Great product. Horrible customer service. Your product is as good as your ability to treat your customers. All of us standing in line to get our product couldn’t believe how rude the attendant was.

I like this little corner shop(shoppe?) right on the River Walk. Small servings, but good gelato, sorbet, and ice cream with a dozen or so flavors to choose from. Small annoyance, they participate in the«buy one get one half off» coupon but you have to ask for it, or they’ll keep it a secret. The second time we stopped by, and I remembered to ask, he still«forgot» and took the full price until I reminded him… he had to over ring to refund me.

Justin’s is a great option for some house made ice cream, gelato, and sorbet. I really wanted a cone of something that I couldn’t also get in the freezer section of a grocery store… and funny thing… I realized after I walked in, that this is where I stopped for ice cream the last time I was in San Antonio a few years ago. The staff encourage sampling which is great since they have some interesting, less common flavors. I ended up deciding on an apricot gelato waffle cone; it was very good! Creamy, with a nice natural flavor. The small for $ 4 is really about 2 scoops, so unless you really want a big cone, the small will probably do it! The last time I was here, I had pineapple gelato. How do I remember that? Because It was good, and I haven’t seen it anywhere else. The only downside, is that they do run out of flavors on busy days. Last time I was here, it was near the Festival of Flowers… and today is the Super Bowl! They still had a very large selection today though! Only a few had run out. Last time, they were down to just a few flavors left by early evening.

Justin’s Ice Cream Company is a nice place to stop and get your ice cream fix on a hot, sweltering San Antonio night along the River Walk. I did enjoy their Cookies and Cream gelato. As a matter of fact, the reason I found JICC is because I was genuinely jealous when I saw a group pass by me holding an ice cream gelato on a sizable waffle cone. I was able to trace their track back to Justin’s Ice Cream and to be honest, their gelato’s were alright.

Cute place to stop at when strolling through the river walk. Nothng special, the counter is mostly worked by young people that seem to only serve you if you wave at them or say hey, as i was patiently waiting my turn behind a touristy family and got cut in line by a man that caught the employees attention.like.seriously? if i crave ice cream on the river walk, i might go back. The ice-cream itself was ok. Nothing spectacular.

After seeing ice cream signs everywhere, my parents and I were craving ice cream for dessert after a nice dinner. Justin’s was suggested by our hotel as a good spot for some homemade ice cream. Conveniently located right along the riverwalk in the heart of the touristy area, this was easy to find. Lots of flavors and options, but the lady behind the counter wasn’t too enthusiastic with us trying some different flavors(oops). I ended up getting a scoop of pumpkin pie and a scoop of tiramisu(way too rich). Ice cream was yummy other than that! Justin’s was a good place to try, but I honestly liked Belgian sweets better!

We stopped into this lil shop to check out all the knickknacks and souvenirs and adjoined to the shop was Justin’s. Boy did we find it just in time for a little pick-me-up and cool off after us braving the heat on the Riverwalk for the past few hours. It was $ 4 for one scoop and $ 6 for two, a little pricey I think, but it sure did help to beat the heat. I had the dulce de leche, and the kids got vanilla, strawberry cheesecake, and cookies & cream. They were all so good and creamy and cold! Just a little note, they don’t accept any cards. Only cash or check, but they do have an ATM just inside if you’re willing to pay those fees.

Well this place is better than the other one that’s on the Riverwalk since it doesn’t taste as generic and has more variety. We had the Snickers and the Tiramisu. I would say the Tiramisu was better, but I think it’s also because that was a gelato. Cash or check… which I thought was totally weird about the check part. So, just bring cash! If you don’t have cash, they do have an ATM inside. There’s really not much seating and it’s part of a little souvenir shop, so don’t expect to sit and eat comfortably inside. $ 4 for a single scoop in a cup…

This place was great and is a local institution. Cash or check only. We got the snickers ice cream and the white and black. Clean restroom for paying customers too.

Justin’s Ice Cream Company is a sweet little spot to grab gelato and take a break from doing the San Antonio Riverwalk. The service here is sweet as they let you sample and they have an abundant selection of flavors in the front and then more towards inside the store. My selection of Guava gelato was sweet and satisfying. with a decent price point. Get your sweet tooth fix here and enjoy their treats! Love love love it~

A small simple shop that’s opened late — a necessity for the Riverwalk! The cold treats are color coded — red for ice cream, green for gelato. All the flavors are amazing. I always settle for something brown chocolatey but I have to say, the White Chocolate with Wild Berries was pretty incredible! Priced at $ 4 for 1 scoop($ 6 for 2), the guy gave me about 2 scoops! Generous ;) Would definitely come back after dinners at the Riverwalk!

