My mother and I came into AA Best Bail Bonds to inquire about bailing a young man out from Magistrate. He has no family here and nobody to bail him out. Upon arrival, a young Daniel helped us(there are two Daniels) We asked Daniel what would happen and how long this young man would stay in there if no one were to bail him out. We were told that he would be in there until his court date, which could be a month or two. With that being said we found URGENCY in getting him out. Daniel called Magistrate for us, gave us a clipboard, we gave him $ 100 in cash to go to the bail, and left ecstatic as to how easy that was! He was such a nice guy and we grabbed a card cuz we’d definitely be back if, God forbid, we ever have to experience this again. Within FIVEMINUTES we returned because Magistrate said our friend had qualified for a PR Bond and the process started over an hour ago. Our bails bond guy had already called them so why in the world would this be an issue? Nonetheless, we returned to Daniel with the news. He said he already put our money in a safe and couldn’t give it back to us. He also said we needed to fill a refund request form that would take up to 30 days. Lastly, they reserve the right to keep $ 40 of that $ 100. This was so ridiculous ! We aren’t mad at Daniel because he is just following a policy, but in 5 minutes we gave this Bails Bond business 100 hard earned dollars and they were just gonna keep it. We were trying to do a good deed, help someone out, and in no way take money from a business. We felt so robbed. $ 100 is NOTHING if it goes towards a friend … But in this case we gave $ 100 to a business and in 5 minutes couldn’t get it back!!? We are paying for a service. We are NOT asking for their money back… We are asking for OUR money that they didn’t have to do anything for. If it went towards the bail, we could easily shrug it off but it’s the principle and this being plain wrong that I’m fighting for. I came back the next day to talk to someone in charge being that our bails bond guy had no say… The guy told me they are STERN on their policy and that we should have checked if someone was bailing him out.(Which we did)… It wasn’t our fault and doesn’t have to be their fault either –but my complaint goes to this flawed policy that KEEPSMONEY they didn’t have to do anything for. My family always helps ppl and this was so distasteful. If you go here make sure they ask the status of the defendant because the officer we spoke with said the bails bond should have done. Good luck!(My first negative review) 2 stars is for the nice apologetic guy we first dealt with. Otherwise I’d do zero! :(
