Terrible experience. Well I live in San Antonio for 5 years now and bad customer service is very common here nothing new. But my experience was kind of frightening. I went to the store to buy my child a toy he really wanted when I went to ask for help I seen a group of employees in one aisle joking and laughing. I walked up and asked one of the guys to help, suddenly the whole group became quiet the old turned and look at me as if I came and disturb a party. One lady said. what you need. Really what the fuck? Seriously… it seems every time I ask for help people got irritated. they didn’t want to do their job. whatever just terrible customer service I left and went to Walmart and found exactly what I wanted and cheaper in the Walmart employees were actually more nicer than those at Toys R Us I will never be returning to this Toys R Us again there are three and San Antonio for a better experience avoid this one I was going to talk to the manager but after meeting I realized I would just be wasting my breath…

This store is pleasant enough. Negatives: Not impeccably clean, not overly friendly or helpful, no one ever around to ask questions. Positives: Fairly well-stocked and good selection, lots of character items, Babies R Us side to do shower registration. I wish they had some of those big plastic toys, like the kitchens and cabins, lower to the ground and more accessible for kids to try out before purchasing, though I understand the inventory control issue there. I do like that they have some nursery furniture set up to view out of the package. It was a big help to be able to take down the strollers and see the car seats unpacked. 5 stars= Driving across town just for this! 4 stars= I would recommend visiting. 3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars= You might be able to drag me in. 1 star= I will definitely not be returning.

This Toys R Us deserves more than two stars, so I give it three. The aisles always seem to be a mess and they’re constantly understaffed. Like it would kill Geoffrey to hire someone else to cover another portion of this 50,000 square-foot box. And it doesn’t ever really seem like it’s that busy beyond the holiday season, so I personally can’t explain the disaster in the aisles. A few times, the employee who is there couldn’t answer basic questions about toy selections. Some toys are invariably marked either higher or lower than their actual prices. I guess it’s a good thing that they offer scanners for one to check the price themselves. The positive about this ‘Rus is its location — the chain finally decided to service SA with more than just one store. I also like their extended hours during the holiday season, and that they combined with a Babies R Us which sells adorable stuff. Finally, their electronics department rivals Best Buy’s gaming section, and overall, they do still offer a very wide variety of toy types and brands. I just wish there was an employee there to tell you about it.

This new Toys R Us/Babies R Us has ultimately been a big let down. It’s not organized very well, it’s ALWAYS a mess, and customer service is lacking to say the least. My last time in the store, I tried multiple price-checkers, only to find that none of them worked. After not finding a single employee walking around to help me, on a Saturday, during a sale, I finally decided to get in a line at a register. When I finally got to the actual checker, I had to ask if he was even taking customers, since his light wasn’t on. He then informed me, that like the price-checkers, his register light wasn’t working. Considering their tendency to overcharge on their toys, I was hoping for a bigger babies department out of this new location. Though they do have a large furniture and stroller section, the apparel is not much to choose from. I only go into this store once per pregnancy for a new stroller and bedroom set for my baby, but(obviously) find myself buying clothes a lot more often. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a larger selection of the things that make people repeat customers? Save your time, and visit the location at the RIM instead. They have a much better selection of… well, everything. They always have a big F.A.O. Schwartz section, fully stocked, and waiting for me to blow my budget on!

Two open check out lanes, 1 person for returns… LOTS of customers… a parents nightmare. Both check out lanes were open in the same aisle causing all customers to be scrunched into the same checkout aisle with baskets, kids, husbands and over sized boxes and my Texas sized purse. Waiting in line in one thing, But to be huddled in a crowd… no, no, no. Toys R Us please open the checkout lanes away from each other to reduce the checkout madness. I’ll have to make it a point to come during the week instead of the weekend. Employees look a little frazzled.
