Go Johnny Go Catering

We just used Johnnys for catering our monthly staff luncheon. It’s really hard to believe the high reviews on Unilocal — especially here in San Antonio where people know bbq. The brisket was fatty and tough, the chicken was black, and the sausage was horrible. The only decent dish was the potato salad. We rarely have much left overs from luncheons — but this was a first. At the end of the day most of the containers were still over half full. A few people had to take breaks to go outside during the afternoon due to the lingering smell. Now, we take responsibility for looking for a cheaper cost caterer — won’t do that again!

I am beyond happy with the service I received from Johnny and his team. First, he was able to accommodate my short notice catering request after I had my original caterer cancel, and them the taste of all the food provided was phenomenal! My guests all went back for second round! We ordered the sausage, brisket and bbq chicken sliders with mashed potatoes, green beans and creamed corn. All were tasty, but the sausage, chicken sliders and creamed corn had us licking our fingers and rubbing our belly! Also let me mention, his delivery service doesnt just drop off food, they set up buffet style and provide you with cutlery and sweet tea! I highly recommend Go Johnny go for all your catering needs! The customer service is fantastic too!

Our wedding was catered by Go Johnny Go in late September, and we had a wonderful experience. We had a very short engagement, and Johnny was so accommodating to us and our schedule. The staff all showed up to our venue on time, and the food was hot and ready when requested. Johnny even showed up to make sure that everything was set up and running as planned. They passed out our toast for us (which Johnny found toast glasses extremely last minute for us), and kept us on schedule with their timing! The food was excellent– of course the tasting it was slightly better since it wasn’t being made for such a large group– but we heard no complaints. We picked an extremely affordable Italian option. I wish we could have gone all out with his prime rib wedding menu, as I’m sure it was amazing! We would highly recommend working with this company.

Johnny and his team did a great job! I needed a caterer for a customer appreciation breakfast for 150 people. It was an early wake up for these guys! And I didn’t give them a lot of lead time.
The Assorted Egg Muffins were a huge hit. Both unique and tasty.
I’ll be working with GoJohnnyGo again soon.

I chose GJG Catering to arrange meals for my company meetings all week. There were no places that delivered on site south of San Antonio except for GoJohnnyGo! Customer service was excellent, communication, payment, and delivery went exactly how you would hope, perfectly!
I got to speak with Johnny himself, who was so helpful, accommodating, and patient with frequently changing and tweaking of orders throughout the week.
The ten or so co-​workers who were able to partake in the GJG Catering feast were very satisfied with the gourmet style deli sandwiches, salads, and much more that Go Johnny Go Catering offered.

I was looking for catering for our monthly staff luncheon. We were tired of the same old sandwiches, so we were excited to try goJohnny go. the immediate response was very good — this was when I was ordering and paying.
now comes the day of delivery. I got a call 10 minutes before we were to begin serving and was told the delivery person would be 10 minutes late. As it turns out, they were MORE than 25 minutes late and the meeting was starting. looks bad on me, like I can’t coordinate a simple meal for our staff. The food was not even warm and we didn’t have time to wait for the little burners to warm it up.
We were missing condiments that were promised as part of our fajita meal — the cheese and sour cream. We were also missing ICE for the ICED tea. I called right away so that the delivery person could come right back — NO RESPONSE! I emailed after our meeting was concluded — NO RESPONSE!

GoJohnnyGo catered my company holiday party this week. We ordered mixed fajitas with some substitutions for a few vegetarians. Johnny was extremely accommodating when it came to scheduling the event and making the veggie substitutions, which we really appreciated. He was also very affordable at $ 11/​person with a $ 50 delivery fee to Austin. I tried the rice and charro beans and loved both of them. I would have liked to try the fajita meat, but that’s where the 3 star part comes in. There was nowhere near enough meat. We ordered for 45 people and had one chaffing dish of meat. The veggies for the 5 vegetarians filled half a chaffing dish, so proportionally it just made no sense. We actually tried to call Chipotle and order some chicken last minute, but they didn’t have enough for a last minute sale.
Our other complaint was that we had no way to tip the delivery driver. He was so friendly and set everything up for us, but we didn’t have cash/​were using a company card and our receipts were just emailed to us. I felt terrible about it.
Overall, I recommend his service and would use him again, but I would probably order twice the amount of food, which makes him considerably less affordable.
