My fiancé and I went there a couple weeks ago. He’s a Southerner with some mean BBQ skills so we can be tough customers. I ordered the tri-tip, potato salad and collard greens. He got the brisket with Mac’n’Cheese. The cornbread is off the hook!!! Buttery and sweet with a hint of jalapeño. The greens were amazing, the potato salad was BOMB. I sampled his brisket and Mac and both were delicious. My tri-tip was not the bomb. It was kind of cold, tough texture and didn’t seem smoked or even grilled, but like it had been done in an oven. Judging by how amazing everything else tasted, I’m thinking maybe it was just a bad day for the tri– tip. I would definitely eat here agin, but I’ll try something else next time. If you haven’t eaten here before, get that damn brisket. So good you’ll be licking your plate when you run out of bread to sop it up

Cornbread: righteous. Chicken: moist and tender, perfect inside and out. Collard greens: just like Grandma’s(which means gooood). Watermelon, kale, and feta salad: awesome! Great beer selection on tap and in bottles. Nice crew and atmosphere. We are looking forward to going back!

I ordered online for takeout. It was the $ 60 special meal with the cream corn and mac & cheese as sides. I also ordered the watermelon salad. It was good food but I think I have had BBQ at better places though. I used to live in the South and I think I have lofty expectations when it comes to BBQ. I thought the food was good but not something that I thought was 4 or 5 star worthy IMHO. I liked the service. Got my food, paid for it and I was out the door in 5 minutes. They were crowded on Father’s Day for lunch and they had a bunch of takeout orders stacked up. I am glad they are doing well.

Nothing special here. I was staying in town while a family member had surgery(and recovery) nearby. The chili was recommended as a side, and it was easily the best part of the meal! 3 Pigs seems to have adopted the belief that BBQ is simply cooked meat onto which you let the customer pour BBQ sauce. That’s not really BBQ. But it wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t that great, or worth the price.

Ordered a pickup order for 1 lb pulled pork, large Mac and cheese, large cornbread and small coleslaw but was overall very disappointed. I should have checked the order before I left but just grabbed the bag and jumped in the car. I noticed the pork seemed very light so I threw it on my food scale. Including the packaging it was only 10 oz, and barely made enough for two sandwiches. At a steep price, this place definitely isn’t worth it. Portion sizes were quite small and over priced. Waste of $!

3.5 stars but rounding up for their amazing Pig Candy. My coworkers and I came here a long time ago(so the food quality could have changed since then) and I’m finally writing my review now. We came in for an early lunch so they weren’t that packed then, and ordered The Pigs Trough: A Sampler of All the BBQ Meats, Fried Chicken, and Sides($ 99
). My favorites were the ribs(flavorful), fried chicken(good crunch), and smoked chicken(super tender but a little salty). The pulled pork was dry and the tri tip a little chewy. For the sides, the favorites were the quinoa salad, watermelon kale feta salad, and cornbread. The potato salad looked really good but was bland(easily fixable), mac & cheese was ok(nothing special), coleslaw & cucumber/tomato salad was too vinegary. The black bean/corn salad was solid, baked beans ok, but I thought the collard greens were too watery. They also offer a variety of BBQ sauces(House, Memphis, ??, Spicy Vinegar, Spicy, Honey Mustard, ). Our favorite part of the meal though, was definitely the Pig Candy($ 6, ) — a must order for any candied bacon lover! It was amazingly crispy, and had a good sweetness without being cloying. Service was great, and they were really helpful during the ordering process and helping us figure out what to get for our group. Since we only had 6 people we had a ton of leftovers, so The Pigs Trough is definitely a great deal. I would definitely come back for the pig candy, ribs, and chicken, and hope to be back soon! Parking was ok during the time we came, but street parking can be limited.

