I had never tried the Breakfast buffet here and I have to say it was way more than i expected!!! The buffet is $ 8.99 and it ends at 11am. They have a juice bar, guy making fresh omelettes they way you like, biscuits and gravy, menudo, eggs, bacon and other traditional breakfast selections. I was pretty impressed woth the selection amd variety of food. It’s not bad at all for the price you pay. Service on the other hand wasn’t the best but it’s ok… foood made up for it lol… they do have a military discount!!!

First and last time ever going to a Golden Corral. Place was EXTREMELY busy for a Saturday night. Thought this was a good sign. Was horribly disappointed with the quality of the food and paid a «premium weekend» price of about $ 15 per adult with taxes. Drinks are an additional $ 2.29. Place was dingy and WAY, WAY too crowded. I literally felt like I was standing in cattle feed lines waiting to fill my plate with cheap, cafeteria quality food. The«prime rib» was unrecognizable — I’m honestly not even sure if it was prime rib. Overall, a lower class clientele, which also brings rude behavior, pushy lines, excessive noise, and kids running everywhere. Drink refills were non-existent. Was NOT a positive experience and would definitely skip this buffet for a Chinese buffet or a sit down meal, which may actually be less expensive in the end.

The food is typical to GC. My kid likes this place so we deal. The rolls were extra tough for some reason. Also, we noticed a constant onslaught of religious music playing overhead. Maybe I never noticed before because it’s been too crowded in the past. But, seriously, I don’t need to be preached to while I practice gluttony. A tune or two is reasonable, but a full course of Jesus music during my meal is torture. It’s a good way to chase people out. For me, it’s enough to keep me away. GC, don’t preach to me. Just let me get stuffed in peace.

We did a group lunch for a co-worker that is leaving us. They gave us a private room which was nice. The pot roast was cooked perfectly and the clam chowder was good. The food layout was a bit wonky compared to other locations. I couldn’t find the mash potatoes(co-worker told me where they were) while rice dishes were on both serving sides. Our server Javi was quick with the refills on our beverages. Everyone left with a full tummy and in the end, that is what counts.

Ok… apparently the manager of this location read the Unilocal reviews and cleaned house! In-laws and I went today to celebrate a birthday of the nephew’s restaurant choosing. I tried to get them to go to the 1604/Bandera location, but birthday boy suggested this one, so we went. I actually told our host about that last visit with the customer hitting on the help, and he was very attentive this time. Good thing. Anyway, food was very fresh… well, mostly. GC advertises breakfast all day, but they do not do omelettes past 11AM. Shame. Scrambled eggs were a bit dried out. Sausage was a little tough. But the bacon… well, the BACON more than made up for those issues. Can’t go wrong with BACON! YUM! Service was MUCH better this time around, and familia was very pleased.

Decided to try this location instead of my usual Pat Booker location. Place was so hot and stuffy, not sure if the ac was broken or what. Waitstaff was very slow… Food was ok. The blueberry pie tasted stale. Floors and restrooms were disgusting. Had I not been with my whole family who was hungry we would have left to go somewhere else.

Service(Alexis) spends more time talking to Hispanic customers than cleaning tables or refill tea. Not as much variety for meat, waited 2o min. For initial drink service. Dirty Restraunt and smells.

Well they used to be good, but not so much anymore. Their pot roast(when they aren’t out) is good, but that is about it. The place was dirty and the dessert area was pretty much empty. The waiter we had ignored us. I heard the 1604/Bandera one was better. Maybe we’ll try there but probably not.

Hadn’t been here in awhile an was disappointed in how the wait staff has been so negligent now. Had to wait awhile for a refill on drinks several times. :-/

We came here for dinner. The food and the service were ok. Good variety of food. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. The only complaint I have is all the fat people that come to this place eating like there is no tomorrow. Other than that we had a good experience.

