Service… Food takes way to long, and our fries were not even they way we wanted them. Had to wait yet again for them.

It’s whataburger and I don’t much more explaining than that. The place is right off the highway for I10. The parking lot isn’t spacious so be careful. As a matter of fact where the drive through exit comes around you have to watch carefully for cars due to a blind spot. I got in and washed my hands right off. The restroom was clean and surprisingly so because most whataburger aren’t. I got in line and wasn’t sure what I wanted. A nice young lady who smiled the whole time kept trying to help me figure something out. I made my order and joked my chicken tenders would be kicked around because I wanted them fresh. She laughed and said no and you can watch them cooking. I went to a table in back corner and sat down. I was distracted by my cellphone initially. A moment later I noticed a dead fly hanging out on my table. I moved to another area only to look back and see more flys at my previous table. I’m not sure what needs to be done but wiping the table would be a start. My food came out hot and fresh which was better than I have experienced at any whataburger in the state in a long time. Overall not a bad location and friendly staff.

I love Whataburger, but this location is constantly getting my order wrong! My son is Diabetic and instead of giving him Diet coke they gave him regular coke. When we did get home I caught the mistake in time. He only took a few sips but It could have been a disaster.

Service was polite, food came out hot and fresh. Not as pretty as the ads on the walls but the burger was indeed tasty. Onion rings were ok, but a little dark and greasy rather than crispy. something might be a little off with the deep fryer. I would have given more stars if I hadn’t dined in. The dining room was filthy – wrappers everywhere, tables with abandoned trays, floor needing mopping. It was after midnight so perhaps this is a night shift issue. Regardless, they were pretty well staffed so I’m not sure why the dining area was so neglected. Also as a heads up this location is open 24 hours despite Unilocal’s indications that it closes at midnight.

Obviously your just not normal if you don’t love Whataburger :) however I must say that Lidia that works the dine in floor was just wonderful. So attentive to a full restaurant of patrons and going above the normal job description. She asked an older man dining at the Table next to me if he would like a glass of water as he was eating his meal without a drink. He declined, then a few minutes later changed his mind. She walked by and said«you know a glass of water sounds great!» She respectfully brought him water all while having a good attitude and smile on her face.

I did enjoy the Burger. actually it was a Texas Patty Melt. on Texas Toast. with two big pieces of meat, Cheese, sauce, pickles… and onions… grilled to MY perfection. And of course the«French Fires» and a hughmongous Diet Dr. Pepper!!! I ate it at my table with my BBQ10 … All … by… my… self… For this day… it was the best Solo Lunch ever… Staff is great. attentive… and friendly… Dang good for a Large chain like this…

I’m a Californian travelling through Texas, and was told that Whataburger was the equivalent of Cali’s In-N-Out Burger, so I had to try it to judge for myself ~~ and it is better than most fast food chains for sure. I ordered a #4(jalapeño and cheddar whataburger) and I have to say it was pretty good! I would eat there again for sure when travelling through the area. Are whataburgers better than In-N-Out? I don’t think so. whataburger is too plain for my tastebuds. I like the In-N-out animal style burger because it’s so flavorful. I did think the FRIES were better than In-n-outs for sure though. And my mom did like it better than In-N-out…so it’s just a matter of taste. If you are curious about whataburger or are craving a good, cheap, quick meal or hamburger… I would recommend here.

I have never written a review of a fast food restaurant on Unilocal before because, well, it’s fast food. You’d think they’re all the same — mediocre service, cheap-but-will-do food, and questionable bathrooms. But, my friends, this Whataburger on Roland Road in San Antonio is different. Very different. First off, Whataburger gets loads of kudos points in my book for many reasons — 24-hour access to decent food, and a good variety at that. You also get that local, community feeling at Whataburgers, as many of them are involved/sponsor events/school games/etc. Plus, Whataburger’s ever-changing featured sandwich specials are. THEBOMB. The 5−3−1 and the Chophouse Cheddar Burger, just to name a few. Anyway, as far as this joint goes, the food is just a little bit better here, than at any other Whataburger. My burger buns were toasted just a bit more, to give it that crunch, but still being soft on the inside. My meat patties tasted fresher and more thoroughly cooked… and really, they were Pappas or Goode Company quality, and that’s saying something. Plus, the manager — at least the one who was on-duty when I went, on a Friday around 2 p.m. — has some of the best customer service skills ever. From greeting you, looking you in the eye(watch [no pun intended] at how few people do this), double-checking your order, triple-checking it before he hands it off to you… the man’s freaking awesome. Yeah, there are a bunch of independent, great burger joints in Houston, but at 4:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning, go to this Whataburger and get you a lil’ somethin’ special!

Being from California, and on our Texas vacation. We had to try this Texas tradition. We actually enjoyed it, Now is it better than In-N-Out or Fat Burger? I don’t think so! But I am not saying this place is bad. I really liked the wide selection on the menu. At In-N-Out you can have a burger and another burger. I had their honey BBQ chicken sandwich on a Texas toast. It was great. Yes I would eat here again. By the way, of course my daughter had the cheese burger. Was a lot better than some so called cafes?

I LOOOOVVVVEEEETHISPLACE. This is the best burger I’ve ever had — sorry BK. Being a native Texian I’m not trying to toot my horn — but this burgerjoint is the only burger place in the world I don’t have to add anything onto. Talk about a perfect hamburger. Perfecto!!! Delicious. Juicy. Tender — just so damn yummy. Each time I go back home to visit — I have to have one departing from the airport and one coming back to the airport and tons in between. I’m a hog when it comes to this burger. If you’ve had a Whataburger — you know what I’m talkin about. For those who haven’t who are stuck on that Sonic, BK, Micky D’s, you just don’t — go to Texas and get a whatburger and you will understand what I’m saying. And remember — everything is big in TEXAS — even the burgers!!! If you live in Cali — the closet one will be Arizona.

My farewell to Texas. Three Words: Honey. Butter. Biscuit. My friend insisted I stop on my way to the airport, so dutifully and groggily, I pulled my rental car up to the window at this rustic-looking location. While I had already made the decision not to have any coffee for fear it would impede my ability to sleep on the plane, I knew he would never forgive me if I didn’t try this. My three dollars were a paltry admission to breakfast shangri-la. Imagine a soft, fluffy, crumbly biscuit, married to a blushing young slice of a tender fried chicken breast, then slathered with a honey butter sauce. As I bit in, a single tear rolled down my cheek, which was still wrinkled from the pillowcase. Sure, it may have been because I slept in my contact lenses and the tear was a desperate attempt by my eyes to hydrate my peepers, but just maybe, it was a tear of joy commemorating the discovery of truly great road food.