This place has great décor, but that’s about all I will say is great. I guess the staff was nice and attentive which was also good, but I was just left underwhelmed by the food. My friend asked if the brisket was cooked over wood. The response? «Well, it’s really good; it’s cooked down with onions.» I ordered it any way and there wasn’t a faintest hint of smoke in the meat. I suppose it tasted okay, but it did not appear to be smoked… which is kind of the definition of bbq. I got the feeling this brisket was cooked in an oven. My kids ribs were not served warm and our mac & cheese was coagulated as though it had simply been reheated. It was an okay meal, but if you’re someone who enjoys bbq and expects a certain standard for bbq, 3 pigs missed the mark in my opinion. Smoke your brisket, serve it sliced, add some Okra to the menu and maybe I’ll come back, but I’ll keep making the drive to Dickey’s for now…

Love that this place has a good sized outdoor covered patio seating so you can bring you pup. Every table was full and the included a fur baby — how lucky and it was quiet as there was no yapping. I’ll be back to partake in some delicious BBQ as the smell of charred meat was pretty intoxicating.

I originally was introduced to this place when a colleague recommended that we treat our team to a BBQ lunch out on the back patio. We had a great time, and the service was phenomenal! I should also mention; I have celiac disease(an auto-immune disease which makes it impossible to process gluten) and the staff was very patient and helpful when explaining what I could and could not eat. Since then, I’ve been back many times. My current favorite is the Kale Caesar Salad(with pulled chicken on the side). The staff is always so friendly — especially the manager, Jennifer. It is a bummer that I’m moving out of the area, otherwise, I’d be here far more often!

Two words: Pig Candy! Haha! This is an awesome spot my coworkers and I ran into just walking down Laurel. Best find in a long time! The staff is very helpful, engaging, entertaining, and generous… especially Jennifer! It was a group pf 5 coworkers so we had the Full Rack of Ribs and ½ Smoked, ½Fried Chicken family meal… very delicious! I love that they have awesome beer selection as well. We had a Triple Carmelite with our meal and it was great. The food and atmosphere are top-notch, but the stars of the show are the Pig Candy(candied bacon) and the bbq sauces. We’ll all definitely be back!

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised to see I beat the lunch rush even though I got here just after noon. The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was welcoming. The service was stellar! I ordered the 3 tacos. The pulled look was delicious, the chicken was moist and flavorful, but the smokey brisket was my favorite! My husband got a 1⁄3 rack of ribs which was plenty! The Mac/cheese was average but the deviled eggs were superb! For anyone who likes craft beers, Three Pigs have many to choose from!

Ordered take out and I was pleasantly surprised in the quality and taste. We ordered the family meal for 60 bucks. In the family meal you get a full rack of ribs, choice of smoked or whole Fried chicken, 4 pieces of cornbread and choice of 2 large sides. We got ½ smoked and ½ fried chicken. The smoked chicken was a bit on the dry side and the fried chicken was good. The ribs have a dry rub on them but you can choose to put whatever BBQ sauce you’d like. The cornbread was delicious. We ordered the cream of corn and collared greens as our sides. The collared greens were tasty as they had little bits of ham for flavoring. The cream of corn was on the watery side as I like my cream of corn on the thick side. We also ordered ½ LB of beef brisket. I was expecting slices of brisket but instead got cut of pieces or chunks of brisket. Kind of reminded me f burnt ends. I was disappointed in the brisket. Overall the guys at 3 Pigs are friendly and the food is decent. They have a decent craft beer list as well. I would go back.

Chopped brisket and a half rack of ribs? YES please. This is a fun place with some country music blaring in the background and really friendly service. The employees are very welcoming and took time to explain the food. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. Yum

So glad we came here. It is hard to find delicious BBQ and fried chicken. My husband and I ordered: ½ rack of ribs: does not need sauce. This was fall off the bone delicious! BUT I did want to try some of their BBQ sauces, I mixed the house and spicy together. I felt like crying tears of joy. Fried chicken(2pcs dark meat option). This was the best fried chicken EVER! Yes EVER! Crunchy and super juicy. Imagine the moment you bite into this your eyes roll back and you just start moaning and groaning. Yes orgasmic experience! Taste of the brisket(4oz), this was truly done right. Nice ratio of fat, juicy, and flavorful. I hate when brisket is dry, and they mask it with sauce. Thank you 3 pigs for making brisket the way it should be. Watermelon kale and feta salad is so refreshing. I finished this up and did not want to share anymore with him. Ok I lied I offered just to be nice, but when he declined(bc he knows me) I was like dibs all mine then. Mac and cheese, it was ok. Probably because I was enjoying my carnivorous side I did not care too much for it. MEEEEAAAAAAT! Washed it down with root beer and this delicious organic orange and mango drink. They have beer and cider as well. Décor is awesome just check out my pictures! Hospitable staff and excellent customer service. The owner is so sweet and he gave us a nice treat on the house, candied bacon. I love bacon but to have it candied was the ultimate sweet and salty pleasure for me.(Let’s play the trumpets and have angels singing, heaven’s gate opens.) I hope he makes candied bacon option with sriracha! My husband said they should sell bags of this. Hehehe. I told him that they should cater Genentech’s hohos or events. Bottom line if you have not tried this place what the heck are you waiting for?

