We tried the smoked wings, southern style, and sweet potato salad. Everything was soooo ahhhhmazing. I me some ranch and bleu cheese with my wings but this place knows it’s not necessary to have a dipping sauce with such good wings! Very good choice of beers is always a plus in San Antonio.

This place is a slice of Austin found in sa! It’s a simple yet amazing idea. They have a small menu of chicken wings and sides and they are awesome. The Nashville hot have great spice and flavor, the smoked change weekly, but this week was delicious. And from what I’ve heard, every variation is amazing. They have a great draught list and some good cans and bottles of craft beer. This place even makes a fried bologna sandwich and pimento cheese. This is a must visit!

This has probably become my favorite place in town to eat. They have the best quality chicken wings I have tried in San Antonio and the Nashville hot are just addicting if you enjoy hot food. I find my self craving them and driving across town at least once a week for them. There craft beer selection is great to go with the wings & always changing. Definitely a MUST try!

If you want to be around a bunch of pretentious hipsters drinking PBR while listening to some«DJ» hit play on his MacBook then go to any other bar on the St Mary’s strip. If you want a place with a great beer selection in a laid-back atmosphere then Attagirl is your best bet. The beer selection includes some local choices and some rare hard to find options, on tap, bottles and cans. There’s even wine in a can! If your hungry there’s some great bar food including Cullums famous wings and other options. The place is small but offers a great outdoor patio to sit back, enjoy some beers and make some new friends. Ps. The staff is always awesome.

This quaint little joint is all about chicken wings and craft beer, absolutely the best. The hostess /cashier /server was super friendly and the simple décor is a perfect place for a late weekend lunch.

Chris Cullum’s newest venture is the perfect addition to the St. Mary’s Strip area. Attagirl is an icehouse with amazing beers, and the best fried chicken in town. If you like spicy food check out the hot wings, be warned though, they are HOT! I had one, yes only one, and didn’t feel my lips for 45 minutes. They aren’t just gratuitous heat though, they have flavor. I don’t understand the people that just want the hottest possible sauce for the sake of it being hot. Why wouldn’t you want some flavor too? If you are not a fan of the heat, go for the country fried. The wings are crispy and moist. Wash it down with a craft beer or a Lone Star. This is a place that anyone can get comfortable at.

Very upset with the customer service here. I came in on Sunday night, after a long day of work to watch the cowboys. My friends said they were watching football all day at atta girl, so when I was off I decided to go check it out. However, when I got there, AMC was on instead. I asked the bartender if she could change it, and she said«I have been watching football all day, and im going to end my shift watching what I want.» Needless to say, after a long day at work, this was not the answer I wanted to hear. I did not make a purchase and left immediately. I run a business as well and customer service like that is a fireable offense. I will not be attending this venue ever again thanks to her actions.

Not a fan… yet. The cool thing about this places is that it maintains the nice divey look from the older iteration, really good wrap around porch with ample shade to hang out in and impressively good chicken produced from small tabletop fryers. The smoked chicken wings were quite excellent with the wings boasting a gentle hint of smokiness and really good flavor. The Nashville hots were not hot enough in my opinion but the chicken itself was perfectly fried with a crunchy outside and just perfectly cooked juicy inside. It always needs a touch of salt though. Every time I have been there, there seem to be some sides missing and the kicker is they are quite snarky about it, like it is some f’in incredible thing that we are not deserving of. There is charming snark(you know the tongue in cheek snark…) and crappy snark… and this is not charming. I have enjoyed the place more because of the company I kept on all the trips. I do think its a’ok, but not on my fan list yet.

I can’t say enough about this place, except that me and my hubby were splendidly surprised with their different variety of beer. My picky husband had an imperial stout(he loved it) and I had a refreshing pineapple cider, deliciously light! They had a unique“Not My Father’s Root Beer” that I’d like to taste next time I’m there. They have a small, but yummy selection of fitting appetizers, mostly chicken with sides that just hit the spot! I ordered the southern fried chicken wings that had a ‘tajin’ type of seasoning added on top with Japanese peppers. It added the right type of spice that will take you to places just like Dorothy on the Wizard of Oz, lol. My husband had the Nashville wings that were delicious and extremely spicy. So delicious, seriously awesome! Lighting is dim. Music is of all types not loud enough to interrupt your conversation. They have the original refrigerators from last businesses that add to the old school vibe of the place. So if your around the area you have to try this friendly neighborhood bar, you can’t miss out! Love this place, I’ll be back for sure!