I really wanted this place to be great because my name is Justin AND I love ice cream. Of course, that is silly, but we all want our names to be associated with greatness. Anyway, Justin’s was good but not great. In fact, while there was absolutely nothing wrong with this place, there was nothing special about it either. I liked that they offer ice cream, gelato, yoghurt, sorbet and sherbet, so there is something for everyone. Yet, though they are making the product in house, there weren’t any artisinal or experimental flavors, and the texture of the ice cream was good but not great. Justin’s is perfect for the family when out on the River Walk, but if you are hunting for something special, there is at least one other place in town you should look to first.

This place was okay! Was pretty busy when we stopped by. Loved the variety of flavors and types(serving ice cream, yogurt, sorbets AND gelato all in one place!), but they were all out of the popular stuff by the time we showed up on a Friday evening. My fiancé got some sorbet and some macarons, and I got some frozen yogurt in a cake cone. The sorbet was good, as was the yogurt, but the cake cone was stale and the macarons were… less than ideal in terms of flavor and texture. To say the least. But props to Justin’s for trying!

Justin’s Ice Cream Company is located on Riverwalk, near a tourist shop. It’s unique because it not only has many different flavors, but also has different types of ice cream, including sorbets, yogurts, and gelatos. I got the lemon torta gelato, which tasted simply amazing! I loved the handmade ice cream and the local concept of the place. Although it was a bit pricy for ice cream($ 4 for the smallest size), it came in a large portion. To be honest, I think it might be a perfect size for two; it’s a bit of a push to try to finish all of it, at least for me. Nevertheless, the taste of the ice cream was hard to beat — I enjoyed every bite of it! Definitely recommended if you end up coming to San Antonio. **They only accept cash or check**

It’s easy to be mediocre along the River Walk. Tourists are here by the thousands, and it’s easy to sell ice cream and gelato on warm nights. I recently had a chance to try several tastings of Justin’s ice cream. All were universally too sweet. I even asked the server for their tartest flavor, which was orange sorbet in this case. Still too sweet. My friends ordered gelato and seem to enjoy it. So maybe it’s just me. But after having many dishes of the the world-class gelato sold Bobboi in La Jolla, nothing else can really compare. On a positive note, Justin’s has a bunch of flavors. So there’s plenty to choose from. Even if it’s only meh.

The reason why this review is missing a few stars? Well, for an ice cream place that flaunts its Italian origins and Italian icecream there is a HUGE flaw. The Italian island of Sardinia is missing from the Italian maps all over this place, which I frankly find a big disappointment. How could you miss such a huge island?!? Aside from being the second largest island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is home to nearly two million inhabitants, with many more emigrants abroad. Sardinia is instrumental to the Italian state itself, as 150 years ago it was the Sardinian-Piedmont union that led to the creation of the modern Italian State. It is an island with a rich culture with a unique cuisine, whose history is fundamentally intertwined to Italy since Roman times. Without Sardinia Italy is sorely incomplete. It is extremely disappointing that such an important part of Italy would be omitted from your reference to the Italian origin of this place. For those of you who do not think this a big deal: try to imagin the USA map without Texas or your home State.

Perfectly decent ice cream but the staff and ordering experience could definitely be better. With half of the flavors inside and half outside, you have to do a lot of back-and-forthing to see what there is to offer, and it’s not clear where you’re supposed to order or pay from. The guy behind the counter was perfectly nice but again, just not super helpful. Also, they could really use better spoons. The plastic spoon we got with our ice cream bent before we could take our first bite!

We were craving for something refreshing and stopped by this place right before dinner. They have a good selection of flavors, but ran out of a few… I sampled a few flavors and went with my usual(chocolate and hazelnut) that I get from other gelato places. I got a small and it comes with 2 scoops! My friend shared her sorbet with me and I liked the sour flavors she chose– mango and lime! They also sell desserts and souvenirs here! The gelato kind of ruined my appetite for dinner, but it was just what we needed.

yum! lots of options in the ice cream, yogurt, gelato, and dessert worlds so you will not be at a loss for choices. I had a scoop of their snapping turtle which was just delicious — vanilla(i think) with chunks of chocolate and nuts: drool: too bad they didn’t have waffle cones by the time we got there, and be careful — cash only.

Justin’s is just ok in my book. First, having had gelato in Italy and been to a number of gelato shops not only in San Antonio but around the country, this gelato just wasn’t up to snuff. That’s not to say it was bad — it wasn’t. It’s just that is wasn’t nearly as good as any number of places in and around town. But like the old salty saying goes, Any port in a storm. Justin’s offers up a nice variety of not only gelato but also some sherberts as well. They even have an espresso machine should you desire a café affegato. The prices are a bit steep at $ 4 for a single and $ 6 for a double. It’s like airport prices on the Riverwalk. Capative audiences, huh?! The shop is quite small with only a couple of indoor tables. There are a few tables outside next to the canal, sorry, river, if you’re lucky enough to snag one. This is a cash only place but they do have one of those sketchy looking ATMs in the back of their shop. I’ve never felt comfortable using them so I didn’t. Luckily the missus had some cash otherwise we would have been moseying along. So, if you’ve got an itch for ice cream, err, gelato, Justin’s will be your port in the storm.
