Nine Tails

Excellent customer service! The employees are wonderful, friendly and full of energy! I love the cute things they sell here, and love how they send out information on their fan pages of upcoming events! These guys are awesome! I wish they had a bigger store! I just cannot get enough of al the adorable Hello Kitty things they have, and all of the other items I adore! They were more than happy to answer my questions, and even advised me where I might find a certain item they did not carry on their store. They are just amazing! You must sneak a peek next time you are in wonderland mall! These guys rock!

One of my daughter’s favorite shops! We go in from time to time to pick up a Unicorno for her collection or some other cute curiosity. We will continue going back for a fun and sweet experience for my daughter and I. The staff has always been friendly and seemingly involved in the community. I feel they are an anchor for the culture represented in our little town.

For all the animé geeks it’s pretty good. It’s extremely small and it caters to more of the more popular animes and the hello kitty wasteland. I get figurines from time to time when I venture in there.

This store just keeps getting better and better! Their inventory is always well-​stocked with a big variety of animé, Sanrio, and other Japanese merchandise. They also have a great atmosphere! There’s always good music playing, and they really know how to put together good displays. I bought my purse and wallet there, and I’m frequently complimented on them everywhere I go, especially on my purse. My husband is addicted to their figures, and has quite a collection going!
The couple that owns the store are the SWEETEST people who are not only really knowledgeable about their products but also extremely helpful and nice! They keep their Facebook page up to date when new merch comes in, and they support local artists by featuring their work in the shop. Finally, they have lots of great events and are regular vendors at lots of the big local animé cons.
Bottom line: Nine Tails will always be one of my favorite places to shop because of the unique, high-​quality merchandise, totally kawaii atmosphere, and excellent customer service!

I love stopping by here for my Kawaii fix. Unique and cute finds! The staff is super friendly and I imagine that if you can’t find something your’re looking for, they can help you locate it. Plus, they have the Spot frequent shopper program. It offers discounts and much more!

This place is known for its animé and hello kitty merchandise. I love that they have sales every so often, and they promote it well on their facebook page. I don’t live in San Antonio, but they have been nice enough to let me purchase items through paypal in the past and hold it for me for a while so I can pick it up.
The only reason I give it ⁴⁄₅ stars is because I have seen some fan made sexualized hello kitty items in the store; it gave me a bad otaku feeling, and almost made me walk out. This was some time ago, but I really hope they didn’t/don’t go in that direction.

There are great finds in the Wonderland of the Americas and Nine Tails is one of my favorite shops next to Creeping Beauty. If you love Hello Kitty and Hello Kitty accessories, you will lose your sh*t at Nine Tails. High quality HK purses and limited edition merch from Japan can be found here. If you’re into the surprise box craze (if you’re not, what are you doing with your life?) they have a couple animé themed boxes and they go by the rules that if you open a box there and don’t like what you got, you can trade for one of their opened ones.
Nine Tails also carries animé themed artwork and a few action figures (mainly FF related) and the guy working the counter was super helpful and friendly. If you’re a fan of kawaii, definitely check out Nine Taills.

Bday present & random bf present in one stop! Efficient and cute.

A nice little gem in the ancient ruins of Wonderland mall. I shouldn’t say that about that mall really since they’re in the process of a revitalization (even if it’s a slow one) and I think it’s awesome how they’ve allowed a bunch of space for a number of local businesses. Nine Tails isn’t the only sweet find in the oldest mall of SA either; there are a few great kiosks — if you can even call them that, they’re more like mini stores — that my bf has been coming to to scope out old school toys/​collectibles since last year. He finally let me know about NT right after Christmas when he showed me that he got some of my gifts there.
This store is lovely for people who want a kawaii fix but don’t necessarily want to drive all the way to downtown for it or pay shipping and handling from the big-​name website. I’ve found that Nine Tails will actually carry some unique stuff not found in those other places, and for a cheaper price as well! They’ve also got new items coming in on the regular so that the inventory stays interesting. For a small space, they’ve got a really awesome selection of stuff and it’s fun anticipating every now and then what kind of new things they’ll have. Don’t let their website fool you; it doesn’t show close to everything they have at the store either.
The couple that run this place are sweet as can be and when I’ve called ahead to ask about a certain item, they’ve been accommodating and will offer to hold it for you, making it even easier for you to spend your moolah. Lucky me, I get to spend more money on things I don’t need but just have to have because they’re so darn cute. Let’s just say I’m glad they don’t operate regular hours. Although, my bf did say the last time he was there they were telling him how they’ve been approved to open up an actual store in the mall which I hope transpires because it’ll mean a bigger space and more stuff and routine hours of operation! Awesome for me, but dangerous for my wallet. Must practice self-​control.
If and when it does happen though, I’ll be looking forward to it. It is a local business run by some really nice people so I naturally just want to wish them more success. Thank you for feeding a hobby of mine!