Oh, pregnancy cravings. how I love and hate you. I never eat at Golden Corral, the thought of all the food under heat lamps and other people touching, sneezing, and coughing all over them makes me cringe. But, I decided to go check it out since it’s close to my work. One thing about this particular location is that it is extremely DIRTY. The bathrooms are dirty, everything is just gross(tables, floors, etc). That itself can make you enter and leave right away. There’s plenty of food options, but it’s not really worth it with how long most of the food sits there before being changed out. The servers here that refill your drinks and clear your plates are hard to find, you will be lucky if you actually get a good one. You will probably get only one visit by your server to clear your plates throughout your entire stay here. Lastly, kids under 3 eat free, so of course there is bound to be a lot of kids. The only problem with that is there are usually tons of kiddos running around especially around the buffet area which can be extremely frustrating(I’m not complaining about that, because my 4-year old is one of those too). Just, don’t.

I feel bad for the people that work here. Their customers are disgusting slobs. Kids running around making messes spilling food all over the place. Their hygiene is well below acceptable stds. Combine that with an understaffed restaurant and you have a recipe for a dirty restaurant. The bathrooms here are truckstop nasty.

Apparently San Antonio doesn’t have many buffet restaurants that aren’t Chinese restaurants. The décor is extremely dated but it satisfied my various cravings. Desserts and pot roast were good but the pizza was oddly greasy yet doughy. It was alright– not my top pick.

Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Yuck. If I could I wouldn’t give it any stars. It’s that dirty, folks! The floor was dirty and stained, there were ringmarks on the counter, i looked over the cashier and saw food all along the side of the buffet line and made a beeline to the exit! This is not what a buffet should look like… disgraceful!

I’m not a huge fan of buffets, but my boyfriend is. He and his friends came here for a breakfast buffet one weekend morning after a game of tennis, and he insisted on dragging me with him the next weekend. I’ve been to other GC locations and was not really thrilled with the experience, but this location seems cleaner and has more attentive employees, which made it a better experience overall. The breakfast buffet was extensive: barbacoa is even available, which surprised me, and there is a guy on site making omelets to order. Some items are out pre-made, such as the eggs benedict, which was subpar, but they also have some food items that are not breakfast-related, including a selection of taco meat, nacho cheese, and various dinner side type items that may or may not have been leftover from the previous night’s meal. Also, the salad bar is open, for anyone who takes a more lunch-like approach to breakfast/brunch. The dessert bar is pretty fancy though, even though I’m not a dessert person. Huge assortment of fresh cookies and cakes and pies, along with a soft serve machine and a Blue Bell station for fresh scoops. My preference was to combine a cookie and the soft serve with some chocolate sauce, but hey, I’m also a total glutton so don’t mind me. The fact that I’m able to customize what I want without getting a bunch of crazy looks is nice… but then again, part of why I don’t get crazy looks here is because the some of the other customers seemed a little off. In any case, not a bad choice for a variety of breakfast options– probably great for a large group or after church.

Maybe this review is unfair because I hate buffets to begin with and I didn’t choose to come here last night either. For almost $ 30 for my man and I to eat here, I’m thinking this place is a NO. We came for a family get together. The food is gross. Flavorless, weird textures and consistencies, the meat in the enchiladas was grey. The restaurant has a nasty mop smell. And my memory is once again renewed as to why I hate buffets. For the price, I felt compelled to stuff myself on food I wasn’t even enjoying. And on top of the ridiculous price, we have to feel obligated to tip this«waitperson» to refill our drinks once. Come on. And by the way, if it’s your birthday, they come out and ring an obnoxiously loud bell in your ear. Never again! And you can’t make me!

I have to confess right away that, almost without exception, I find the food offerings at chain restaurants do not inspire me. However, every once in a while, I’m tempted by their advertising. This month it was the ‘Chocolate Wonderfall’ at Golden Corral.(Forget it. It’s not that great!) That said, we did enjoy a good and filling meal at this restaurant sampling all the buffet items. The grilled to order steaks were as I like my meat grilled, charred outside and pink inside. Golden Corral will get a return visit from me on a night when I’m feeling strapped for cash and really hungry.(TIP: if you are like me and seldom carry cash, tuck a few bucks in your wallet for your waitress. You pay as you exit the line at the cashier, and I had to borrow five dollars from my pal to leave a tip for our waitress.(She was great!)