Very friendly staff, nice environment too, but the food was absolutely average. I was not impressed by the taste… mac and cheese are too salty and greatly overcooked, fried chicken is good but not really different from what you can find in other chain restaurants… pastrami was ok, but again not great(to justify the price) in my opinion. Also, definitely overpriced…

We came specifically for the fried chicken and enjoyed it. Pressure cooker kept the outside crispy and meat moist. With the chicken, we ordered: — Cornbread: moist and sweet. Enjoyed the corn kernels baked in — Mac & Cheese: boyfriend didn’t like the amount of pepper in it but I liked it Pleasant service, good food.

I’ve been a few times. I like the fried chicken(big pieces, moist, crispy) and the cole slaw(chunky, with apples!). The pig candy is fun. Don’t like their style of mac & cheese. Main reason I don’t go more often is that the chairs inside the restaurant are very uncomfortable. The chairs outside are not too bad but are locked up in the winter.

Came here because the wifey was craving BBQ and we finally had an afternoon all to ourselves without the children! Good: The staff is nice. The beer selection is awesome. The food was flavorful and loved the selections of BBQ sauce! The«Eh»: My food(tri-tip) wasn’t hot or even warm. It was more lukewarm to slightly cold. My wife’s ribs were warm…(dammit, I should have said something) As I was scarfing down my cold meat, I was mentally questioning why I chose this place and wondering if I should say something but I’m not a fan of complaining about food. It was edible and tasty… just on the cold side. Overall– I’d come back but I would highly consider saying something if the food is served cold again.

Best thing I’ve tried so far were the RIBS. Juicy tender and lots of flavor. Love their sauces with the meat. They have something for everyone, spicy, sweet, tangy sauces. Also tried: –Brisket = good flavor but didn’t like how it was chopped up and just tossed in sauce. Maybe I’m just used to thick slices of brisket. –Fried Chicken = good solid fried chicken. very crispy but the pricing is a bit steep. –Cornbread = yum –Deviled eggs = interesting side option, but nothing special. –Mac n Cheese = i like how it wasn’t tooo heavy like other mac n cheeses I’ve had before. –Coleslaw = goes really well with the BBQ. Overall great food, nice staff, & love how close this is to me. :)

Greeted with a smile. Food was extremely expedient. For being a BBQ joint, they had a salad on the menu which was EXACTLY what I wanted, and in the perfect proportion. I had the southwest salad with a side of pulled chicken. The chicken was SO tender, and the flavor was perfect! Boyfriend had the pulled pork tray with 2 sides, macaroni and cheese and baked beans, cornbread, add a drumstick. THEMACANDCHEESEISAMAZING! The baked beans are kinda different, can’t put my finger on it, but very good! Drumstick he said was pressure cooked before fried, so tender. All in all, this place is AMAZING! We’ll definitely be back! I need my own side of mac and cheese!

Brisket were chopped into cubes and sitting in ‘broth’ serve in paper boats. Although they were in liquid, the brisket was very dry and served cold. When I added bbq sauce, it mixed with the liquid with the brisket and didn’t really stick to the meat. The pulled pork was also cold and dry but at least the bbq sauce stuck. The corn on the cob on the menu was actually creamed corn. Pretty sweet creamed corn and served hot. The corn bread was cakey and also very sweet. At their prices, the food should be better. The place is actually very clean and designed nicely. Service was friendly and fast.

