We were presented with a printout with my son’s name and location of travel. Information printed from CDC&WHO. The nurse read through the information like she was speed reading and was annoyed when we had questions. My son takes an immuno-suppressant and when we asked about concerns, she mockingly told him that he was NOT immuno-compromised and suggested that he was overreacting. «If you were immuno-compromised, you would have to wear a mask.» Then she offered him the pill form of the vaccine; and only upon his questioning whether he could take the pill, did she call and find out the answer was no. When I tried to purchase 2 packages of DiaResQ, she was again condescending and insisted that we would never need it twice in six weeks. She proceeded to go on and on about the antibiotic and that he could only take«if you are sitting on the toilet and praying to Jesus to take me now.» For starters, we are Jewish. Moreover, for a child that could be potentially ill, telling him not to take necessary medication is just downright dangerous.

Do not use passport health unless you are rich AND don’t have a primary care physician. They will just tell you what CDC website says and will not write you prescription for any of the recommended vaccines/medications unless they cannot provide the service themselves. I went there expecting healthcare professionals who had my best interest at heart. They would not write a Rx for the necessary vaccine to take to a nearby pharmacy simply because they can provide the vaccine at their location… However, the vaccine cost 200% what it would cost at the pharmacy. Also, we were told NO when asked if we could be provided a Rx for nausea medication to take with us on our trip. In short, $ 130 later, we were given nothing a $ 35 copay would not have provided at a primary care physician’s office. The nurse helping us was apologetic for a disservice she seemed to know she was participating in.

i came here to get a hep a vaccine and malaria prophylaxis before traveling to the dominican republic. the appointment went fairly quickly, and they provide a handy dandy booklet with some info about your travel destinations and things to watch out for as far as your health goes. as mentioned in other reviews, no insurance is accepted. i believe my total for the vaccine and prescription was almost $ 200 and the hep a vaccine required a follow up vaccine(~$ 95). they are quick, efficient, and experienced here, but if you have another more economical option, go for it.

Very helpful and informative. The give you a personalized booklet to your travel itinerary. We were done pretty quickly. Does not take insurance though, so it is quite expensive. The option is to pay and then try to make a claim yourself with your insurance.
