Pericos has great food at a great price. I woke up this morning thinking about how surprised i still was on the price of our meal from last night. I dont like the chips because they’re hard & tasteless but the salsa is good. We had the Poco de Mexico which has been a longtime favorite of mine. The empanadas are the best in SA. For entrée we shared the Tacos Ricos which are as close to street tacos as you can get. For dessert we had the 4 pc. Sopapillas. The waitress brought us cold honey(it was hard & not pourable) & by the time they warmed it up our sopapillas were cold. They were still good. I would like it if the sopapillas came in smaller pieces. And we also had 4 beers. Surprisingly this came out to 39.98! Very pleased.

We had a party of 13 on a Sunday evening. It was not busy at all but the hostess and other girls standing with her looked at us like we were asking for a table for 113. Got seated with one server who couldn’t handle a table of 2 let alone 13. Service was horrible. And so was the food. The soup was cold server took it back guess they didn’t care and never brought the soup out again. We told him to forget it. They also forgot one more plate we said forget that one too! And one plate of enchiladas had NOSAUCE seriously it was a mess. Never again!

We went to Pericos on a recommendation. We were told the piña colada was awesome. The piña colada was very good, however the food was not. I ordered carne asada. The steak was burned and lacked flavor. I did not send it back because I kept eating it thinking the whole thing wasn’t burned. I was wrong. We also ordered table side guacamole. This also lacked flavor. And the jalapeño chunks were large. One bite with a jalapeño chunk was more heat than what I wanted. We added more salt and lime and that helped but still not what you would expect from table side guacamole. The server was ok. He was polite but forgot our tortillas and was not attentive. Overall– go there for the drinks but grab dinner elsewhere.

So my mother wanted chicken fried steak and being that she’s under going chemo and only has taste for foods at certain times we try to give her anything she request for food. Well we thought we would have a great experience here but completely the opposite. We waited to be seated 15−20min, and our food took 30min to come out. We didn’t even realize how long it had been till we saw people around us getting food. People who had just got seated with hot meals! Finally when we got our food it was wrong. The waiter said«I’m sure you said chicken fried chicken cause we don’t carry chicken fried steak.» We asked what about the Gravy and he said they ran out sorry for the inconvenience. My thoughts were next time if you think or not sure verify the order. And if you’re out of something tell your customers! That way they can change their mind if they want. If I could I would give it zero stars !!

I have been to both Stone Oak and Huebner Oaks locations and let me just say that I have not been impressed with the service that I got at Pericos. I came here yesterday evening for a birthday dinner. It was for a party of 10 people. We waited for about ten minutes at the bar which wasn’t too bad. Once we got to our table we were seated then the server took forever with our drinks and for ordering. My friends had ordered the fajitas for two plate and I had a chance to try them and see what the hype was all about. Once I cut my knife into the meat, I noticed that in the center was pink and that’s all it took me to not continue eating. The fajita smelled like armpit and it stayed on my clothes for the rest of the night. The rice and beans looked pretty good but the tortillas looked so undercooked and gross I didn’t want to eat those at all. Now about the service, everyone that has been posting about how the service was bad is definitely true. One of the waiters kept walking back and forth just checking on us not even asking what we needed. Overall I’m not impressed with the restaurant. I’m assuming people come here for the ambiance which is nice but I wouldn’t step one foot in here again.

Ill start by saying the service is bad, real bad. Other than giving us a 30 minute wait but actually taking 45 minutes, the server took 10 min to get our drinks then when the food was brought out it was wrong. I will admit that the food was good, so if you are patient and don’t care much for any refills then try is out.

I really have some mixed feelings about this place. On one hand we really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the live music and seemed far away from the touristy Riverwalk which is exactly what we were looking for. Our server recommended beef fajitas and commented they recently upgraded the steak used for them. The tortillas were very delicious and you could tell they were homemade. The fajita meat although flavorful had a significant mount of gristle. When I got the bill, I also noticed they charge extra for sour cream and cheese… Really!!! My wife seem to really enjoy her beef gordita’s and a couple of unusual sides that the server recommended which were much better than the typical beans and rice. She also enjoyed her to margaritas. Overall, I may come back here again the next time in San Antonio but maybe not as there are so many other restaurants to check out.

Had a party of 14 for Mothers Day. Restaurant looked unprepared, food came out cold and the food was terrible. Sorry to say this, cause I like this restaurant and I recommended it. Hope this was a one time thing. Server was doing best he could.

Just ordered a huge order for a graduation party the day before I needed it. Martha, the general manager, was the nicest, most accommodating employee I’ve ever come across. She and two other employees were so kind and helpful. They even loaded the car for us! Great customer service and experience at Pericos!