Brisket, ribs, tri-tip and chili were ordered. The ribs were the most decent item that was ordered. It was moist and could hold its own without sauce in terms of flavor. The chili seemed to be more beans than meat, so I did not feel it was worth $ 9. The flavor was overall well-rounded in terms of salty, spiciness, tanginess, but it seemed a bit sweet for my liking. The tri-tip and especially the brisket are items I would NEVER order here again. The tri-tip had no flavor, and was almost as tough and as dry as beef jerky. It was chopped up and placed in the chili to help it become edible. I would have been better off purchasing a bag of beef jerky from the grocery store. As for the brisket, I wouldn’t considered it as bbq. It was more like a stew since it had been chopped into cubes and was soaking in a soupy sauce. The flavor was like nothing I had ever tried, but not in a good way. So disappointing.

For $ 25.5, you can get 8 enormous pieces of fried chicken AND4 delicious sides. What’s not to love??? First, the fried chicken is cooked perfectly. The pieces are insanely large so even without the sides, you WILL be full when sharing between 2 people. Secondly, their sides are to die for! We had the cornbread, potato salad, Mac & cheese, and coleslaw. We also got a side of creamed corn for $ 3. ALL delicious!!! I can’t wait to come back next time and try their brisket or ribs. But so far, this place is the end to all southern food cravings! And the workers are incredibly nice too might I add!

Large portions and lots of menu choices. kind of pricy for BBQ but I am from the south and it is a staple there. Chopped brisket was flavorful and tender and the pulled pork was okay. Sides were not my favorite. Corn bread was sort of dry and the potato salad was not a traditional ‘southern mustard’ style but loaded with mayo and dill. I would like to try this place again and give their other sides and Ribs a chance!

Really great BBQ chicken – tender and perfectly seasoned. Their chili is also quite excellent – full of flavor and generous cubes of various meats. I would get those two menu items many times over. =) The staff is also super friendly and the general ambiance is good. The reasons I give three stars only: Their cornbread is a bit chewy, and my the food that my friend and I received was tepid, which I felt impacted the flavor significantly(my friend’s mac and cheese was actually cold, and the chili itself wasn’t warm enough to melt the cheese on top). The collard greens were… not great, kinda soggy tasting. In summary I’d go back again, but only for select menu items, namely the BBQ chicken and the chili. And if ordering to go I might request that they make the food extra hot, just to ensure that it doesn’t come out tepid.

I want to give this place at least three stars but honestly the«brisket» sandwich I had here today is an embarrassment to BBQ. I will second their chicken is BOMB, the pig candy is great, the mac is soso but the BBQ meat does not taste authentic. The brisket that was on my plate today seriously looked and taste like it came from a roast inside a crock pot with some bbq seasoning. The employees are usually pretty awesome. I am sorry 3 Pigs because I have tried a bunch of times, I love bbq but the meat here is not even close.

I haven’t had BBQ in about 2 years. I don’t really eat a lot of pork so that’s the main reason. But I’ve been craving some good ribs for about a month now and I finally decided to give into my craving! I’ve had this place and several others bookmarked to try. As this one is closest to my house, it was the winner. Cute, unassuming place with a very friendly guy named Russell to take your order. They have 5 options for sauce: House Spicy Memphis Honey Mustard Spicy vinegar The ribs come with a dry rub and you can Doctor them however you like. I was a big fan of the house sauce and I also liked the combo of the Memphis and spicy. I ordered a half rack with potato salad and tomato and cucumber salad. It was all tasty. The potato salad was maybe more whipped and less chunky than I’m used to but in no way did that take away from the flavor. The salad was a nice contrast and was marinated in the dressing so it was very flavorful. The ribs were very meaty but not quite tender enough for me. I liked the flavor and meatiness but they didn’t quite hit the spot for me. They have a huge selection of craft beer and seem to be well known for their fried chicken. Sadly I cannot have either due to this pesky gluten issue that’s now a part of my life.

