I came in here yesterday and got a heb brand red soda for 59 cents that was pretty awesome

This place is super cool. As a dude that is incapable of making a grocery list, it’s nice to shop at a smaller place and just cruise up and down each isle to find stuff along the way. They have an awesome cold beer selection and some bomber bottles on shelves as well. Prices aren’t cheap, but not whole foods prices either. Super clean place with a premium vibe, I’ll definitely be back when I need to do some minor grocery shopping or pick up beer/wine. Also worth mentioning their prepared food section and bakery. Very extensive and even though a little pricey, pretty high quality stuff and good portion sizes. The clerks at the check out are young and very friendly. Everyone in Texas seems to not mind taking a minute to have a conversation with a customer which makes you feel very welcome. Also great that they have a gas station here and it’s brand new, very clean. Not sure how the prices compare, but don’t seem much more than surrounding stations(don’t quote me on that though!). Overall this is a great little grocery store and I’m happy it’s in my neighborhood.

This is a great place to grab essentials on the way home from work. It would be great if they had more gluten-free beers aside from just Redbridge(4th Tap, Omission, Bard’s Tale) and some organic vegetables for my spouse(otherwise, I get to hear a speech about«the dirty dozen» when I come home with run-of-the-mill broccoli and blueberries).

Hip and ready! This is a really great place for one stop food on the go. It’s a condensed version of the many H-e-b’s. If your hungry and want something other than fast food, you will have many options from the pre-packaged hot foods, sandwiches, salads, and many others. They also have a microwave oven to warm up your food if you want to eat outside on their picnic tables. However, I don’t recommend this place for your family’s grocery shopping because they lack certain brands, fruit/vegetable section(other than pre-cut fruit), and butcher area. This store is for starving tourists, people on their lunch break, already made dinners, and those who want a snack.

Whao! This is one hip HEB! This is the first HEB«Market» we’ve ever ran into! They actually jam some cool music, has a huge deli and fresh produce market for such a small store! Wide selection of wines and craft beers!, large selection of frozen foods. This will be our stock up store next time we’re in the area!

I’m obsessed with this HEB, I stop by every other day to pick up fresh food for breakfast and lunch, and can always find some sort of gourmet-ish idea for dinner! The staff is unlike no other! Always extremely friendly and willing to help! This HEB is basically a small selected version of Central Market! All it’s missing is a juice bar!

A little bit of just about every. Good selection of quick pick-up items. Health dinners, snacks, an even wine. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent place to pick up wine and ready made food, even if you have strict dietary restrictions. I hope they keep prices moderate.

I think Saturday must be 90’s night because all they were playing was music from that decade. At 23 years old I told my husband we must be younger than the anticipated demographic of 30 year olds. In my mind for whatever reason I expected an HEB Trader Joes, but miniature Central Market is more accurate. Parking has never been an issue and is actually usually less crowded than Trader Joes at the Quarry(as you can tell, I usually shop at Trader Joe.) The selection is ideal because it has mostly specialty, gourmet, organic, etc products as opposed to General Mills, Nabisco, Nestle etc though it carries the basics of those types of brands as well. There is even a good selection of Dr. Bronner’s products as well as other«green» household items. Over all no complaints.

The South Flores is very hip resembles a smaller version of Central Market. It carries your basic needs plus various gourmet-ish items. Lacks coffee shop and growler station and needs better selection of coffees. Their craft beer selection, while ok, could be more expansive. Wine selection is decent. Only has 1 bathroom but it does have a gas station. Music blasting was nowhere remotely to what’s playing at your local HEB; this was more alternative which was a welcomed surprise and should make the Southtown Hipsters rejoice. This HEB is convenient if you happen to either live in Southtown OR if you happen to be getting your day drinking on in Southtown AND also need to pick up groceries on your way home.

We love the grocery store and its long over due. As a Lavaca Neighborhood resident I have been limited to driving out of my way to get groceries. The best part of the new store is I no longer have to shop and suffer at the HEB+ on Southcross/N.New Braunfels.

