gum. I would totally recommend this place to anyone that is in the area and loves turkey sandwiches. They also had some homemade deserts available; pies, cookies and other sweets.

Best turkey sandwiches!!! Highly recommend coming here. The bread is fresh and soft. The turkey meat is cut when you order and is super moist and delicious. They sell the sandwiches in half orders $ 5 or whole $ 9. Their 3 bean salad is perfect for a hot summer day in San Carlos. They also have really good pies. Grab a sandwich and enjoy it at Clooney’s down the street, you won’t regret it.

I prefer a deli with a huge case that doles out quarter-pounds of this and half-pounds of that BUT this place is awesome at what they do. And what they do is make some of the best sandwiches around. It always smells like Thanksgiving here.(I actually almost moved into the apartments above Gracie’s but I’m glad I didn’t… I’d probably be about 30 pounds heavier by now.) I don’t go there often enough…