I can’t even. No. Too many good choices. If anything, come for their daily smoked wings — life changing. If you’re an adventerous eater, their wings won’t disappoint as they change their recipe and marinate/season them in something different weekly. So far, every damn wing I’ve devoured the last weeks I’ve been there, has been consumed to the bone. For those of you less adventurous, there’s the traditional southern fried which are well seasoned and then there’s the Nashville HOT, which will put hair on your hair. Aside from this, they have an old school fried bologna and pimento cheese sammy which will take you back. Wayyyy back. If you’re looking for brunch or brunch at night, look no further, they have chicken and waffles. Boom! Breakfast and dinner in one. Their waffles are so tasty and fluffy, goddamn what a rush! If you want sides, they have plenty: slaw, potato salad, chips and pies. I think the terminator said it best, «I nid yoh clothess, yoh boots and yer motercycle.» I keed! I keed! I’ll be back!!!

Friday night, after happy hour with few friends, I had the munchies for fried chickens, so I came here and ordered the Nashville Chicken. However, when I got my order, another friend called and wants to meet up for dinner somewhere else, so I had to take my chicken to go and didn’t get to eat it until Sat morning. I’m so glad I ate it at home because Nashville Chicken is one spicy rooster, and I CAN eat spicy food. It is a mixture of sweet(honey?) and spice, which is a great mix, but the spice lingering on and started spreading, I had to rush to get some Soy Milk to combat the burning sensation on my tongue. Anyhoo, as I wipe away my tear and sweats, I decided to write this review, so this is a live broadcast Overall, LOVED the Nashville Chicken, I’m sure it would’ve tasted better if I ate them on the spot, but then who would want to see a grown man sweat/in tears on a Friday night? That’s just bad for business. They also have Craft Beer, Bonus Point!

Holy crap. Not sure what else to say. This place has amazing, made-to-order fried chicken, which is all we ate when we visited. I came here with a group of colleagues and we ordered all the chicken varieties on the menu that day and not one disappointed. The hot Nashville-style chicken was everybody’s favorite, but the others impressed as well. Unfortunately, they were all out of sides(yep, all of them), so it was a chicken only meal for us. So, I can’t opine on anything other than the delectable chicken; I am looking forward to going back and trying the other offerings at some point in the near future. Added bonuses are a solid beer and wine selection and super cool and friendly staff. I will be back.

Wings were killer, especially the chicken bacon! Southern fried were very tasty as well. The charc board was great, although the chicken sausage with turmeric could have used some salt. The building was approaching uncomfortably hot for me, until we moved to sit in front of the window unit AC. I guess that’s what happens in an older building like that. The cold beer(Ruta Maya Dark Schwarzbier from Atware Brewery) did help in cooling us off as well. Definitely will be back and I’m looking forward to sitting on the patio when(if) it it gets cooler out!

Really enjoyable down-home Southern cooking– with a twist! They have a great selection of wonderful foods, that changes on a regular basis. Try their Hot Chicken! It’s served Nashville style, with a few pieces of toast, a red sauce that smacks of cayenne pepper. It’s hot! Fortunately, they have a good selection of beers that would make any beer nerd happy! The service is wonderful. You can watch the chefs work their magic from the seats at the bar. They take great care to do it right! I also tried the bologna sandwich, made with homemade bologna and a pimento spread that was delicious! I’ve never had anything like it. The place is quaint and small, with a nice wrap around porch out front to sit and watch the traffic roll by. Parking can be a problem. Park on one of the side streets.

HOTCHICKENWILLCHANGEYOURLIFE!!! The beer selection is great, they made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my Vegan friend. That Hot Chicken lit me up! I don’t think I’ve had an experience quite like that in some time. I love spicy food, so I love it when I finally find something that challenges me. I had to throw in the towel half way through the second piece. You need to be eating here! This place should have a waiting list its so good!

Nothing but great things to say about Attagirl! I’m not a wings fan, I know, I’m an alien– but the wings were on point! Great beer selection; they even have a section on special for $ 4. I opted for a cider to go perfectly with my piping hot chicken. This is a no frills joint. Sit and order at the bar, or sit outside and your food will be delivered to you. I can’t wait to go back and try more items. Yes the menu is limited, but quality over quantity people!

