Carrie’s BBQ & Soulfood

First time trying carrier’s this past week. I had the brisket and pulled pork both so tender, juicy and delicious. Greens were a bit too salty, cornbread muffin was dry, beans were rich and tasty. Service was great and with a few modifications I know they are destined for greatness. When I rate a place I rate it in an overall experience and let me just start out by saying that even though the food was good it was not an inviting atmosphere. As you look out the window there were a group of men playing dice in the parking lot, a lady that kept yanking on her baby pit-​bull leash in such a rough manner that I began to tear up (I am an animal lover). There was people drinking, they must have been family or close friends given that they were just chilling with such comfort. but they had to go because they are making business look bad which is unfortunate because they have such potential. I’m from the area and I am no stranger to these type of scenarios but I must remind everyone that this is a place of business.

Get your ass here. Bbq is killer. Mac and cheese I can’t even explain. Bbq soooo good makes you wanna slap your momma.

Let me put it this way, prices are too high. Potato salad is store bought, beans r store bought, their more concern about profit then quality, and the rolls were Hawaiian rolls store bought, so many short cuts, the sauce was weak, but the couple were nice, so much potential, suge was much, much better when he had it, oh and mac&cheese terrible,

Omg! So good!!! Like grandma used to make. Comforting, REAL soul food!!! Totally coming back here again. Great customer service too!

Man. This place is delicious. I’m going to start out by saying I don’t usually like yams or bbq sauce. However, both were extremely delicious at this place! I got pork ribs and brisket with Mac & cheese and yams. The Mac & cheese and yams didn’t make it home for the picture. Although the brisket was a little tough, it fell apart with a slight touch and was seasoned amazingly. Also, the staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. The two meat, two sides plate was about $ 16.99, totaling about $ 19 with tax.

Get the pork ribs! Mac and cheese too. So good! We’ve been here 5 or 6 times and love it. Small family owned place and it shows.

So far my experience here has been great. Customer service has been great! Beautiful people clean establishment and a Midwest down south feeling. Smells great so far haven’t eaten anything yet but I get the feeling I will be well satisfied… So I got home with my food and it was off the chain! Off the Hook! Mac and Cheese wasn’t the super cheesy dish I’m used to but it was really good the way they make it. Ox tails were fire!!! Oh and the catfish was actually catfish! Thick meaty thin crusted deep fried well seasoned catfish! The greens were well cooked and seasoned perfectly. The red beans and rice was the business with a smoked taste to them. I will definitely be going back there.

Thank You God for blessing this food. This food is BBQ done right. Finally A place to go to satisfy that good olé southern taste I miss. I have had the ribs the tips the pulled pork and the chicken. very very very good and portions amazing and huge good cause I am greedy. I pray God keeps them here may the food stay the same and their business grow. Sunday I am trying the oxtail. May God bless my wallet cause I may never have to cook again thanks too Carries BBQ.

I have been anxiously waiting to try this place especially after all the great reviews on here. Today was my lucky day… we ordered a full slab of ribs, 3 hot links, greens, Mac n cheese, baked beans and sweet potatoe pie. Shockingly everything was fantabulous! My son is the pickyest eater I know he hates greens and sweet potatoes but the gals down at carries got him to try theirs and he loves both things. We all loved it!!! 5 stars Carries I rarely give 5 stars but you guys rock! You gained 3 regular customers today. Thank you for doing bbq right.

Great Food. Great Staff. I’m never disappointed. PLUS, for those of us who don’t eat pork, they have lots of options including the sides. The beef hot links are off the chain.

The BBQ is good. The brisket is super soft, and their sauce is really good. We also ordered the pulled pork, and the rib tips all fantastic. The side we ordered were small. I wouldve expected larger sides for meal that we purchased (they were more like individual servings). The staff was accommodating, and polite. They dont have paper plates, so dont think youre going to pick this up and eat in the park. I would come again.

BBQ here is really good! Had rib tips last week.Bomb.tried their Brisket today .best I’ve ever had!

Sitting here after driving 20 miles and they are not open. Says open Sunday’s 12 – 6. No one there. Chairs up in the tables. Really disappointed. No notice of why they are close. No answer to phone call. No message. Won’t be back.

The bbq beef ribs were good portion and tasty. The sides were good too. The beef brisket was delicious with yams and beans. The peace cobbler was very large portion and nor too sweet just right.

Ordered 2 meat combo plate with brisket and pork ribs & 2 sides of Mac n cheese and greens!!! Plentiful and flavorful!
Usually we go to Compton to Bludso’s for our bbq, and it is now a true blessing to have such a great place so much closer to home!

This place is what soul food is all about. The smothered pork chops and rice my wife had the brisket with macaroni and cheese and potato salad everything was super delicious real Creole cooking will definitely be a return customer

Dear college kids and not so college kids visiting your parents in SB and surrounding areas during vacation,
I know you’re looking for somewhere different to eat. You’ve exhausted the usual spots and are trolling Unilocal for something new. Come here. Bring a friend just in case you forgot what Baseline and Medical Center can be like. Plus, food like this tastes better when shared with good company; the ladies working the restaurant will go out of their way to make you feel welcome in Mama’s kitchen.
The food is good. Homemade. Yams and Mac and cheese were personal favorites with the pulled pork being my favorite of the meats I tried (ribs, brisket and hot link).

1 pork rib slab with 2 sides
1 pork rib lunch
1 mac and cheese
1 yams and greens
1 black eye peas
1 potato salads
Total $ 81.92
The service was good. They did what they had to do…
However, as I sat here waiting. …Their 3^rd day…
Will be ok…
