What a marvelous place. The atmosphere is just simply beautiful and peaceful. The staff took care of my wife and myself for a complete hair and spa package and were feeling brand new. We will come back again and again.

Let’s get the facts straight. I came in with appointment and told you that five years ago in Austin my hair was damaged. I cut it into a bob and hadn’t touched it with the exception on one color process in Dallas that was done beautifully. The reason I told you the story was I wanted to ensure your staff was comfortable with thick curly black hair. The highlight were put in my hair took her about an hour. Then highlights put in my girlfriends hair took her about an hr. She left highlights in her hair about an hr. That’s three hours since they started my hair. She toned her hair about 30 mins. Not the right color… toned it again another 30 mins. Fourth hour since first highlight touched my hair. Now she cut and dried her hair then she got to my hair. Again we posted the timeline on social media so I can completely collaborate the time line. If you were so willing and made the promises why would I pay another salon to cut my hair? Even with a pixie cut I’m told it will take at least 4 – 5 more cuts to remove the damage. I don’t want anything I just want people to know what I experienced. Again had the owner been cordial I would if allowed the salon to cut off my hair and continue to do so until my hair was healthy again. Unfortunately that was not the case.

My girlfriend and I received a 3.5 hour spa package from our husbands at Christmas and this place was a nightmare! First– they were 40 minutes late in getting started. They didn’t even get us into a comfy robe to wait, instead we sat in their lobby waiting room in our regular clothes watching snow blizzard coverage on CNN. When it was finally our time they took us to a changing room but they only had one so we had to either take turns standing outside the door in a hallway or change in the same room. We also had to share a locker, which was fine I suppose but nor my preference. From there we waited in their«spa waiting room» for about 5 minutes until they took us to the dry sauna around the corner. The dry sauna which was fine, in fact it was probably the best part of the whole experience but it was kind of hard to mess up, but then after that they split me and my friend up! She went to get a mani pedi while I went upstairs for my «salt scrub, massage, and facial» That’s rude. We came together, they should assume that we would you know… Want to spend time together not separately? So then I get to the room to do my salt scrub and instead of having a nice small tricks of water flowing so the masseuse could rinse her hands– no. Instead every 3 minutes it was a huge woosh of a running faucet on full speed which is not relaxing and tranquil, not to mention that every time she checked her iPhone(which was at least 4 times) the music would pause until she got out of whatever app she was in to let it un-pause. Once the masseuse straight up took her phone out of the room and just left me in there quiet and then came back and plugged it back in! Can this place not spend $ 40 to get a sound machine in its room? Then the masseuse proceeded to do my facial which was fine, nothing really to rave about. I didn’t get an explanation of what she was putting on my face or the reason behind it which would have been helpful if I wanted to purchase the product from them at the end of my session. After this was done, I was moved to a different room 3 doors down that was a massage room. I had no idea at the time why I was required to move from one room to the next but had to get up and put ton my robe to scurry three rooms down and then get under another set of sheets. Finally it was massage time and I put down on my sheet that I preferred a light touch and to focus on hands and feet because I have poor circulation and get cold a lot. This sheet was clearly never read. Instead– she jammed her hands into my neck and shoulder for«these knots I have» so hard that I literally cringed and had to be like«ow»! Also– during this first 20 minutes of the massage the door to my room was left open so I got to listen to a group of girls chatting in the waiting room below about how«each other is such a slut and SO bad for what they did at the club the night before» and at one point someone actually DRILLED something into the wall. And then, the reason that I was moved became clear. A minute later my girlfriend was led into the room adjoining to mine. I hear the masseuse came into the next room so she was going back and forth between my massage and her scrub. I honestly feel like I spent 60 minutes on the table but got 20 – 25 minutes of massage and spent the rest of the time waiting while she worked on my friend, all with the sounds of rushing water AGAIN. When all was done she was like ok you can go downstairs and wait for them to take you to your mani pedi and then left the door open again so I had to get up completely naked and scurry to my robe! SHELEFTTHEDOOROPEN!!! At this point I was beyond mad and disappointed but at least I had a pedicure to look forward to. Thirty minutes of waiting in their waiting room later and hearing the girl at the desk talk to someone about her Mother in Law I had enough. I got up and walked back to the changing room and got dressed and walked back upstairs to give our shared locker key to my friend. When I got back down to the desk I asked to speak to a manager and they asked me if I was ready for my pedicure. I told them that I had been 30 minutes ago but needed to be up for work at 5am and didn’t want to start my last services when I should have been doing and going home to dinner with my family. Admittedly they were apologetic and said there was not a manager there but to write everything down and the owner was upstairs and would reach back out to me. It was then that I realized that ITWASTHEOWNERTHATWASTHATMASSESUSEUPSTAIRS! I was horrified, and started writing everything down when my friend came out dressed. The owner came to the desk and I was able to express my concerns to her but she didn’t have the best customer service. She cut me off in my first complaint to tell me that when we called, we had to specify that we wanted our services together and I was insulted. This wasn’t a case where my friend and I booked appointments at 3 separately– my friend called an

