The Village Of Hampton Cove

Im a current resident at the Village of Hampton Cove and I have been very satisfied with all the friendly staff at this apartment complex. If I have any issues they are always prompt and friendly with everything. I am very happy with living here. Thank you! :)

Excellent location, great front office staff. Very accommodating. The attached garage is a must have. Quiet, safe neighborhood that is pet friendly.

I’ve lived here for about a year and I don’t have any complaints. It’s a very nice and quiet complex! The staff is always friendly! Saturday morning breakfast is awesome! We’ve had to call maintenance just a couple of times and they always come to fix the problem as soon as possible. Haven’t had many problems here at all!

I have been here since January 2015 and cannot complain. The staff is prompt with issues at hand, responding too emails, and getting answers fast. They have all been polite and courteous in all aspects. The apartments are well taken care of, as with the grounds.
As far as neighbors, I am from a small town in Louisiana and used to neighbors gathering for cookouts or just friendly conversation, not here. The neighbors are very self contained. I’ve helped out a few here and they act like we’ve never met before when seeing them a few days later. Not sure what to make of that yet. LOL!
The amenities are awesome. They keep the pools up very well. Heck, they even have a nice putting green. I really like having a garage and a fireplace. Not that I have used the fireplace yet, but plan to. The covered parking cost extra but is extremely nice to have also.
The ONLY complaint I have, the internet service is terrible and cell service sucks for this Cingular user. I do realize the cell service is out of their hands and do not hold that against my rating.
All in all, I would refer anybody to live here.

I recently moved into these apartments and they have been great so far, I’m renting the upgraded 2 bedroom and all the upgrades are high end and clean. Maintenance is awesome they always come the day I make my work order. Apartments themselves are very nice and are on a quite road which is a plus. Pools and fitness rooms are always clean and staff are very nice and helpful I definitely recommend these apartments

They remodeled two bedroom was gorgeous and very modern. I loved the all wood flooring. I’m looking forward to seeing the one bedrooms! I hope I can snag one.

I am giving Hampton Cove one star because of their handling of pets. If you don’t have a pet, this is an A-​OK apartment complex. If you have a pet, I can’t emphasize enough the fact that you should look elsewhere for an apartment.
I lived at Hampton Cove from summer 2012 to summer 2014, and I regret it. The apartment was quite nice, and the front office staff and maintenance crew were always on point. They bent over backwards to help, and I can’t emphasize enough how helpful they were. Muriel, the manager, is the source of my issues.
I had a large dog who was properly registered with Hampton Cove. Of course, since this is an apartment, I took the dog on multiple walks every day. Another resident complained about my «scary» dog multiple times. Muriel, if she knew how to properly manage, would dismiss these complaints because the dog I was walking had always been peaceful, and the dog never violated any rules. If one is scared of big dogs, they should not live in an apartment complex that allows anything besides goldfish.
It would be understandable if my dog had growled at another resident, bitten someone, or even peed in the wrong bush. None of this was the case. The dog is a gentle giant.
I had a meeting with Muriel to discuss these concerns from the other resident. I agreed to walk my dog in a muzzle (crazy, right?) if that would solve the issue. She stated that it would be sufficient, and we left it at that. I should’ve got this in writing.
Muriel then knocks on my door later in the same day and hands me an eviction notice. She almost seemed happy to do it… It stated that I had less than one week to move out. She changed her mind. Hopefully this horrible woman will never darken your doorstep if you live at Hampton Cove. Luckily, I know a lawyer who got Hampton Cove to agree to allow me to stay if the dog was removed. Also luckily, the dog had a place to stay with a friend for the few remaining months of the lease.
Long story short, I got my sweet dog back and got the heck out of Hampton Cove. This apartment is NOT pet friendly, even though they say they are. Do anything you can to avoid Muriel.

I lived at Hampton cove for 4 years and only moved out because I got married and moved to a house for my growing family. I loved it and although I love my house I miss the comfort and simplicity of my little 2×2 apartment sometimes. It’s the only apartment community I’ve ever lived at that provided breakfast every Saturday morning. In the summers, my daughter and I spent a lot of time at the pools which were always super clean and no ‘stragglers’ or partying were ever an issue.
I’ve never had an issue with maintenance, management or office staff. Everyone was always very nice and helpful. When I lived there they provided a courtesy officer on site who was a San Antonio police officer, I never needed to call him but being a single mom at the time it was nice knowing he was there.
And honestly, the location is the best. It’s on it’s own street, hidden, and surrounded by trees. Not to mention the shaded dog parks!
I just generally had a great experience there!