Love it! It’s perfect for the small things to make it a daily stop which is what I was hoping for. I don’t like to buy in bulk, I want to be able to walk and grab dinner that I will prepare that night, so this is exactly what I had anticipated with a grocery store downtown. I do wish there was a coffee bar/juice bar, that would be fantastic, but this is opening a whole new world for downtown living in San Antonio! Four lanes doesn’t seem to be a problem the times I have been so far, it’s fast and quick which is great!

It’s great to finally, FINALLY have an HEB downtown!!! This one has a really nice patio space, which folks can enjoy lunch or coffee on for 5 months out of the year. There’s also a nice deli area for sandwiches and pre packaged(though fresh) meals for lunchtime or a snack. They’ve got a healthy wine and beer selection too. And it looks like they’ve got just about everything you would want from a grocery store. There’s a gas station, which is nice since there are not many downtown. Big takeaway, though, is that it’s too small. Like, the demand seems to already be too great. I think they were unimaginative and timid when it came to building a badass, first class, café and store. I know the downtown locale presents some issues, but there’s still plenty of room for more. This place needs an indoor eating area and a coffee shop. I’m on my bike, but parking already seems to be an issue. Four check out lines is probably not enough either. Happy it’s here. Wish it were better.

Despite all the controversy and stalling to bring a grocery store downtown HEB has created a small but largely unique experience. To be perfectly honest this location was specifically created to reflect its target audience: tourists, the downtown culture, surrounding lofts, King William residents and ultimately for their headquarter workers. In this particular location the theme seems to be «small.» Small parking lot. Small store. Small outside patio. Small aisles. Small shopping charts. Small lines. Small selection. Let me rephrase that. The store is catered to the person who wants to pick up choice items like milk, coffee, choice produce, etc. before or afterwork. It is meant for the shopper who shops on a day to day basis, like a New York grocery store. Gone are the shoppers with a million items in one cart. In its place is a shopping experience that is not so busy or involved. On the contrary it seems the goal is to not have a shopper linger here for too long. And I suspect that the choice of making the selection size limited and to the point; is in fact by design. For example they have a small bakery, deli, produce section, wines and craft beer selection for you to select from. Sure the space seems tight but as I was passing through the aisles it was not uncommon for a patron to simply say, «Excuse me.» I say this since it undoubtedly reflects a great deal of the patrons I noticed here: young professionals, lawyers, KW residents, artists, ten speed bikers; a woman with an epic shawl eyeballing a bottle of wine. People fumble in and out of your way but not in an impolite manner. The feel of the store is vibrant with bright lights, organized food shelves and above all uncluttered aisles. And since the store has adopted a minimalist approach the checkout lines as well as wait time is kept to a minimum. Each HEB location is different and reflects the neighborhood it inhabits. For that matter I like this one. I like that is small and charming. The sleek façade lends to the milieu of this place. The selection, although limited is very specific and to the point. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I think the parking situation leaves little to be desired but then again the theme seems to be «small». Which means your shopping time translates to that. You are either going to get to the vision of this particular location or it will go over your head. For my taste I like and appreciate it. So if your in the market for a bottle of Olde English 800, this place will not be for you. But if you’re planning to make a quaint dinner at the last minute for family, friends or a date then by all means step inside.

Downtown residents rejoice as the«downtown HEB» is now open! Opening its doors Wed 12÷2÷15 this HEB has been highly anticipated and I am glad to report that it does not disappoint… except when it comes to operating hours. This location is open 7a-9p daily… why you closing so early?! This location is, shall we say, cozy? Each row is tight so it can be a little difficult to navigate at peek times, be warned but, for the most part, the selection is not lacking. It has maybe a half dozen checkout counters at most and the produce section is a tight little corner. They do offer a great selection of craft beer(major bonus points) and wine as well. This location is more the«oh crap, I forgot the _________» rather than«I need to go stock up and get everything I’ll be making for Thanksgiving» so just be aware. Also if you need gas, this location has gas pumps that are accessible 24⁄7.

Our HEB actually has a lot of practical items, with a somewhat Central Market Flair. They primarily carry HEB Brand items, which is not the worst thing in the world. There are a few things such as laundry detergent that are way overpriced. Got to Dollar General on Commerce for those everyday household items. However all in it’s got a great selection of food including things needed for everyday cooking and preprepared meals. I will shop there regularly. Am I really the first to review? So cool…
