I paid $ 65 for a bike build. While they did finish assembling the bike, their quality control sucks. After picking up my bike and a lock I left their shop and rode home — below are my gripes. First stop sign in the Pearl — I have no brakes! Pulled on the brake lever and lever went all the way to the handle with no grab. Luckily I knew enough to mess with the barrel adjusters so that I could get some grab to slow enough to where I could stop with my foot. Their bike tech should have noticed that there was zero grab on the brake levers indicating a mis adjustment. After getting to my house I dismount the bike only to have the handle bars get pushed down. It seemed that they only tightened the stem enough for a final adjustment, but there was no final adjustment at the shop. Lastly, they missed one of the bolts that hold on the back fender. I’m hoping the vibration of the fender not being connected is what made the noise I experienced on my ride home at higher speed. I won’t know until I remove the back wheel, install the fender correctly, and put the wheel back on. My issues could have easily been mitigated by the shop telling me to take a spin around the parking lot(to which I would have at least found out about the brakes) or communicating to me about the rear fender debacle. I won’t be back and I will recommend against coming here. It’s a shame too as they are the closest to my house.

Their Thursday night social rides are so much fun. Rent a bike and do a tour of the fun spots downtown and the surrounding area. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will help you select the right bike or accessories for your needs. Check em out!

Tell me on what planet can a bike shop, in good conscience, charge for a simple test ride around the block? Through the years, I’ve purchased a few bikes from this establishment — at the 09 location mostly — and was never, ever subjected to such greed. Thank sweet baby Jesus that we now have many other bike shop options in San Antonio. Oh, and did I mention that the $ 16 test ride was for a setup for my 3-year-old? Shameful. Zero stars, if possible

This is a smaller bike shop that mainly seems to work on repairs and tune-ups. They do sell a few bikes here, but they were mainly all the same brand and nearly the same style. The other bike shops in the neighborhood seem to have a deeper inventory of bikes. But if you’re looking for some gear or gears, they can help you. They keep a good selection of parts on hand to be able to get you back on the road in no time. The prices here are a bit on the steep end, but you know that they’re using quality parts, brand new. If you’re looking for a deal using used parts, try another place. My favorite thing about this store location is the fact that they have a bike tool setup right at the front door. If you need air, a wrench, a hex key, or whatever, they have the tools right in the front. So if you just need a quick adjustment, this is the place to stop by. The service was quick and the employees were nice. Parking looks to be like an issue here, but if you’re on a bike– no problem! They also have rentals! I prefer the B-Cycles, but if you’re looking for something that’s presumably more cool looking and more lightweight than a city owned public bike, they can get you outfitted.
