Came from out of town and NEEDED a cut sooo bad, was walking down the street, saw 22 and thought I’d take a chance! It was FREEZING out and I didn’t think they’d be open or even take a walk in! They were SOOO friendly at the front desk and asked me to wait for just a minute so I did. A minute later I got the lovely ms Natalie Ruiz! Let’s start with, my hair is THICKWAVYUNRULYFRIEDLONGETC not fun hair, and I told her I was from out of town so for all she knew she’d never see me again! But instead of giving me a quick trim and sending me out the door the spent forever thinning and trimming and fixing to my hearts content! She styled me beautifully and was such a pleasure! I HIGHLY recommend her! Anyone with hair like mine understands not ever stylist is brave enough or motivated enough to really try and Natalie so did! She made my weekend and made me leaving feeling like a new woman! I haven’t found a stylist yet to match her so I guess I’m planning a road trip every time I need a cut! Lol thanks 22!

Don’t go to this place. It’s really sad, probably poorly paid employees who are very nice but the place is so depressing. They give you wine and charge for a pretty expensive pedi in a really weird get up. It’s like someone is trying to make money on the really cheap. And the pedi wasn’t great at all($ 45). Just don’t go, hate this kind of sad place.

I don’t even know where to begin. I had an appointment for a facial, pedicure and manicure. It was a gift certificate that I had won. My appointment was at 1 and didn’t get seen until 1:40 and I had paid for a 3 hour parking. Needless to say I was finally seen beginning with a pedi. It was ok nothing different. My mani started but it was more of a nail polish change. I had shellac so they had to wrap my nails in fool. After that no soaking of my nails or massaging of hands just a polish change to me. It’s 2.50 hours later and still needed my facial. I was not going to pay for another 10.00 for parking for additional hours to get a facial. At this point I was done. The owner did apologize for the delay but no offer was made to pay for parking. After all they were 40 minutes late. Note to owner… if you have a client that makes an appointment for a facial, mani and pedi, please make sure to have someone start on time. I specifically asked when I made the appointment how long this would take. You stated 2.50 hours and that is why I paid for 3 hours of parking.

After years on Unilocal and doing social media for work, this is my first review. My experience was too good not to comment on! I got my nails done by Sylvia today and it was the best mani pedi I’ve ever had! I just moved from San Francisco and was dying for my old salon’s treatment back at home. 22 surpassed and I can’t wait to become a regular. I got a gel mani and a regular pedi and not only was the attention to massage and detail perfect, Sylvia had a great eye for color. She made it an art. Thank you Sylvia!

**price gouging** As an active duty service member, I often find it difficult to schedule appointments too far in advance. My Saturday morning attempt at finding a hair Salon with same day openings has left me reeling with buyers remorse. 22 salon was able to get me in almost immediately for a cut and color, the service was great and the staff pleasant. I was thrilled with the color and cut of my hair — until I saw the bill. I was charged 160.00!!! + $ 30 tip(because that’s what we do in America). According to their services menu on their website, I was ripped off like a wedding dress. Consequently, I’ve spent the past 24 hours unhappy with my hair and finding everything wrong with it, simply due the fact that I feel absolutely robbed. There are many other great salons in San Antonio that charge far less than 22 salon and do just as great of a job. I am sick over this.

Great staff, the champagne was perfect, and even when I messed up my shellac mani, Trish fixed it without question or judgment. Super cool inside, watch for their newest location coming soon! Also their hair products…

I am here in town with my husband and another couple and she and I decided to get our nails done. The salon is located across the street from our hotel so we decided to go there. We walked in with no appointment and were seated right away. We paid 45 plus tip for our manicure with shilac Polish. The girl who was doing my nails was very sweet. The uv light machine they used though had some bulbs out so the nails on my right hand never cured. The manager(I’m assuming) was very rude to the girl who was doing my nails as if she had done something wrong. So my manicure ended up taking two hours. Also the place was gross. It was dirty and the furniture wobbly and rickety. All in all it was a poor experience and not near worth the money…