I can’t say that my spa experience here was even almost good. I originally went to get a full spa with the massage, the sauna, pedicure, and reflexology. When I got there they took me into the sauna and I sat in there for a very long time. Then they came to get me to do my pedicure, the person who did my pedicure put one coat of nail polish on my toes and it look like something that I could have done at home. Then I was informed that the person that does the reflexology and the massage left to go home because they weren’t feeling well. I wish they would have told me that in the beginning because I wanted to full spa experience. So they apologized to me and took my information and stated that they would send me another coupon I gave them my email address gave them my phone number and I never heard from them again. So I waited a couple of months just to see what was going to happen and still nothing. So I called them back and the person that answer the phone remembered who I was so she made another appointment for me. When I came back there again put me in the sauna for about 40 + minutes. Then they walk me to the stairs and said you can go ahead upstairs and get dressed and I’ll be up there in a moment. No one woke me in knowing show me the room nothing just walk up there and get undressed. Then the masseuse came upstairs and she started the massage and for the first 5 to 7 minutes she talk to me. When I get a massage I want to relax I don’t want to sit there and listen to someone talk. Then I started to notice how quickly she was finishing the massage so I counted in my head when she got to my arm to see how long she was actually massaging me and I didn’t even reach 30 before she was finished. I don’t know what they consider reflexology but her just rubbing my feet is not reflexology. When she finished my super speedy massage she told me just to lay there and relax for about 10 minutes. When she walked out I grabbed my phone and 37 minutes later she came back to check on me. I don’t know if a bunch of friends got together and said let’s open a spa but there was no one there that seemed qualified enough to be running that place and even though it was very cheap because I got it on Groupon I’ll never be back.

I booked an appointment here for me and a girlfriend while we were in town for her bachelorette party. We showed up for our appointment and were told that it had been cancelled. We were not notified in any way that it had been cancelled — no call, no email. We drove 30 minutes across town to be turned away. We were only in town for the weekend and when we tried to reschedule for another day that weekend they said they did not have any available appointments. I understand that they might be busy, but considering they cancelled our appointment without even letting us know I expected them to be more accommodating. I would not recommend using this spa. I found them to be very unprofessional.

Over Spring Break my sister and I went to the spa for a pedi, sauna, and massage. We were greeted with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff. We were showed to a changing room and locker area and given plush robes and slippers to change into while we had our services. The services themselves were awesome and the delicious snacks were refreshing and hit the spot as we leisurely enjoyed ourselves. I really liked that we were never rushed or shuffled around but received professional service but with a personal touch. Definitely going back and going to gift to girlfriends as well! Highly recommend!

My husband & I are relatively new to the San Antonio area. Groupon is a great way to check out local business at a reduced rate, so being a huge fan of day spas I decided to give Cara Mia a chance. I purchased a couples massage w/a cinnamon sauna and complimentary champagne and chocolates. When we drove up I was pleasantly surprised, as the atmosphere was quite nice; regrettable, my impression of the spa went quickly down hill once we walked into the door. We appointment was at 3pm and we did not walk out of the door until after 6pm. I wish I could say we were there for three hours getting the best of customer service, but that was not the case at all. We waited FOREVER before we were taken to change out of our clothes, handed dingy white robes, and led to the VERYCRAMPED(we were not the only patrons in the sauna; think of sardines in a can) sauna. Not relaxing & certainly nothing«cinnamon» about it. We were given ONE glass of water in a plastic cup while we were in the sauna. At this point we were told they were short staffed, so instead of the soothing, romantic couples massage I had paid for we were informed that one would be massaged while the other watched and then the other would be massaged. No champagne was offered to either one of us yet & no chocolates. I sat and waited for my husband to finish; fuming that I was being completed ignored(might have been a good time to be offered the promised champagne, but no, the staff were too busy eating off the plates of snacks that looked like they had been sitting out since the day before. By the time my husband finished, I just wanted to get out of there. The owner & receptionist both apologized and said they would email me a certificate to come back in and get the massage I paid for. I never received anything from them. So unhappy with the whole experience. Did not live up to what it promised at all! I understand that staff get sick and call off, but we should have been informed of what was going on up front and given the chance to reschedule. And why promise you are going to try and make things right by sending a gift certificate and not follow through? Try Dermalily on Alamo Street for superior service. This place is a major rip-off.