Attagirl is now my latest craze. Can’t get enough. First of all, the ambiance, it’s a cool little neighborhood hangout, that offers great food and draft beer. Second, their killer fried chicken wings. You can have either with a little honey glaze(I personally do without), or you can order the HOT chicken, which if you can handle spicy, then by all means go for it. Now growing up, I was traumatized by horrible pimento cheese(the store bought). But Attagirl has made me a believer again. Now I crave their homemade pimento cheese sandwich with the fried chicken bologna(I know folks) I also would not eat bologna but now I do. And their chicken salad is heaven. The drawbacks are that parking is on the street and this place is small, but I love the casual atmosphere, especially when it’s not crowded. You can be working all day, and stop by and grab a sandwich, sit outside, and enjoy. Great addition to the neighbor.

I am unsure if Cullum’s is a bar trying to be a fried chicken restaurant, of if they’re a fried chicken restaurant trying to be a bar. Either way, things seem a bit out of balance. The space is cute. Super hole-in-the-wall and«Hill Country» feeling. On the small size, definitely not a place you’ll want to bring a large group or plan a «y’all come meet here for happy hour» type place. The draft beer selection is on the small side, but they have some unique selections that you may not find too many places(e.g. the newest brew from Oklahoma’s Prairie Brewing Co). We had heard from friends that this is some of the«best fried chicken» they’ve ever had. Mention«best fried chicken» and I’ll stop what I’m doing to get there. However, we found out that they change daily what they offer, and there’s really no way to know what’s on offer that day(i.e. bone-in pieces of fried chicken vs wings vs which«flavors», etc). We called a few times, but they never answered, hoping to find out what was on offer that day. We *hoped* to be able to try the normal pieces(breast, thigh, etc) of fried chicken, but on this day they had only«flats»(wing) and drumettes in two flavors: southern(honey sweet) and spicy. Both were good but fairly average. The spicy really was spicy – so careful if you can’t handle. If we would’ve known that they were only serving wings/legs, we probably wouldn’t have made the trip. Wish there would’ve been an easy way to know so we couldn’t planned go on a day when they had normal pieces. Lastly, we asked the staff«is fried chicken the only thing on your menu?». They asserted and assured us: «yes, it’s all we have.» The super strange thing was – that only three feet away – we saw the chef making and serving homemade pimiento cheese sandwiches to guests sitting at the bar. That’s cool – a chef making something special for people he knows, but don’t mislead patrons by doing it for all the world to see/not offering it on your menu. Overall — if you’re in the neighborhood and want a cold local/regional beer and a piece of chicken, it’s worth a quick stop.

Absolutely amazing fried chicken and a nice selection of craft beers on tap to wash it down with. The hot chicken is kicked up with a healthy dose of cayenne pepper. It bites back but was not so overwhelming so I was still able to taste the delicious chicken. The Southern Fried Chicken Wings are finished off with a little drizzle of honey. To be honest I was so afraid that it would be too sweet for my taste. But it was not as the honey taste was very subtle. I got this a second time and the honey was overwhelming. Would definitely order again but with no honey. Both of these were very tender and juicy. Made to order so the chicken is served nice and hot, right out of the fryer. In addition to the fried chicken smoked wings are on the menu. These are fantastic. A nice complimentary smokiness and the chicken is so moist and tender. A nice opition when you don’t want fried. Two sandwiches have also been added to the menu. The first is fried bologna sandwich made from chicken bologna. This sandwich has a wonderful house made pimento cheese. I’m not a fan of pimento cheese but this is fantastic! The second is a wonderful chicken salad sandwich. They use the southern fried chicken and add some paprika to the Mayo for a subtle smokiness. AMAZING!!! This is definitely on my list of places to go for some delicious chicken. A fantastic ice box chocolate pie has been added to the menu. They are individual sized pies. So good, I recommend saving room for one. The perfect ending to an excellent meal.

Stopped by Atta Girl for a beer and a snack, and they did not disappoint. They have a small but diverse selection of beer and cider. There’s a little something for everyone. They did not have a food menu when we went, but said they would bring us something to eat while we drank our beer on the adorable patio. Very mysterious, as we didn’t actually get to pick anything from a menu! First course was the chicken wings. These wings are what dreams are made of. Then, they brought us blood oranges with cracked pepper and watermelon slices with cayenne pepper and salt! Everything was fresh and perfect. The staff is so friendly and sweet at this great neighborhood joint. I will be a regular.