I wish I could rate this as zero stars but that is not possible. I do not know where to begin — I warn you now that this is a long review but there is much to say. The first sign that this experience would not go well was when Kasandra called two days after my friend made the reservation and TOLDHER, not asked, that our reservation be moved to a later time because a party of 10 just made a reservation and they needed to move ours. We rolled with it. All 5 of us arrived on time at 4:30PM. We were told upon our arrival that the party of 10 arrived 45 minutes late so we would have to wait a while. Why did we do this? I’m not entirely sure upon retrospect, but we did. And we waited. And waited. And waited some more. Most of us who had decided to get a manicure and a pedicure decided to have one service, given we had dinner reservations at 7:30PM. In the end, 3 of the 5of us ended up getting pedicures; 2 of us ended up deciding not to get anything done because we could not justify spending a dime in this terribly run salon. I ended up painting my own nails while we waited. I will say that they did one thing right; they offered us plenty of water, mimosas, etc. The place where the pedicures were done was a very strange setup — it looked like it was constructed DIY — not by a professional — out of plywood. Clients have to take a large step up to sit on the bench, which can fit 4 people. Then there are 4 sinks that are built into the first big step. And they are sinks, not jet tubs. No nice jets massaging your feet as you sit in the chair. Which is not a chair, it is a wooden bench. And my poor 5’2′ friend had to spend the next 1+ hours sitting on the edge of the bench so her feet could get into the sink and the tech could reach them. Oh, and a nail tech worked on TWOCLIENTSATTHESAMETIME!!! Back and forth and back and forth. I have never seen anything like it in my life. We left the salon at 7PM. In 2.5 hours, 3 people got 3 really crappy pedicures and paid $ 45 plus tip. The most expensive pedicure they ever had and there was no foot or leg massage. I think the worst part is that there was no apology offered to us at any point during this whole process, nor was there any offer for a reduced price for our tremendous wait and inconvenience. While we made the most out of a bad situation and laughed about it a lot, save yourself the grief and go elsewhere.

Amazing service with friendly staff. I walked in at 5pm on a Friday night and asked for the impossible — give me a silver streak in my jet black hair, wax, and fill on my neglected nails. The team was fantastic and accomplished the impossible. I absolutely love that the nails were done by hand — mostly– the electric Dremel did not touch my nail bed once and the color she applied made my hands look beautiful. I wish I lived in San Antonio because THIS would be my go to place for all services.

A+ for professionalism, atmosphere, friendliness of everyone there and, most importantly, the result. This is THE place to get beautiful in San Antonio. Had color and blowout with Samira and eyelashes and everything is perfect! That never happens.

The shop manager and her crew were spot on and handled this bride and her entourage beautifully. Loved the fact this isn’t grandmas hair salon… the fabulous ladies and gentlemen were young, hip and ready to push the envelope. CHRIS gave me the best up do I’ve ever had. In fact I had more compliments on it, than the dress! Tons of experience, makeup artists with 13 years experience including working at MAC… wish I could have taken some of these fun people home in my purse. Thank you and stay fabulous salon 22!!!

Cannot say enough good things about this salon. On one of the busiest tourist weekends of the year, my boyfriend & I walked in & were greeted by Derek. He managed to move some things around and squeezed both of us in. They offered us champagne, which flowed the entire time we were there! Bria & Sadie gave us the best pedicures we have both had! They were fun and stayed late to accommodate us! 22 is definitely worth the money and we will be back next time we are in San Antonio. If you want to experience true San Antonio hospitality, visit Salon 22. Owner Kasandra has this salon moving in the right direction and I can’t wait to go back!

I had a horrible experience trying to find a nail salon but, I finally found 22 Salon & Spa and they made everything better! I was greeted and helped almost immediately, I got two glasses of wine, and I got my first shellac manicure. It was over all a FANTASTIC experience. I’ll definitely be returning and letting everyone know how great the ladies and 22 Salon & Spa are. THANKYOU!

Terrible manicure!!! I was in desperate need of a manicure at my recent visit to the Riverwalk so I called and made an appointment here and was so very disappointed. First, the other 2 people getting manicures were offered wine or at least water, I was not, not a huge deal but the first bad mark. Second, the girl doing my manicure file the tops of my nails like they were acrylic, and now my nails are super thin, yes the top and buffed them after that. Ugh! Third, she didn’t even cut my cuticles, she had nippers but only pretended to ‘pick’ at a few places(I don’t think she knew how to use them and was afraid she might cut me). Lastly, I got French gel polish and it wasn’t pretty and didn’t even last a week. So my fellow Unilocalers if you are in the area and in need of a manicure this is not the place to go!!!

Worst pedicure of my entire life! I had to share my nail technician with the girl next to me, so she had to switch back and forth between us. It took forever! The technician cut my nails down but didn’t bother shaping them at all. She did use callus remover, but didn’t manage to actually remove any calluses. After that, she did a poor job painting my toenails and I was done. It cost $ 45 and an hour of my time and she didn’t even massage or lotion my feet. I had hoped I was the only of my group to receive this poor service, but my friends who accompanied me to the salon also complained of terrible pedis and manis too. Do not waste your money at this salon!
