One thing a company can do to piss me off is close early! A couple weeks ago at close to closing I got the front door slammed in my face. Then tonight I just called at 9:34pm on a Sat night to order some food to pick up and they said«Closing in 3 minutes!» If you don’t have loyal customers who do you have? Change your closing time if you want to leave early. Adiós!

Ok, I was born and raised in SF(home of amazing authentic Mexican food) never did I imagine I would come to find my favorite taqueria in San Carlos. Their tacos literally remind me of the ones I have when I go to Mexico. The corn tortilla tastes fresh and their meats are perfectly marinated. My favorites are the asada burrito with refried beans and their tacos. YOUMUSTTRY!

I just want to hop into one of El Charrito’s bean and cheese burritos and drown. Get a burrito, get lot’s of salsa, their chips are okayish. Thanks for being close to home, El Charrito. Thanks for being responsible for my inexplicable weight gain.

A fairly trustworthy source told me this place was even better than the much-loved El Maguey nearby. I finally tried it the other day, and I gotta say… Wow, it’s a really tough call. I love ‘em both now.

Got delivery from doordash so it was a bit colder — no fault of theirs though. Shredded beef enchilada was really good. Needed more sauce though. Carnitas taco was also great. Would like to check it out at the location next time.

I love this place! Burritos are awesome and I love their green and red salsa. Ordering online through Unilocal is very simple and easy!

Great neighborhood taqueria. The super burrito is totes fabuloso. Generously filled tasty tortilla. Great chips and salsas for the side. Green salsa is especially flavorful. We will be back!

Sadly, food was not up to par. Just very mediocre Mexican food. Salsa did not seem fresh and other items were bland. Hard to make a case for coming here when there are so many other better Mexican options within a few miles. On a positive note, the place is open until 10pm which is an hour later than most restaurants in the area. Also the little parking lot out back is convenient. Just wish the food was better.

El Charrito is @Holly & El Camino Real. less than 10 parking spaces. dine in maybe 10ish tables, 2 flatscreens. expect lines when ordering. no waiting area for takeouts. just hang or sit at empty table. menu: typical mex menu. set up for takeouts, cheap/reasonable pricing eats: camarones diabla.(9.99) –9ish tail –on shrimp, small portion of rice, salad, beans, 4 warm tortillas. hot spicy, crunchy is verdict on shrimp, average. –not full, still hungry –chips self service, edge of staleness. –salsa bar, 4 flavors. frijoles refritos: –orders don’t come out in numerical order. so got wrong order glad amigo wasn’t upset. his hearing is better than mine. returned order to him when i look into box and it didn’t look like mine. *server just called number and left food on counter, me and amigo show up. –could have been messy. wasn’t. amigo let me take order… –foods ok, associates ok, system just too chaotic for me. parking’s bad…

A mixed experience for our group. I had the tilapia platter with rice, refried beans, salad, and corn tortillas. The dish was great though the tortillas were bland and too soft. Others had various burritos and said they were alright, but nothing out of the ordinary. All in all a decent dinner for us, but not good enough to make a repeat visit. If you go and like fish, I’d suggest their tilapia platter.

Nothing beats good Mexican food. In fact, I couldn’t live without it! This place is a super authentic taco joint on El Camino Real in San Carlos. My fam and I stumbled upon this place after using our trusty Unilocal app. #itneverfailsus The menu is what you’d expect from any authentic taqueria — I love burritos so I went with the Super Carne Asada(fully loaded) for $ 6.49 and it was awesome. One of thing I really appreciated is that they used loose pinto beans versus refried, which kept the burrito from being overly dense and soggy. My wife knocked down the two taco combo and actually ordered a side a refried beans because she loved them so much; super creamy and seasoned well. Decent chips and salsa bar too, which is included with your meal. The hot salsa had a solid kick and I’m a sucker for pickled carrots and jalapeños so I ate my fair share before we bounced :)

I’ve driven past El Charrito many times, but as it’s located facing El Camino, I’ve never made a point of dropping by, simply because parking/turning can be very annoying on this fast paced road. A night in San Carlos, though, led us here for dinner, because apparently most casual eateries close at 9 pm on a weeknight there(that seems early, but maybe it’s just me). OVERALL. + Solid little no-frills Mexican restaurant + Huge variety in menu items with reasonable prices + Open later than many places in the area ~ Their tacos are hit-or-miss; some we had were delicious, others a bit too salty or gristly for our liking — On-site parking lot, but with few available spaces — Small selection from the self-serve salsa bar I’d be down to try out El Charrito, should I crave a pretty solid taco after 9 pm. Just need to be careful with which meats you order!

I started coming here because they serve a delicious breakfast burrito all day long. Now it’s my go-to taqueria and I’ve tried most of the menu. The food is all great, the service is very fast and all the dudes that work here are super friendly. I’m lucky this place is pretty close to my house!

This place is the best taqueria in San Carlos! I have been to every single taqueria around San Carlos and this is hands down the best price per unit for a super burrito! They are also super fast and can get your order in and out within minutes.

Great taqueria! Fish super burrito is SO delicious, even the bean and rice burrito is delicious. The red salsa is the best and spicy carrots are just spicy enough that you can eat them without burning your face off. Also, horchata has lots of cinnamon and no ice. El Charrito, I love you. The ONLY complaint I have is the parking. It’s a really small lot and hard to get in or out of if there are a lot of cars and Holly is backed up.

Great taqueria I am always satisfied with whatever I order I usually stick with the regular taco or burritos when I find somewhere I like but for some reason I want to try everything hermit all taste so good. Average sized plates enough to fill you up great flavored and spices a huge selection of food to choose from all of the meats are seasoned perfect here Staff are very nice and friendly here they know how to treat their customers so they keep coming back Parking is a little tough very small parking lot but we seem to luck out each time and get a spot You can eat in or take it to go

We stopped in for breakfast burritos before flying home to the east coast. We all got the chorizo. They were very good as was the green salsa. Great stuff!

Stopped here on a rode trip coming back from San Francisco. Very tasty… I had 1 fish taco and 1 super burrito. The burrito on a scale of 1 – 10 was a 7. Fresh ingredients and I can appreciate anyone who serves up refried beans in my burritos. Fish was fresh and salsa bar was DELICIOUS. If you are doing the LA to San Fran trip I would suggest stopping here.

This place is not bad! There’s parking outside. Open till late so it definitely is a spot for late night cravings. Service was great, they even brought the orders to customers. Very affordable.(See menu) 1.25 per taco avg. Received order fairly quick. I got #9 combo — two tacos, rice, & beans. Includes tomatoes & lettuce slices. Only 5.95 $.

Auténtico sabor a comida mexicana, disfrute mucho sus salsas y los tacos de asada. También probé la pancita y no me descripciono, lo recomiendo ampliamente. Para cuándo ataqué la nostalgia por auténtica comida mexicana.