For years, it seemed like great BBQ joints in the Bay Area were few and far between. There is Gorilla BBQ in Pacifica, but not much else for me. Thankfully, things are looking up these days! Now, we have the likes of Cathead’s BBQ, 4505 Burgers and BBQ… and now 3 Pigs! Given their name though, it shouldn’t be all that surprising! As relatively underwhelmed as I was with The Office, their sister/parent restaurant(I was so excited!), 3 Pigs was an overall success. Ironic too, since I only discovered the latter while driving to the former. In any case, the menu at 3 Pigs is no less impressive than The Office. Honestly, there were so many interesting things, it took my friends and I about 15 minutes to decide on what to get. Yet, despite ordering a good amount of stuff, there was still more that I wanted to try! And that’s before mentioning their awesome selection of craft beers. – CHOPPEDBRISKET Tray with Cornbread and Two Small Sides(Collared Greens, Baked Beans)…$ 17 ( ) On the whole, this chopped brisket was leaner than others I’ve had, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The brisket still had just the right fattiness to add some richness to the brisket’s smokey flavors. Plus, the cubes of brisket were so tender! Though, I still prefer my brisket sliced. As for the sides, the Collared Greens didn’t do much for me, but I also can’t say I tried much of it either. On the other hand, the Baked Beans were pretty solid. It was runnier than I had expected, but it was still pretty tasty! Plus, the cornbread was pretty good as well. – FRIEDCHICKEN — Eight Pieces with Four Small Sides(Watermelon Kale Feta Salad, Mac & Cheese, Quinoa Salad, and Cornbread)…$ 25.50 Fried Chicken —( ) Sides —( ) While I would usually prefer a slightly thicker, crispier batter, this was some impressive fried chicken! Even though the batter also could have used a little more seasoning, I loved how it wasn’t super oily or greasy. What’s more, the chicken was really moist and the pieces were all very meaty. Not too shabby! Out of all of the sides we had, I thought these were the best. Unsurprisingly, my favorite was the Mac n Cheese — chewy noodles and lots of cheesy goodness. Not far behind though were the Quinoa Salad(I liked the crunch/texture) and the Watermelon Salad(so refreshing!). – 1⁄3RACKOFRIBS…$ 11 A La Carte ( ) Above all else, I loved their choice of a dry rub over excessive amounts of BBQ sauce(*ahem* Everett & Jones). The ribs weren’t super juicy, but they had a perfectly pink smoke ring, a nice bite, and flavors that were spot on. Too bad I only got to have one piece! To go with your BBQ, 3 Pigs offers a handful of BBQ sauces in various styles(Original/House, Sweet, Spicy, Memphis, Spicy Vinegar, etc.). However, in part because I’m not a big fan of BBQ sauce, my favorite was actually the Honey Mustard — a sweet, modestly spiced complement to the rub’s seasoning on the ribs. If the food wasn’t enough to bring me back to 3 Pigs, I loved everything about the restaurant itself — friendly staff and a clean, bright location on Laurel with lots of parking nearby and a back patio that is perfect on warm summer nights. Plus, they have an awesomely patriotic beer can flag( ). And BTW, did I mention their fantastic selection of craft beers? Yes, it deserves mentioning twice. And a return trip. So many tasty brews to try, along with some many more delicious sounding dishes on their menu — Notorious P.I.G Chili, Locked and Loaded Mac n Cheese, Tacos… yum.

3.5 stars, rounding up to 4. Stopped in to 3 Pigs the other day for my first try. It’s a nice location, bright and clean. Service is good and friendly. You order at the counter then wait for your food to be delivered. The food comes out quickly. They have many meats to choose from and a slew of sides. It’s tough to choose among them, which makes their lack of a ready-to-order sampler platter all the more curious. Tasting several items required some effort and some help from the staff, and it wound up with both too much food and a more expensive meal than I really needed. Ribs — I really enjoyed their ribs. Smoky, meaty, and toothsome. Personally, I like it when my ribs require a little more work to eat, and these hit the spot. Tri-tip — I thought this was fine. Perfectly cooked to a medium rare, but it was basically a thick-cut roast beef. This isn’t why I go to a bbq place. Chicken thigh — This is one of the better pieces of fried chicken I’ve found in the bay area. Crispy on the outside, super juicy meat, and well seasoned. Baked beans — Wonderful depth of flavor. Sweet and savory and a little spicy. I wish I could get my homemade beans to taste anywhere close to this. Collard greens — This was just okay. The greens were cooked well, but it was missing vinegar in the sauce. I was expecting a bite that just wasn’t there. Beer — They has a nice selection of beers on tap. Overall impression is that this place seems solid, but it starts to get expensive if you want any variety. Lots of good options, although not 100% hit rate. I’ll be back to try our more of their menu.

