My daughter and I love Taco Cabana! We are regulars at the Bandera location. Their new manager cares a lot more about cleanliness and good service, and the food and dining experience, much more than the old manager ever did. Their prices are fine because they serve great Mexican food. I do wish they would go back to their old atmosphere with the Beautiful big palm trees they had.

Each time I visit this TC location, the service gets worse. They need to add at least two people to their night staff. This last trip that my fiancé and I took, we were waiting for our fajita combo plate for 20 min. when we realized that there were four groups of patrons also waiting on their order. We threw in the white towel at that point and were not planning on going back.

We are regulars here, just down the road from church. Choir singing both services on Reformation Sunday so we have time for bfast between the 8:00 and the 10:45. I got the brisket and egg bfast plate for the first time. Loved it! The food here is consistently good and service is friendly. Took advantage of the 36-hour weekend special offer, 50% off the order, which was a great deal! One knock against them today – coffee carafe was near empty both times I wanted to fill my cup. And the salsa bar was not completely set up yet, but we were early. Had to wait for them to prep the salsa ranch, my fave.

This is some good Mexican food. Steak quesadilla was bomb. Tortillas are some of the best I’ve ever had.

The most disgusted i have ever been eating at a place. Wasnt clean i dont know what some of these other people are talking about. Took food home it stunk up the house because it had such a horrible stench. Couldnt eat it. They also have the most disgusting unsanitary staff ever. #real

Got stuck in the drive thru for 25mins! Then my order was wrong, manager blamed it on 2 new employees. So went back a 2nd time, again they took forever. Horrible service.

Terrible customer service. No one working the front and the manager had the nerve to yell at the customers.

It’s hard to go wrong with a Taco C. This restaurant was really clean and the salsa bar was stocked well and didn’t look gross!

Never in my life has food depressed me, until today that is. Just because it’s fast food doesn’t mean quality has to be bad. The spirit of fast tex-mex is embodied by taco cabana, tonight garbage is what we were given. Cold beans and unmelted cheese were passed off as a bean and cheese taco, undercooked hard rice, a lukewarm salsa bar scraping up what was left and a soda machine reading out of order. This place has become a joke over the years and tonight really reminds me why we go to the«good taco cabana» far out of my way.

This taco cabana can’t get a bean and cheese taco right. The whole soda fountain was out of service, yet the cashier(knowing this) offered for us to purchase drinks without divulging this info. Inside my bean and cheese tacos, the beans were cold, the cheese wouldn’t even melt. Don’t go here. If you have a Taco Cabana craving, I recommend the TC’s on 1604 bear Bandera Pointe.

I remember when this Taco Cabana was just one of the original TCs in San Antonio… back in the day when its exterior sported unique palm tree murals and there was a «hidden» outdoor dining patio in front surrounded by lush vegetation and a garden fountain. Welp, TC remodeled itself. It modernized itself. So all of that original beauty and character is completely absent. Moving past the now bland and minimally landscaped façade, TC’s food has also gone down in quality. Far down. Those days of HUGE tortillas, SUPER flavorful fajitas, and GLUTTONOUS portion sizes are long gone. For instance, their average tortilla is but the size of a cup plate. Yep, sad indeed. Truth be told, walk next door to Henry’s Puffy Tacos for substantial and authentic Mexican cuisine. Or if driving’s not an issue, give Chacho’s Tex-Mex a try further up Bandera Rd.

Taco Cabanas are generally a dime a dozen in San Antonio. I usually forget to check in when I’m there and by the time I remember, I’m long gone. This one really stood out though. I needed to do a drive-through before work and one of our gals is gluten-free. So she can have corn tortillas, but no flour. I asked for a breakfast dozen TC’s Way, but half(unspecified which half) on corn. They took care of my request with no problem and speedily had me on my way. There was no eye-rolling or anything either when I got to the window to pay. Big props, great tacos, and happy staff. Thanks guys!!!

This location sucks! The drive thru was packed, so we go inside and I am waiting for someone to take my order or at least say, we’ll be right with you. We just left and went down the street to the other location.

Always get great service at this location. The manager, Antonio, is top-notch and the hardest working guy I’ve ever seen in the food industry. I’ve never had a bad meal here and he makes sure we’re taken care of. This is the only location we come to…

I love Taco Cabana’s food, but this location is the worst! The dining room is filthy — they rarely seem to wipe down tables or re-fill the lids/straws area. The service is so painfully slow — I’ve actually been told to go through the drive through because it would be faster than inside. And the salsa bar could use some serious help. This location needs new management — badly!

I’m not one to do this however this is terrible. I got here at 2:30am when there was only 2 cars in front of me. It’s now 3 am and I am still waiting on my food. I will never come back to this location no matter how hungry I am. Not to mention the lady was really rude!

Stopped here for fajitas on the way to hill country. Flavorful, but a bit salty. We ordered two fajita meals(one chicken, one beef) and they came with nachos and a drink. The meat was moist and not overcooked, the nachos were tasty with the queso. Pleased with the meals… just surprised that it came to $ 20 for only two of us… especially for fast food. But good food for the road.

Food quality is always great, but often, I’ve waited more than 10 minutes for simple orders. I can’t explain how it would take 10 minutes to make 1 shrimp Tampico taco. Otherwise, the place is always clean, televisions are nice to have there, and the outdoor patio catches the sun just right.

It’s TC. Food is on the better level of the local chains. Margaritas are what you’d expect from a non-bar, but they’re still good. Staff was friendly as well and the salsa bar was kept up.

Although ‘good Mexican fast food’ is very contradictory, Taco Cabana pulls it off. TC’s offers nothing super authentic… but for the price, taste and convenience, you’ll be super satisfied with this«fake» Mexican food. Always a favorite late-night place to sit and devour good cheap food while sobering up ;)
