Does not have much to offer. Cannot return certain items due to the size of the store. What is the point of an Express?

Well I came in and found what I was looking for. Thats good. The cashier said Hello soon after I walked in with my daughter. I noticed I got charged an extra $ 1 for a princess board game, but I didnt realize until I got to my car and reviewed my receipt. My daughter was already buckled in so I wasnt going to waste my time returning to mall. Oh well! Double check pricing at the register here.

Brought in returns and they said they couldn’t take them and would have to drive to the big store in San Mateo, because this store in San Bruno is an «Express.» So I had to drive down to San Mateo to go to a regular Toys R Us to make these returns. That’s crap service.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Firstly, this Toys R Us is messy and hard to find. Not to mention that the prices are way higher than somewhere like Target. More importantly, I walked out of this store today because whoever is running the place thinks its appropriate to blast music intended for adults in a KIDS store. I was ready to spend a good chunk of money here today, but after hearing«your sex takes me to paradise» in a CHILDREN’S STORE, I grabbed my toddler and left. I am a prude by no means, but this is SO inappropriate. This place needs a management team that knows what they are doing. I sure wont be bringing my business back to this company anytime soon.

Coming out of JcPenny, I see the word Express and I had the belief in my mind that this place was cheaper or an outlet of Toys R Us. The place just had toys on shelves and floors, no displays of any kind. The store itself looks more like an outlet or warehouse setting. So compared the prices here to Target and this place was charging 25% more on the same products.

Was happy to see this store right outside JCPenney after having taken my 2 yr old to take studio shots. I was planning to get the Cars Mack Truck, but noticed the price was $ 37.99, unlike what I’d seen at a regular Toys R Us store. I had some coupons to use as well, so I came back a week later. I even printed a copy of the online/store price of $ 34.99 to see if they’d do a price adjustment. The cash register(also manager) said she could do the price adjustment, but because they were discounting the price by doing the adjustment, she could no longer honor the $ 5 off $ 25 coupon I brought. What??? The adjusted price was only because it wasn’t the same as a regular Toys R Us. That’s not a discount in my book. So I took my coupons and business and trekked to the Toys R Us in Foster City and got the truck using all the coupons I brought, no fuss. As I left the register at the express store, the manager says to me, «Sorry, there’s nothing I can do.». WHAT??? You’re the manager, of course there’s something you can do. I don’t think she’s all too excited to be working at a toy store. Definitely needs work on her customer service skills. Don’t think I’ll be shopping here in the near future.

I almost forgot that Tanforan has an Toys R Us Express because it’s so hidden in the mall. But I came here the other day because my nephew got a Toys R Us giftcard for his birthday & they accepted it at the«express» location… Yay! You walk in & there’s toys everywhere! They have a wide range of toys & goodies for kids. It’s a lot of boxes everywhere… things on the floor, shelves, walls. My nephew is all about Cars 2, so that’s what we were looking for. There was one little section of Cars 2 with other little areas spread out in the store. For a movie that just came out last week, they didn’t have much to show for a new movie. I actually expected more Cars 2 things. Customer service sucks. The 2 employees just sat behind the register, talked to each other about who knows what, & blasted their music. There were a good amount of people in the store(including some teenage boys causing a ruckus somewhere in the store), so some interaction would’ve been nice. My nephew didn’t like anything from there, so we came out the store with nothing. There are some good deals on things though. No harm in taking a wander when shopping for toys.