I love living here! It’s peaceful, neighbors are friendly, it’s clean, and they are quick to respond. Staff in office are friendly! Rent is a good deal for location. They serve brunch on Saturdays, which is great! I would recommend this place to everyone!

just no. no. first they gave us the apartment that is directly in front of the gates and walkway. so we can’t open our windows without having cars and people passing by see us. secondly, they gave us an apartment with so many problems and then the maintenance man lied saying that we broke the toilet, and had feces everywhere when in actuality the toilet overflowed and then began to leak out from the bottom into the master bedroom’s closet. just water, no pee or feces. and the master bathroom is a joke. the door to open it and the door to the closet are in the most awkward place causing them to bang into each other when both are slightly open. and now the garage. the garage key didn’t even work. and they took their sweet time in giving us a new one. when we first came to look at apartments they tried to show us one garage, but the key wasn’t working so we just kept going on our tour. they are so sneaky. they intentionally gave us the apartment that had problems because they knew me and my family had to move in kinda quickly (new job in SA) and the WORST absolutely worst thing about this apartment complex is my neighbors above. they are the loudest, most annoying neighbors I’ve ever encountered. they play their music soo loud every single day. every single day. it’s so loud that not only can I hear the words, I can hear and feel the vibrations coming from upstairs. it’s so frustrating. the first couple of times we directly asked the neighbors to turn down their music, which they agreed to, and each time the next day it was just as loud. the last time we asked them to turn it down, the man answered the door and told me «no my music is not loud» and shut the door in my face. after that we began calling the main office to see if they could help us, and each time they said they would call our neighbors and get them to turn it down. and 2 – 3 days would go by until they were back at it. the main office people did absolutely nothing, they gave them no ultimatum or warnings that made them keep their music down and respect us (their neighbors below them) this apartment complex is a joke. an absolute joke. & we’re stuck here until our lease is up. which they never mentioned there was a 3-​months lease and only mentioned the 1 – 2 year lease. they’re sneaky and very distrustful. take my advice, no matter how good the deal or price may seem, living like this is not worth it. I’d never wish any of this frustration on anyone.
*** and I also forgot to mention: PARKING IS HORRIBLE. the absolute worst place. we have a garage and it’s in the most awkward position that it takes a few tries and minutes to park. and the parking that’s «open to everyone» is horribly positioned as well.

I moved into a 1 bed here around May of 2013. The make ready was great and the staff was helpful when signing my lease. The grounds have been clean and we’ll maintained. I have only submitted two service request and they were fixed the same day and done well. I moved here because of the location I wanted something close to usaa and the highways that was affordable. Takes about 3−−5 minutes to get to 410 and about 3 minutes to get to 1604. No noise at night or anything else I could see wrong when I get home I would recommend this place to friends and family if they needed an affordable place to live!

Let me first caveat this by saying I don’t live here, never have and frankly never will. I just couldnt think of anywhere else to let the world know how much I hate this complex!
I went to this complex yesterday evening. First thing to note is that the roads are very narrow and many times I had to pull to the side of what was supposed to be a two lane road so that someone else could pull past me. Second thing is that this place is literally designed to be a labyrinth of roads and buildings. Only half the buildings I saw actually had signs on them indicating the building number. I asked a resident how to get to a specific building and was told that they too get lost and that sadly they couldnt help me.
When I ended up on the far side of the property incorrectly I asked a second resident. She told me directions that turned out to lead me to a dead end (literally). As it turned out not even she, who (self professed) lived there for over a year could tell me how to find the building I was looking for.
I had to get out and look at apartment numbers in order to determine which building I was looking at three different times.
Whoever laid out this property did a crappy job. They arent helping themselves either because so many of the buildings arent labeled or if they are, the sign is hidden by overgrown trees. They really need to invest in signage!
Once I finally found the building I was looking for the apartment I was looking for was mysteriously missing. Unit numbers 508 and 510 were on the second floor and 505 and 507 were on the first. Where was 509? On the other side of the building on the 2^nd floor right net to 502 of course! I mean who wouldn’t think to look next to 502 for 509 instead of next to 508, 510 and 507. I mean I guess its my fault cause my brain works logically.
This place is a delivery drivers nightmare I’m sure. Worst experience ever!

