The order: three kids meals — two chicken nuggets and a cheese burger. Every. Single. One. Was. Wrong. No fries in two of them, and no cheese on the burger — all of which I paid for.

It’s Whataburger, Texas owned and family proud. Always giving great service at this location. Better than any other chain around.

Every time I go to Whataburger, I’m reminded of the old days when orders were written down on the paper bag that your food will be packed in. It has been years since I’ve eaten there since I now live out of state. So, I told myself that I would treat myself there. Mmmm, the burgers are still good… and big! The fries were fantastic! It doesn’t take much to impress me with a simple burger and fries. Whataburger doesn’t just do «good enough» but ensures that my meal was fantastic! I do like how the staff brought out your meal and then a condiment tray for your selection.

They don’t have Whataburger around Chicago, so when I went to Texas this past week on a business trip, I had to make a stop for a burger. I don’t know what it is about their burgers. The meat seems better, the lettuce and tomato fresher. I’m not a fast food person — but I do like well made hamburgers and I did enjoy my lunch. When will Whataburger enter the Chicago market? Chik-fil-a seems to have done so and done okay

Call it West Coast bias, but my first experience at a Whataburger wasn’t all what I expected it to be. Granted, my patty melt was everything a patty melt should be: melted chedder cheesy filled goodness on slices of golden buttered white toast. But it wasn’t in the least bit memorable. Maybe I blame all my Texan friends who convinced me Whataburger was«going to be the best burger I’ve ever had.» That’s what you guys get for putting such high standards in this California girl’s head. In-N-Out for life.

Usually always very busy but they manage to get you through the drive-thru pretty quick.

Okay… here’s the truth ladies and gents, Whataburger is not what I expected it to be, at all. I heard from a lot of people who live in Texas that it’s one of the best fast food chains, but being from California I don’t think you can beat our fast food joints. The only thing I would accredit them for would be the mustard in their burgers. The mustard was yum! I tried the bacon cheeseburger and wished that I had an In-N-Out burger instead(for those who do not know, the west coast’s version of Whataburger). It was worth trying, but I would have expected better. It gets 3 stars because you get your moneys worth, talk about 5 inch burger and because their mustard was yum-o!
