RIP, for all those complainers about this place:(I was very sad that I drove 12 miles to my favorite cheapie Chinese buffet place to find a «For Lease» sign and darkened interior. Where do I go now? The only other decent cheapie is Fresh Choice, grrr. Today, life sucked:(

I will have to admit… I like this place. Okay so it‘s doesn‘t look that great inside, but you get what you paid really. It‘s $ 7 – 8 per person, cheap, all you can eat sushi & Chinese food. A lot of the food is greased. or fried, if you don‘t mind that at all, try it out, because I usually come here once in a while whenever I actually want to go. I would just suggest just coming here if you want that Chinese food craves like I do sometimes, don‘t take your date here.

Can’t give much praise for this restaurant that is known(but not renown) for its all-you-can-eat Chinese/Japanese buffet. Like others have hinted, you get what you pay and at around $ 8 – 9 for dinner, an eat-in will fill you up. They serve subpar Chinese food – such as chow mein(salty and tasty), fried rice, beef & broccoli, fried shrimp, fried battered chicken & fish, vegetable egg roll, sesame ball, wonton soup, hot & sour soup, egg soup(yuck!) – and a small assortment of sushi. Their dessert menu consists of Jell-O, tapioca pudding, almond jelly, canned peaches & Mandarin oranges, select fruits(oranges, melons) and ice cream(green tea, vanilla, fruit sorbet). The only good thing I can say – and this is my personal preference – is that I like to combine the tapioca pudding with Mandarin oranges, and I’d go for the green tea ice cream. I’d recommend getting deli-style Chinese food elsewhere if you’re in the mood and need to be fed.

Melaka is $ 7 all you can eat Asian food buffet. What else do you want? The fried stuff is salty and fried. Nice with beer… if they sold beer. The sushi is okay, I went twice and never got food poisoning. They have ice cream and other desserts. What else do you want? It’s $ 7 buffet.

There are about 10 sushi items, 2 types of soups, the rest are mixed Chinese/Japanese. Chicken wings are good when hot. Got there when lunch about over and no fried shrimps. The cook grabbed out a handful and fried some. Dessert are canned fruits and few type of ice cream and hot bean soup. If you’re on the go for cheap Chinese food without expecting much with a parking lot and near the airport this will be in and out in 45 minutes.

$ 7.95 for lunch and $ 8.95 for dinner This place is a place to go to if you have less then $ 10 and tired of eating mickey D’s! Well what do you expect in this place. It is what you pay for, for some cheap chinese food! The place ain’t so clean nor decent. The food is cold that I felt like they should have a microwave out for us to heat up our food OR always bring in a newly cooked item. Especially the food being near the door makes the food cold. I’d rather dine at iHop instead! At least with an $ 8 meal there I can get 2 items.

OK, I went there for dinner($ 9.99). BADNEWS: THEYNOLONGERHAVEBEEFRIBS! I go here exclusively to chow down on big juicy fatty beef ribs. But since they no longer have it, I don’t think I’ll consider this place again. I ended up eating a bunch of mediocre Panda Express type foods… except that Panda Express is probably fresher. And again, the Broccoli tasted fishy! 1 Star for value. Because for $ 9.99 it’s a lot of food, just not GOOD food. 1 Star for convenience. Ample parking, usually not crowded.

HORRIBLE!!! No more fresh food after 8pm. My family and I came in at 8:30pm on Sunday. The business sign said they were open until 9:30pm. The cooks were cleaning out the kitchen. One third of buffet was almost empty. No common courtesy! Almost close to 9pm, another party came into eat. The waitress told them«we close at 9:30pm, but you can stay until 10pm». I disappointed that didn’t have the courtesy to tell the customers that the kitchen was closed and no new food was coming out. Instead the kitchen staff and waitresses were cooking their own meal and eating at 9pm. So if you’re looking for cold food, bad service, and no manners this is the place. I would give this restaurant ½ a star.

