I love Whataburger but this location sucks. Over the last few months I’ve consistently gotten cold food and have had to wait a really long time to receive my order. I’ve dined here on multiple occasions because it’s so close to my house and I’ve come at different times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I’m always disappointed. Its taken a while but I’ve learned it’s better to drive an extra few miles down the road to get a good quality whataburger.

I recall $.05 coffee refills, as long as you kept your mug. (Long before the days when you could refill just about anything for free.) Studying through the night with friends from art history, physics, and others, dumping fries on the tray as a potlatch for those who ran out of money refilling their coffee. Now I can say that the Whataburger logo still takes me back to the time when I counted change more than calories, carbs and LDL. Whataburger food tastes are consistent among Whataburgers and far above fast food competition. They offer a wheat bun that tastes better than the white, but nutritionally may serve as no more than a reminder that you’re trying to be healthier. Whataburger condiments are stand alone in the support of a Whataburger experience, I always feel greedy asking for one more spicy ketchup than I’m sure I’ll need This Whataburger location could use some updating, but is still a great location for lunch

Whataburger is the taste of Texas. My first exposure to the orange and white came in the form of a classic A-frame drive-in back in the late 1960s, and Whataburger continues to be my favorite fast-food hamburger. And its intoxicating combination of mustard and chopped onions informs my hamburger taste to this day. This location on Grissom Road is a representative example of the chain. Service is good, and they keep the place pretty clean. I swing by about once a week, and everyone is always nice. Here are a couple of tips to enhance your Whataburger experience: 1. Order the chocolate malt(not shake) and ask them to go heavy on the chocolate and heavy on the malt. It doesn’t cost any extra and it really gooses up the flavor. 2. If you just want a quick snack, order the $ 1.25 Justaburger. It’s the only kid-size hamburger I know of that tastes every bit as good as the flagship version. As an aside, there are those who suggest that In-N-Out Burger is better than Whataburger. These people are dangerously insane and should be reported to the authorities lest they pose a threat to decent, right-thinking folk. Like the old song says, «Whataburger, what a burger, just what a burger should be. The unbeatable, unbelievable, bigger better burger, Whataburger.»