I stayed in a furnished 2 BR for a few months during a relocation. They provided a nice array of kitchen stuff, including wine glasses. The apartment is gorgeous and tastefully furnished but the carpet is quite worn. They don’t provide a vacuum. They will vacuum once per week if you call them. But u have to. remember to call which I find very annoying. They refuse to come on an automatic schedule. Parking is terrible. Forget about inviting several folks over unless they car pool. I have difficulty getting a spot, I can’t imagine what its like for guests.
I personally don’t believe security gates actually offer much security. But if you care about stuff like that, the rear gate is frequently broken, and they just leave it open until it’s fixed.
I think staff needs some better training on customer service. For example, We had three power outages in one week — NOT the fault of the apartment complex, several blocks in the area lost electricity! But when I called the apartment office to find out what happened they said they had no idea what caused it and I should call the electric company myself, and no they didn’t know the phone number. They were very friendly and polite, but I think they should of made the call themselves and posted the information they received by the mailboxes, if not a flyer on every door.
The gym and pool are always very clean. So is the overall property. It’s also very quiet. Two police officers live on the property and their phone numbers are shared if you ever have a noise complaint — which I never had. Overall, it’s an okay place to live. If I had a unit with a garage and didn’t have the nightmare parking situation, I would probably give it a better rating.

I don’t give one stars; however, my experience at the Village at Hampton Cove was the perfect storm of lack of customer service in addition deplorable living conditions that lead to a one star rating and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
In my situation, The Hampton Cove charged me $ 255, in addition to a $ 200 pet fee, to clean so-​called «damages» from my dog’s fur on the carpet and a couch without giving me a chance to correct the deficiencies nor the courtesy to let me know that I was being charged.
I’ve never seen damages from a pet’s fur on carpet or furniture and I’m dissapointed in the lack of customer service and lack of business ethics of the Hampton Cove.
So I called the apartment to find out about the charges on my credit card. I was in a meeting so I couldn’t take the call. She leaves me a curt short message on my phone. I return her call to discuss the situation.

Frank: Hi my name is Frank and I wanted to discuss the $ 255 charge.
Manager: Did you listen to my message?
Frank: Yes but I wanted to talk to you about it.
Manager (wants to get me off the phone): Well the message has everything you need to know so.
Frank: Well I’m on the phone now so can we talk about it .
Manager: Well you dog damaged the carpet and furniture so that we needed get them professionally cleaned.
Frank: I do not understand what you mean by damaged.
Manager (backpedals): Well they weren’t damaged. Your dog’s fur was all over everywhere so my manager said it was inhospitable.
Frank: So did you guys think to call me about the issue or call me about the charges?
Manager: We don’t have time for that and according our policy that YOU signed a release for charges.
Frank: Ok.

My point is really hey I’m responsible. Give me a benefit of the doubt as a customer. Common courtesy. I’m not asking for much and if I need to pay I’ll pay.
More Background if you’re interested:
I’m relocating to the area for a job with a local large financial institution that services the military. The one good point I can say was that the staff had availability for an apartment and left the key for me overnight because we came after hours. We decided on a furnished one bedroom one bath with a garage for corporate housing to find a place to live for month. We moved in without a hitch. However the next day I slowly realized but tolerated the state of the apartment.
1) Stagnant water in the dish washer — I found the dishwasher broken and had standing water sitting in for who knows how long. The water had turned grayish black due to the rust. This is definitely a health code violation. Two weeks after they eventually fixed the problem however I had to remind them more than once.
2) Black mold in the bathroom. There was black mold in the bathtub grouting.
3) Water damage in the bathroom. Near the toilet the bathroom had sunken downward.
4) Cafeteria quality silverware and utensils and cheap aluminum pots. Great for cooking ramen but that’s about it.
5) No vacuum. I’m supposed to schedule a vacuum (only once a week) with the front desk to get my apt cleaned.
6) Significant amount of bird poop in from of my doorway from nests.
Again this is just a lack of attention to detail and cleanliness that consistent through this organization.
So I understand that according to their policies that I left the apartment in state that is not standard. Therefore, they will correct identified deficiencies with the apartment to the way they see fit and I will pay the bill. I got it. However I had no outgoing inspection nor no notification that I was being charged.
The apartment manager’s excuse was that didn’t have time to let me know and that would take too long. In addition, the damage was so severe from my dog’s fur that they need to have the carpets and couch professional cleaned for $ 255 in addition to the $ 200 pet fee. So the way I see it, someone who works in cleaning complained that they had to their job to clean an apartment and told the apartment manager. They hire someone to clean it up and charge a fee for processing and inconvenience.
I haven’t found a vacuum that wasn’t able to clean a carpet or couch of pet fur. One hour maybe to two to clean a carpet or couch.
Bottomline: don’t go here. Unethical organizations with bad customer service aren’t worth the headache and a complete waste of time. Life is too short to deal with stuff like this and hopefully you’ll know about this through my review. There are hotel that do weekly rates in the area.