Usually pretty good food. Service is touch and go. Once again I have to usually have the order remake because they forget my onions when the order is to go. For the most part this restaurant has been here a while. I give 4 stars because of the inconsistent service.

We eat at the Bandera location at least once a week. Last week we went and the food tasted different, almost as if some of the recipes had changed. Queso now tastes different and has a horrible new texture. Green salsa– different completely Chicken tacos– different recipe We thought it was a fluke and someone had an off night in the kitchen. We went back yesterday evening, SAME thing. So obviously they’ve decided to cook/prepare some of their items differently. But not for the better. Sad to say, but we may have to find a new fav place.

Absolute horrible experience. Went in and ordered 2 appetizers and after 20 minutes of not receiving them on a slow note there, we asked the mgr to check, however he never returned. Needless to say, they only brought our one cold appetizer and we had to cancel the second one. Horrible customer service on the mgr’s part.

Pericos is a good establishment. My previous review about getting home without ham in the omelet was founded, but I was informed in error. The server gave me false information. I returned and was given correct information and the food was good. I recommend this place as the food is good and I will continue to visit. Thank you to the management team for reaching out to me(Oscar) and I appreciate the concern. Robert was great and made sure I received what I ordered. It is always great to hear that establishments listen to their customers. Thank you Pericos!

Six of us showed up on a Sunday(today) at 2:00. It took about 40 minutes to be seated, as it was busy. I ordered a sweet tea. They do not brew the tea at the restaurant, and all I tasted was artificial lemon. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. The salsa was warm and the tomatoes tasted roasted. It was not spicy though. For our appetizer we ordered the queso with picadillo. It was very good. There was plenty of meat and the cheese was a perfect consistency. It was topped with a dollop of guacamole and pico. I ordered the shrimp nachos. They were bland and greasy. The nachos consisted of a single layer of chips each topped with white cheese and shrimp. There was a small amount of guacamole and sliced jalapeños that was served on the side. I would not order this again. The other people in my party were from Del Rio and they all commented on how good the rice and barracho beans were.

I will never come here again. First off it took 10 minutes before someone came to the front desk to seat us and another party that was there before us. The bus boy saw us and he then came over to seat us, as he went to grab the menu I guess that was the hostess who finally came over there and got mad at the bus boy because he was seating us and then bus boy told him he should have doing his Job. Then when we got seated we sat there for 20 minutes, and no one came. We then called some girl who was sweeping the floor and ask her who’s our waiter, she went over to the one older looking waiter and he threw his arm up at her like he didn’t care and he never did come over. So we decided to leave and as we were going out the girl who was sweeping the floor ask us did ever come over and we told her no then she just shook her head. We were so upset. We drove way across town to get treated like this. SMH

Just happened to be close to my old stomping grounds and decided to go in. This place is always busy and I didn’t realize we were on the tail end of happy hour. They have a great happy hour menu and wonderful drinks. We ordered botanas and empanadas. They both came with a ton of cheese for dipping and smothering your food with. In addition, we had mariachis singing traditional songs and throwing in some Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. It was a great time. The atmosphere was festive and the food and wait staff were on point.

I’m updating my review because the service is definitely not the same if you come with groups larger than 4 people. I’ve dined here four times with a bigger party and EVERYTIME the servers always seem overwhelmed by having to serve our larger group in addition to all of their other tables. Due to this we’ve had to ask multiple times for tortillas, drink re-fills or even the bill. The servers also seemed upset or annoyed at having to handle multiple requests or take down several orders. At most other restaurants I’ve been to larger groups get two servers which helps alleviate the burden on individual servers; I think that doing this could definitely help out with their customer service. This restaurant is generally awesome so I’m hoping that they can improve this.

I had a horrible experience here last week when my family was visiting from out of town. Our waiter(who I will not name, since I have been in contact with the manager) was one of the worst we’ve ever had. We were there for 4 hours total after ordering drinks, appetizers, and main meals. Needless to say, it’ll be a while before I ever come back here. However, the manager who I have been in contact with has been very nice and definitely wants to have my service back again.

Me and my wife went on a date here and our server was great. I wish I could say the same for my shrimp cocktail. This was the worse shrimp cocktail I have ever had. It just had a couple shrimp and not much of anything else in it. Also in came in a small glass. They advertised a live band and they were ok. I swear I saw the accordion player not playing but I could here the instrument in the song that was playing. In other words the guy was not actually playing what was being played through the speakers. The band played a couple songs and took like an hour break. The drinks now are something else. Great original drinks on the menu. I would go back just for the drinks.