Two and a half stars? Oh come on people! It’s an Asian buffet with nothing fancy about it. Yes, it has all the fried food and starch you can eat, plus meat and seafood if you want it, and a good amount of it is pretty dang tasty. I wasn’t crazy about the beef broccoli, but the hot and sour soup was up there with the best I’ve had. I also really enjoyed the chow mein, and the veggie egg rolls had just a touch of wasabi in them which we all really liked. Also on my plate were fried rice, steamed rice, and greasy french fries. All were at least decent. Desserts range from jello and mango ice cream, to an odd tapioca and potato mix. One dessert had beans in it. I wasn’t so adventurous, but my wife liked it. At $ 8.95 a plate for all you can eat plus diet cokes, it was totally worth it. No flavors were overpowering, and we all enjoyed eating yummy Asian food until we were stuffed. Thanks folks, for your food and smiling service. We will be back.

Decent buffet for the price. Their sushi should be ignored but their other dishes are pretty good. Tasty salt and pepper shrimp and the chicken wings are crispy. Dessert I would avoid as well as the ice cream tend to have ice crystals forming on top. This is the only place I’ve ever had BEEFRIDS!

This is a greasy spoon all you can eat Chinese buffet, both lunch and dinner. Lunch is $ 7.95. Highlights — anything deep fried like the flounder and salt and pepper chicken wings which are very meaty. Drink lots of hot tea because the food is very oily. I eat here like once a year, and came today towards the close of the lunch hour around 1:45 p.m. We were forewarned upon entering that they weren’t going to cook anymore hot food since they were going to close down at 2:30 p.m. and reopen for dinner late. Scoped out the buffet, and just enough hot foods like the chicken wings and flounder left so no big deal for us. We decided to eat here and eliminate dinner later. First visit for my husband so he ate more than he should have. Got home, and he started to get an upset stomach. Too much too fast.

I used to come here on a monthly basis. Cheap all-you-can-eat dinner for $ 10. They serve the typical oily, Asian-Chinese dishes with fruits and ice cream for dessert. No complain but be warned that you should be careful if you have a sensitive stomach(not a fan of super-oily foods). Hole-in-the-wall-ish. Watch your steps when you’re heading the restroom. Parking is usually easy to find.

pretty cheap place for an unremarkable Asian buffet. Food isn’t the greatest quality(unless you like fried, salty, not very fresh) but you get what you pay for. Food is food, I suppose, but wasn’t too sure about how sanitary things were at that place — maybe it was just the grease everywhere — tables, food bar stands, serving handles, etc. I’m not the biggest fan of Asian buffet but if I’m ever in the mood, I’ll probably be looking elsewhere next time. but if you’re in the mood for cheap eats to consume in mass quantities, this is the place for you!

Ever had that feeling that you ate so much and your about to give birth to a food baby? ARRGHH!!!(Push! Push! I can see the head!). Or had the feeling like a alien is about to punch out of your chest! I promise you that, when you get a buffet here at Melaka. You will get full! It’s just that great! Now, since I’m probably the most famous person to eat at this location, let me state you something. There use to be Lyons and use to be Malaysian. Now it’s Chinese and junk food. Before that, it use to be a Dennys. The lunch buffet is 7 bucks as dinner is 8. This is a lot cheaper than Moonstar and Beijing Buffet. Cheap prices equal cheap cook food. Food here are a hit or miss. Since it’s cheap food, the way it’s affects your stomach differents from person to person. For myself, I have no problem with the taste of the food or got sick from it. I think some people who talks bad about the food are spoil little brats and have weak stomachs!!! LIVE A LITTLE!!! You pay cheap! What did u think, you’ll get!?! Now that I got rid of my rant at some people. Let’s here from somebody who isn’t bias. The food isn’t that bad. Honestly it isn’t. I will go one bit further than most. I will review nearly everything they serve on the buffet for you to tell you what was pretty good, and what’s not to try. You can take it or leave it. It’s from 1 – 5(5 being the best, 1 don’t try) Egg Roll: 3 Pot Sticker: 4 Fried Curried Potato: 1 Wonton Soup: 1 Fried Wonton(cream): 5 Sushi: 5 Salt and Pepper Shrimp: 5 Fried Fish Fillet: 2 Sweet and Sour Pork/Chicken: 3 Fried Chicken Wings: 2 Broccoli Beef: 2 Green Beans Beef: 2 Fried Sweet Potato: 1 Almond Tofu Dessert: 4 Fried Banana: 5 Spring Rolls: 3 Tempura Veggies: 2 Jello: 1 Pudding: 1 Salt and Pepper Bean Curd: 2 Assorted Vegetables: 2 Vegetable Fried Rice: 3 Dough Ball: 1 Eggplant Black Bean: 1 BBQ Pork Fried Rice: 3 Chow Mein: 4 Ice Cream Avacado: 5 Bokchoy: 2 Sesame Balls: 4 Korean Ribs: 3 Bitter Melon: 1 Fried Calamari: 3 It’s somewhat clean, the customers are the ones that make it different. The one that got me was the ice cream scooter in water and freezer.(cause the water where you wash it off look dirty as hell). It was kinda iffy. I took the risk cause I’m a MAN. Macho Man. Lol. The staff can be rude at times. One Chinese guy didn’t help us find seats, almost end up taking the seats near bathroom. The cashier guy was cool. My friend love the place as I like it as well. The parking was easy. It can get crowded in here. The only bad thing I witness was a customer farting in front of me. GEES woman, what did you eat? Oh yeah, I know.(look at the food stands at the resturant) Overall; cheap food for cheap price, watch out for piggy customers. OINK! OINK!