For all the zillions of restaurants on the Peninsula, I’m surprised that there are so few good bbq places around, which is a bit of a bummer if you’re craving it. Good news: 3 Pigs is definitely, consistently, reliably good. If you’re here for the first time, I think a best bet is to order the plate, as it comes with two sides. Then if you’re ordering for two, you can try out two meats and four sides, and get a nice sampling of what 3 Pigs has to offer. I’ve been here twice, and here’s a rundown of what I’ve had: Chopped brisket — nice flavor, really enjoyable. Not fatty. Pulled pork — I think this would be my go-to, if I could only choose one meat. It’s tender, flavorful, and not stringy(in the annoying way). Ribs — Mind you, I’m not a «rib person.» I find them really difficult to eat in general. But I did enjoy their ribs. Not enough to be a «rib convert,» but definitely enough to appreciate them. Baked beans — Nice and sweet. Maybe not the standout side, but really good(and of course they go with the meats really nicely). Chili — Very rich. It works well as a side, but I think I’d eat this on its own. It’s really really tasty. Pro tip: I’d order the beans OR the chili. Order both, and they’ll feel a little too«same-y.» Get one, and try something else that’s very different. Like… Deviled eggs — good but fairly mild, perhaps a bit plain. This is a good thing for some, and perhaps not so for others. I thought they were tasty. Mac & cheese — complements the meats really nicely. You just need a little — it’s very cheesy and thick! Watermelon feta salad — I really enjoyed this. It’s refreshing but also a bit savory, not really sweet as you’d expect. Cornbread — DON’T PASSUPTHECORNBREAD. You get it if you order a plate, but you can also order it as a side. It’s pretty awesome. Other tips: * Do try out the different sauces they have to offer. I really like the Memphis sauce, but they also have house, spicy, and mustard. * Check out the good-quality selection of beers they have to offer! Now, bbq is already super filling for me, so a beer would just put this all OTT for me. But — if I was interested in Q and brew, they have some legit offerings on hand. * To-go is pretty quick, but if you want to eat and hang, the restaurant has a nice casual vibe to it.

