After seeing so many mouthwatering pictures of their food on Facebook, I finally decided to try this place. They’re usually located at The Point Park and Eats food park, so on a nice evening, the location cannot be any better. My girlfriend and I went for an order of carnitas street tacos(4 per order). The carnitas were probably the most tender and flavorful I’ve had, and the cotija cheese and onions were a very welcome addition. Add a squeeze of lime and the delicious red(SPICY) salsa, and you have some of the best tacos in town. The tacos came with a cup of beans, which were tasty, especially with the fatty bits bacon in them. Finally, we ordered a limonada agua fresca, which was pretty good, but could have used just a little less sugar. The only downside was the wait. We waited about twenty minutes for the food, and there were only two people ahead of us. Sadly, the wait was long enough to keep my rating at 4 stars, considering the carnitas do not have to be made to order. Overall, i was very satisfied, so definitely try this place, because I surely will again, and hopefully the wait was just something out of the ordinary!

I sampled Texasada’s yummy fare at the Point. While I am by no means an expert on Oaxacan food(knowing so little that I probably botched the spelling of the word!), I thoroughly enjoyed Texasada’s cooking. We tried the street tacos with carnitas and two other«traditional» Oaxacan dishes whose names I will not EVEN attempt to rewrite(because I can’t even pronounce them!). Bottom line… it was all very fresh, flavorful, not at ALL«greasy» and apparently made with skill and care. The young chef was also very eager to share and explain to us Oaxacan-food knowledge-challenged newbies what each dish was, which tortillas/meats would work best, etc… I look forward to trying more of their hot, tasty food(especially when and if they offer seafood fare!)

«Five bucks for one taco?» WTF? There is only one thing you need to know about Texasada: the fish taco. Start with the tortilla. Masa goodness. The best corn tortilla in San Antonio. This isn’t your standard thin tortilla(and i love a thin house made corn tortilla); it is a very robust tortilla. It stands up to the fish taco eating experience from start to finish. And it is one tasty orb. Drop in a couple pieces of perfectly fried tilapia, some perfectly dressed slaw and a flash of spicy mayo sauce and you have a fish taco worthy of the five dollar price tag. Close your eyes and imagine that every fish taco you’ve ever eaten in SoCal was this tasty. Find this truck. Experience fish taco perfection. really f n good.

They are at the Revolution Room’s StrEAT Food on Broadway Wednesday nights. I tried the fish taco and without a doubt one of the best i have ever been fortunate enough to have. I want to try more more more. The pico and sauce on the taco are beyond description. They have a Facebook page to help in locating them other days of the week.