satisfactory. What could you expect for a CHEAPASIANBUFFET? You can’t get much out of it. it’s ok food. I usually grub on the chicken, fried won ton with cream cheese, chow mein, fried rice, beef & brocolli, and sushi. It’s a great place to just fill you up. Mind you, Melaka’s dishes are packed with MSG! So if that doesn’t bother you, grub on. it’s Cheap! Three stars = Melaka!

Something Pretty disgusting about warm sushi and people reaching down into a freezer to self-serve ice cream with a scooper, and dragging their HAIR in it!(OVERANDOVER) This place sucks balls. P. S. When my boyfriend went to the restroom, someone was in there vomiting, so…

More like Blehhhhlaka’s… Salty, MSG’y(and I typically don’t mind msg), and just plain super salty. You get what you pay for! This is probably one of the cheapest buffets anywhere. A notch below Beijing Buffet, sooo many notches below Moonstar/Todai/etc. Melaka was a Lyon’s aka Denny’s before and was wayyy better than the Blehhhlaka’s now.

The first time I came here, I sat down with modest expectations. From the exterior to the initial impression walking in, I really did not expect much from this place. They have a modest variety of items to choose from, some that are fairly standard offerings and a few that are different. Their fried chicken wings are probably one of the better items, and they have a little freezer box where you can scoop out your own bowls of ice cream. Outside of that, their food is not exactly good. There are a number of fried items, and their sushi offerings, while appreciated, are not going to bring you back for more. The rest of the food is about what you would expect for a place that is so modestly priced. Which brings me to their best attraction: the price. They are priced very low, which probably appeals even more in this economy. However, in the two times I have been here, their price has increased already. For a few bucks more, I’d rather just go to a better buffet to get myself full — or even better, skip the buffets all together and just get a solid meal at a real restaurant.

Melaka is probably the cheapest buffet I been to at $ 6.95 you can’t really beat the price. Like everybody else says, the trick is to only go to Melaka maybe a few times a year at most. In my opinion the food really isn’t that bad… but it gets extremely repetitive due to the limited selection. Yea, there’s a lot of fried food… the sushi they due have is extremely mediocre but what were you expecting for $ 7? Come to Melaka when quantity is more important than quality! I give this place 5 stars for VALUE haha

Melaka Buffet may not be big as the Moonstar Buffet or Beijing Buffet. I have to say that Melaka Buffet has enough food to fill you up and not too expensive… The food items that, I like the most would be the steamed white chicken, sushi, steamed wontons, generals chicken, I also like their steamed yellow rice… Five Stars For This Melaka Buffet Restaurant!!!