Wanting to grab some lunch after a morning at the Hiller Aviation Museum, my original target turned out to be a bust because they just recently started closing on Mondays. No sweat as I turn to my trusty Unilocal app, 3 Pigs BBQ(3PB) shows up in my Bookmarks less than a mile away. We pull up to 3PB and sashay to the counter hoping to grab a BBQ sampler platter to test out their goods. To my dismay they don’t have any kind of platter, so I order up a half-rack of ribs w/two sides and a ½ lb of Brisket. Here’s the deal: Meat: Ribs– The ribs came out with a nice light rub on them, and golden brown. However, the 1st thing I noticed was no smoke ring of any kind, and after my 1st bite my suspicions were confirmed. There was little to no smoke flavor, and the ribs –while still juicy– were tough and a bit too«tuggy» for my liking. They could’ve used a few more hours in the pit, and some actual smoke. 2.5* Brisket– I don’t particularly care for Brisket prepared the 3PB serves it, when it’s chopped up into small pieces, and then to make matters worse they ensconce it in a light, vinegary BBQ sauce to mask the flavor of the beef. The beef itself ranged from tough and overcooked, to big chunks of fat; one second I’d be chewing up a piece of jerky to all of a sudden getting a squishy hunk of fat. The mouthfeel, and overall taste was just not there for me… 1.75* Sides & Sauce: Potato Salad– Uninspiring and pretty bland version of this ubiquitous dish. I wish I would stop ordering it, as it seems like hardly anyone does it right. A little splash of their BBQ sauce made it plenty edible, tho. 2.75* Baked Beans– It took me a few bites to really start enjoying this, but when the flavors homogenized in my mouth it really was quite kick ass. They use pieces of grilled jalapeños in their mix, and it really gives it that extra something that took me a minute to resolve. Very unique, and very delicious! I might have to incorporate that into my next pot of baked beans I make at home… 4.5* Sauces– I was very impressed with 3PB’s selection of housemade sauces, as their collection ran the gamut from Regular-to-Mustard-to-Memphis! Of course I sampled a bit from them all, and my favorites were their Regular, Regular Spicy and Memphis – but they were all quite good. 4* Service & Ambiance– Located in a nondescript area off of El Camino, that’s surrounded by mostly residential area, 3PB has a charming storefront and plenty of street parking. Despite the rustic wooden frame, the interior has a sort of modern, upscale pub feel that is quite pleasant. The gentleman taking my order behind the counter was very nice and patient as he helped me figure out the menu and what to order. Overall, 3PB seemed like a good place to catch a lunch during a workday or bring the family for a nice evening meal with some adult beverages. 4* Value– Prices are bit on the high-end for a Q place, and their lack of combo options really leaves much to be desired. Note to owners: Combo plates/platters are a must for a legit BBQ spot. Other than on a sandwich there’s really no way to order the Brisket or Pulled Pork unless you do it by the pound – what’s up with that?! 2* I don’t usually like to review places after only one visit, but the lackluster food and high prices mean I most likely won’t be back to 3PB anytime in the near future. Which is too bad, because it seems like a pretty nice place with big potential. I might be back to try the Fried Chicken at some point, but who knows when that’ll be. In the meantime it’s a mild thumbs down from your truly.

Pretty good bbq. I got the ¼ rack of ribs with macaroni and cheese and the kale watermelon feta salad. Husband got the ½ rack with corn bread and mac and cheese. The dry rub on the ribs was tasty. They have 3 different options for bbq sauce-regular, memphis, and spicy if I recall. They were all tasty. The mac and cheese was a bit disappointing as it was quite bland, which was confusing as it was cheesy but there was no flavor. The corn bread was very good but quite small. Prices were a bit high for what it is. The kale salad was very good and refreshing, which is a nice counterpoint to the meat and other heavy sides. The extra star is for excellent service. Food was brought out very quickly, cashier was very friendly. I might go again if I’m in the area and wouldn’t hesitate to take friends here, but it’s not amazing bbq. The meat wasn’t fall off the bone.

Armadillo Willy is better. Sad but true. Brisket like beef stew without vegetables or potatoes. Mango salad has jicama not mango. Tiny cornbread. Watery beans & collard greens. Tri-tip was tough and even I can cook it less dry. Everything else was meh. Except the beer and the music and the décor which are all very nice. If you want real BBQ try Everett & Jones in Oakland. :)

I randomly went to 3 pigs BBQ in San Carlos and can not wait to go back. There is a small front seating area and a back patio. The service is great. Besides amazing BBQ they also sell bottles of craft beer. I got the brisket plate for $ 14 and it came with 2 sides. I got mac and deviled eggs — who has deviled eggs? They do — and they are good. It was clean. There is street parking. Service was perfect. Great BBQ — what’s not to love?

Came here half an hour before closing one night. Not busy at the time we visited(which I like haha). Fast and friendly service. Good beers on tap and a good selection in the fridges on the side. Good food and beer is all I ever want and need in life. I ordered loaded mac and cheese with pulled pork. Our orders came out really fast and looked delicious. Mine was simply pulled pork piled on top of the mac and cheese. I expected something more interesting and full when I ordered it but it was still yummy. It was a little colder than I liked though. I need to be back to explore more of the menu when I’m super hungry. Glad to finally try a good BBQ establishment that’s near my house. I actually think I’ll be back next week. ;) Clean place and awesome décor. The staff was extra helpful and continuously friendly. My friend and I were still working on our beers after every other table had left. It was closing time but the staff assured us several times we were okay to take our time to finish. That’s great because we were just about to painfully chug our beers just to get out of their way! :P
