Nektar Lounge

This place is a joke. It’s far from an upscale lounge even though their prices reflect upscale. Friends and I met here since it was close by where we live. The bartender couldn’t make a cosmopolitan to save his life. WASTE of a nice evening.

Be careful if you order shots.

Ghetto is all I can say about this place, not because of the location or building but because of the people and how they carry themselves. I’ve seen fights and much much worse here, I would not go here because I do not want to end up in the hospital or jail. I don’t know if the problem is the establishment allowing the wrong crowd in or just people who like to start trouble going here but either way it’s best avoided. It’s a shame though, I never would have guessed had I not seen it myself.

This place should not be advertising that it is an «upscale lounge» We celebrated a 21^st birthday and it was a flop. I was a guest and I felt terribly bad for the birthday girl. They were asked to arrive by 10:30 and we did show up at this time so we were the only party guest there and/​or guest for about 2 hours. As we were leaving the bouncer (or mgr) outside suggested on giving us a FREE bottle if we stayed … but we didn’t since the atmosphere was not what we expected. Not a great way to remember your 21^st. All in all everyone was safe and we left in once peace.
What could have been done to make it right was reimbursed the birthday girl at least half because this place was very misleading from their website.

I’m visiting from outta town and I know someone who was DJ’n here. Not only are the security people very rude and unfriendly. They don’t have very good customer service. Drinks are about 10 $ and come in very small cups. The music is literally the only upside. The drinks. Not good. Staff. Not friendly. Cover 10 $ which was ridiculous. If there was a zero stars this place would literally have NONE. If you’re going to be in the club business showing your guests some customer service would be effective. Would not recommend coming here for anything. Honestly. Not anything. This place is THE worst. Lol n

GOOD LUCK finding this place! Their sign was not noticeable. I went with my boyfriend at 11:00 and the club was totally empty, we were the only ones. Bar tender was not able to make the drinks i requested. The floors were disgusting and sticky. The tables were dirty along with the walls. DJ was not entertaining at all. Felt like «Chachos and chalucci’s the club». When people finally did show up the dress code was way to lax: baggy shorts with boxers showing and backwards hats. If you’re looking for a hot spot club, this is NOT it. If you’re looking for a nice dive bar to drink, this is NOT it. If you’re looking for a club to dance with you’re friends, this is NOT it.

Exactly what the other reviews said. Sticky floors, broken curtains, no seating and we paid for a section of four and got a section of two. Owners and management was present but just looking around. The crowd is barely 21, and we saw a few 18 year olds kicked out. Will not return, cannot recommend this to anyone.

Ok, sort the reviews by date, and see that the recent reviews are all 1 – 2 star ratings. Get the picture? Dance floor has some depressed area that you can fall into, creeps for a crowd, random fights, whack go-​go dancers, cheap décor. Seriously, go somewhere else and avoid this hole.

One word… Ehhheeewww! Good location, dirty club/​bar. Don’t plan on wearing your nice heels here… it’s liking walking in bubble gum, but we both know it’s not gum :/​Place full of smoke machines probably to mask how trashy the place looks… It needs a face lift baaadddd… ok if you not going to renovate the place, at least call in a cleaning company once a week! I could possibly… possibly overlook the filth (just don’t touch anything) if the sound system was worth it… nope…a Ford Fusion has a better sound system then this so called lounge… Geez…never again: S

Don’t go here!!! Save ur time and go somewhere else. Went here last night for a VIP Bottle Service Bday Party and definitely didn’t get a VIP experience. The club is located in a shopping strip next to other retail stores. Walking into the club the place is really small and looks very unattractive. The VIP area, which we had to share with another VIP group (what a dumb idea because a fight broke out) was disgustingly dirty. The walls were a white vinyl and you could tell some drinks had been spilled over them and never cleaned. The floor was soo sticky that us girls were literally stuck to it and would trip as we were dancing. The waitress were not really serving any drinks and we were serving ourselves. The worst part was the PAINT situation. One of the benches to sit had been just painted or something because the fresh paint got all over one of the girls pants and my shoes!!! How does that happen? To your club’s VIPs??? Music was great but sorry to say will never be back!

