The running trail for UTHSCSA is quite an interesting one. If you stay on campus, there is a 0.5 mile concrete track that is in front of Gold’s Gym on Babcock and Merton Minter. In addition to the track there are tennis courts, volleyball courts, and random playground equipment for kids. Scattered around the track are pull up bars and various work out stations. There are a couple big fields that students/staff play cricket, soccer, football, etc on and I think you need to register with student affairs(or maybe Gold’s Gym) if you are scheduling a game. That being said, you can also choose to leave the concrete track and then run a ~1mile path all the way to the main entrance on Floyd Curl near Medical. Once you do that you can decide to jog down the sidewalk of Floyd Curl for ~1 mile to the Greehey campus for a 2.2 mile loop. It’s honestly convoluted and I didn’t enjoy taking the trail too much since it doesn’t seem like it’s maintained very well and if you aren’t paying attention, you could probably sprain your ankle in a depression on the ground. There also aren’t a lot of people running the trail so I’d be weary of doing it at night(trail closes at dark anyway), but I wouldn’t really go out unless it was clearly light outside. Meh, I’ll probably stick to the 0.5 mile loop and just run it a bunch of times. In case of emergency, reach UTHSCSA Police at 210−567−2800.
