Four star review for this place? Ridiculous. This place is TERRIBLE. The chips are stale and greasy. The queso came out with a «skin» on top and tasted fake carnival cheese from CostCo, and the«award winning margaritas» have a terrible powdered-sweet-and-sour-mix that leaves a chalky taste in your mouth. I thought this might be the case, but opted NOT to pay the $ 25 for a shot of Patron fee to just drink tequila. The best bang for your buck? GOSOMEWHEREELSE. Your wallet, and plumbing system, will thank you.

Very disappointed in this restaurant. I’m here on business and wanted some authentic Texmex. Instead I got tomato paste for salsa, over cooked rice, and taco/chalupa shells that tasted stale and bland. When I asked for a hotter salsa I was brought tabasco with no other option. If you are in an area that prides themselves on Texmex have a halfway decent salsa or at the very least have good Mexican hot sauce in a bottle available. Tabasco really?! On a plus side the atmosphere is nice, refried beans tasted decent and the beer is cold.

Directly on the Riverwalk. Chill atmosphere. All TVs had football/sports. DJ played a good mix of older and newer music. Dancing was at a minimum, but most likely because everyone was absorbed I the game on TV, however there was an ample dance floor for a small crowd of that’s your thing. Drink prices were average. Not cheap, not too much $$. Bartenders were fast & friendly. They remembered what we were drinking and were quick to refill. Downside: they closed at 1:30am on a Saturday night. Bar was full, they turned the lights in, music off and shooed everyone out promptly at 1:30. I would definitely visit the Agave again!

Great place to hang out! We wondered in from the restaurant next door not realizing we were supposed to check in with the hostess. One of the men that worked there found a table for us. We just wanted a place to finish watching the game. After a few minutes and realizing they weren’t showing the game I wanted to finish watching we got up to leave. The same nice man asked us what was wrong and I explained that everything was fine and I just wanted to finish watching the Alabama/Auburn game. He said well come sit at the bar and asked the bartender to turn it to that game. How great was this! I was in heaven. We ordered drinks and finished watching the game. We hung around for awhile after the game because the music was awesome! The guy playing was even taking requests. He played a song for my husband so I made sure to tip him. I feel bad that I didn’t get names because that isn’t like me. The music was great and the service was fantastic.

Stopped in for a drink(60oz margarita) while walking the riverwalk. Only downfall to this experience was the birds going crazy around us on the patio which they can’t help. But also everything was sticky! Seemed like they just we’re not wiping things down well enough & also we never got chips and salsa. Our waiter was great though!

Exact night(Nov 6th) me and some friends were downtown for more wife birthday. Walking along the riverwalk we heard some good music coming out of this place. Decided to go in and there it was an addition on to our bar hopping route when we go downtown. Great music, good people. I really enjoyed this place and def will go here again.

This bar seems to be connected to the Café olé on the Riverwalk. We came here Halloween night looking for a fun place. There were crazy lights and loud music and tons of people, so we decided to go inside and check it out. Later, when trying to write a review, I could not find this bar on Unilocal,so I started a new«business». This place had a ton of dance space and a great bar with a DJ. It was so much fun on Halloween people watching and checking out everyone’s costume. The DJ was great and there were TVs everywhere. Most were playing the videos that the DJ was playing. Their claim to fame is the 60 oz margarita. I ordered a Vodka Tonic and my wife ordered a whiskey sour. Both drinks were very weak, so we switched to beer and shots. We were wondering if the 60oz margarita was weak so my wife went and asked a couple who had ordered one. The girl said it was strong and the guy said it was weak. Maybe somewhere in the middle lies the truth. One thing is for sure– they probably paid a lot of money for that fishbowl! This place was a ton of fun, so I would definitely go back, but would not pay $ 9 for weak mixed drinks… it’s definitely a beer and shot bar.