What a weird place. $ 10 cover which is ridiculous. The drinks are small but not cheap, the music is good but the dj was playing 45 sec clips of songs, it felt very spastic. The go-​go Dancers were dressed like mortal combat and there was a random guy in a bear costume. The smoke machine was so heavy that you couldn’t see an inch in front of you on the dance floor and it was cold. The crowd is not a good mix either. The only good thing was that this place got busy which seriously San Antonio has a big issue attracting people to one place, probably due to how spread out everything is. If you are hard up for some booty shaking and weird people gazing then I would suggest this, otherwise not worth the drive over.

I gave one star because no stars is not an option. This bar needs to CLOSE! The ghetto music is very loud and can be heard in the nearby homes. And the music can be heard well past 2am. The patrons that go to that bar can be heard when they are outside the bar and they start screaming and yelling because they think it’s cool. And the females dress like HOOCHIES. Ever since the bar opened there has been an increase in vehicle burglaries, assaults and car accidents due to the drunk patrons getting into their cars and do donuts in the parking lot and drag racing down Stoneoak Pkwy. The past two bars in that location tanked quickly and this bar is no different. Hopefully sooner than later.

Bad idea! When this lounge first opened it was THE place to be at & be seen. I went tonight with my friends, and I’m regretting that decision. I must say the DJ was great! From the venue to some random guy dancing in a green mask all night, it was trashy. The BIGGEST thing of the night was the fact that some men were fighting right outside the front door & not ONE bouncer proceeded to stopping them. Instead, they told the people sitting outside in the patio, including my friends and I, to hurry up & get inside. The bouncers & employees were in such a rush to get everyone inside while the fight was still going on. I asked one of the bouncers what was going on; and he said verbatim: «everyone needs to get inside. These are not the kind of people you want to be around with when they’re fighting.» How scary & unsafe! That was more than enough for us to leave! Very unsafe environment!

I went here in December for a friend’s birthday celebration. We showed up at 10:30 and were able to walk right in. Surprisingly it was colder inside the club that it was outside. They have go-​go dancers — one of them was great, the other was pretty lazy — womp womp. They have a strict dress code for men — only collared shirts and no boots. Some pros about Nektar Lounge: No cover!, and GREAT music — the DJ played a mix of top 40, house and dubstep. Cons: By 11:30 it was PACKED — our group couldn’t even move! Drinks are kind of expensive (but I guess it is Stone oak) and SMOKE galore — not even cigarette smoke, smoke machine smoke — and people were pretty rude :(. Don’t think I’ll be coming back, at least not by choice.

This place is packed on friday and saturday, but not in a good way. There is a line out the front door, but luckily the bouncers are easily bribed. When you finally get in you won’t be able to move. Place reminds me of sardines in a can… The layout is terrible and getting to the «VIP Areas» is a cluster f*ck. Generally speaking, the crowd was rude as well. The bartenders are fine once you finally make it to the bar. The GoGo dancers are pretty cute — I am familiar with some of them and if you go out frequently you’ll recognize them at another venues as well. The GoGo’s earn this place 2 stars instead of 1, but honestly I can’t recommend it.

What is this place? A club in the middle of a shopping center?! Yes, an upscale lounge/​nightclub in Stone Oak. I am so used to going out downtown or the strip, but this if def different and cool for locals to go so they don’t have to drive far. Some friends invited me here to join them and I brought my friends along. They had a Halloween contest and charged $ 10 at the door at midnight and kick you out at 3 a.m. I can’t really say how nice the venue is since it was decorated with bloody Halloween décor, which was very creepy and scary, so kudos for that. I really liked how the bar was centered in the middle and bright lights around it. They have VIP areas on both sides, so if you want to sit down you must have bottle service, I don’t think there was much security with that anyway anyone can go through and crash someone’s table. The music was good and they played each set long enough to dance to, and the crowd was not diverse, considering the location of the lounge. I can’t really say much about the drinks here since I chose not to drink, but did have someone offer me shots that was being carried around by the bar maid, tasted like juice! I had two to be sure, I don’t think there was any alcohol in there. I am up in the air about coming back, unless someone persuades me to go.
