This place is great if you have picky eaters at home. It’s basically the same concept of getting a frozen pizza at the grocery store except its fresh and you get to choose specifics on what and how you want it. There are plenty of veggies, cheeses and meats to choose from. You can get pan, thin, or a stuffed pizza(deep dish style). It comes with its own cooking pan and is great when you don’t want to spend too much time on dinner. Prices are relatively cheap and the place itself is squeaky clean.

I picked up a couple of pies one Friday night when I was babysitting. The staff was very friendly and helped me decide on my order. The store looked clean and organized. I ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza and a pepperoni and sausage pizza on a regular crust. I honestly only enjoyed the thin crust pepperoni. I’m not sure why. There was just this… unexplainable… something about the regular crust that I didn’t like. I never did figure out what it was. The pizzas are given on a disposable baking tray. I appreciated this being as it meant I didn’t need to clean up any pans after baking the food. I spent a total of $ 14 on both pizzas. I’m not sure if I will ever go back to this location or any other Papa Murphy’s. I didn’t hate the food but i definitely didn’t love it. I couldn’t rationalize why I hadn’t just stopped at HEB for frozen pizza.

Everything is fresh. They make their own crust, grate their own cheese, cut their own veggies, and etc. As for taste: It beats the heck out of ALL the big chain stores such as Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Domino’s. It comes with a disposable baking dish & instructions, and it is much, much better than anything you can buy frozen. Since it is not pre-cooked before you buy it, there is no sales tax. Prices are quite good, especially for what you get. When I was a child many years ago, we used to have Shakey’s Pizza in San Antonio, and I have always fondly remembered, and missed, their Canadian Bacon pizza. But what can truly live up to a childhood memory? As I’ve recently discovered, Papa Murphy’s can, does, and they have real Canadian bacon, not mis-labeled ham. They have been running a special of a family sized two-topping delight *thin crust* for $ 8 for awhile, and I find myself visiting their store about once every 12 days. The plastic wrapped around the pizza when you pick it up works well to seal and freeze the leftovers, and it has always been excellent when re-heated. I am really trying to get the word out about this chain because their product truly is so much better than any of the big pizza chains, and I would be greatly saddened if Papa Murphy’s were to fail due to the economy and their very limited advertising.
