My group and I waited in line for over an hour to get into Moose Lounge’s Gay Pride celebration. The bouncer scanned our IDs and told us to pay the $ 10 cover charge just inside the door. We stepped up to the young, rude cashier, who grabbed the $ 20 out of my hand and said«thank you.» I was kind of surprised by her actions and asked her for my change. She responded«Nope it’s $ 20 now.» I was so disgusted that a place like Moose or 180(or whatever the hell they call it) would unjustifiably raise their already-ridiculous cover charges on the LGBT community in which they profess to be supportive of. This is not my first experience with a rude and disrespectful staff at this place — but it was most certainly my last. From now on, I will make sure I let everyone know to keep their money away from this money-grubbing dump that serves watered-down drinks while taking advantage of their patrons. This overrated club continually presents itself as being an ally to the LGBT community — but their actions tonight only proved to me that their true allegiance is dollar signs because they could care less about anything or anyone else. Save your time and money. Take your business to The Trapp — where there’s never a cover and the staff treats you with the utmost respect.

Packed. No parking ever. They have valet but can only valet so many cars. Small bar section. Even with VIP tables, I still felt extremely claustrophobic from how jam pack the place is. Only one bathroom and there is always a line out the door. They need to not continue letting people in when they reach capacity.

This is the worst damn club i have seen. The black guy who is the bouncer s worst racist guy. Funny right. I wasn’t let in because i wear a headband as a part if my religion. The guy who checked my id was fine. I wish i could give you a negative start but one should help you realise that you have wrong people as security

Just my luck to go out for the first time in months and there’s apparently a shooting? I’ve never been here but my friend knows the bartender and got us in free so I decided, what the hell! Why not? I’m already a little buzzed waiting in line and out of nowhere I hear screaming from inside. I’m about 10 feet away so I can’t see exactly who the bouncers are scuffing with but it wasn’t any of my business until I hear someone yell– GUN! He has a gun! Everyone ducked and I still didn’t get the memo until my friend grabbed me and I thought… Why am I on the floor? I need to stop drinking. The bouncers come out and throw this little guy on the curb who couldn’t be more than 5’4 and weigh 100 lbs. You needed 3 bouncers for that? If this guy really had a gun then why did no one call the cops? I’m confused at this point. Anyway we get in and it’s chaos. Why would they let us in if it was so crowded? Does this place not know what maximum capacity is? When I say«shoulder to shoulder» I’m being rather nice. It was more like lips to lips and every time I passed someone we would bump and they would spill their drink on me. Who doesn’t like leaving the club sticky? The people here are. Well to be blunt– trashy. It seemed like everyone here wanted to start a drunken fight with another random person. Baggy pants! Baggy pants everywhere! Belts don’t exist here, neither does class. Every girl gave me a dirty look just for saying hi to their boyfriend. Who I know! Apparently no one can be friends with the opposite sex here without getting offended. I left an hour after my arrival bc things were getting worse and I wasn’t in the mood to hear another gun shot.

I would give the Moose Lounge a solid 3.5. In absence of .5 stars, I decided to round up simply because I feel the reviews it currently has are a bit unfair and it should have a bit of a boost. The vast majority of my club experience has taken place in Stockholm, and I admit, Salt Lake feels like a bit of a duck pond. There aren’t a ton of options and most of them have awful reviews as it is. But I had a blast at The Moose Lounge last night! Their website isn’t particularly helpful, but they are very active on Facebook. I send a FB message asking what genre of music they had and if we could get on the guest list as I was visiting from out of town and we wanted to dance. They answered very quickly and said they play Top 40 and hiphop, and had a live performance that night too. They said they would put me and my friends on the list. Then I got a FB message from another account, a guy named Semisi who is the VIP guest host there. He said to find him that night and he would get me and my friend a drink. The guest list was valid(for free entry) until 10:30pm and we were told it fills up quickly so we should be early. We arrived at 10 and it was dead. There was no line to get in and there was barely anyone there. We hung out for a while sipping drinks and chatting — and I’d say that by 11 people finally started moving onto the dance floor and getting it on. It was definitely a slow start. However, once it filled up and the crowd got going, it was great. It was a fun, positive crowd, people were really friendly and social and mingled with others, not just sticking to their own group. I rejected a guy hardcore, saying I really wasn’t interested(and was just on vacation), and then he still offered to buy me and my friend a drink. Classy, generous people! Semisi was true to his word as well and got us drinks. Good night!(They didn’t have wine though — at all. White wine is my go-to first drink of the evening. Bummer!) The music was catchy — the sort of sing-along type, the stuff you hear on the radio. My only complaint about the music is that they only played like half of each song and then would suddenly transition to another one. The place itself is very very small. At first I thought it was just one room and there would be several others(like a typical Stockholm club). But nope, it’s just the one — it’s no wonder the place fills up quickly; it’s tiny. At some point some guy got taisered and that was weird… but then we all kept on dancing. We both had a blast and when they turned on the lights and turned off the msuic at 1:30am we were all disappointed, we could have kept going for at least another hour! I don’t know what the normal cover charge is(since we were on the guest list) but the coat check was 5 bucks, which I feel is normal. Very friendly staff, friendly people, positive vibe, very danceable music, not too expensive. I had fun and I would probably go back!

I hated this place. I hated the music, the crowd, the heat, and the prices of everything. I’d rather slit my wrists than go here again to be honest.

I’ve been here sporadically throughout the years, typically showing up when a friend is spinning(shout out to DJ Bangarang)! I’ve been on good nights and I’ve been on crappy nights. I feel like ever since the new management took over, you still get some riffraff in here, but it’s definitely cleaned up its clientele since becoming Moose Lounge. Facility itself is ideal. I love clubs that have the era around loft above the dance floor. The vip tables lining the floor and being elevated also give a slight feeling of a club on the coasts. I think the patio should be bigger: it’s always packed. I haven’t drank here, but I’m told by friends that the drinks are pretty solid, and they are people who are a tougher crowd to please when it comes to alcohol. I do know the bartenders are friendly from just being there. The reason for less stars is that I hate places that close a list. If the DJ puts me on the list, I expect that to be honored more than within the first hour of the club being open, but they close their lists early.

We were discriminated against because of the color of our skin. I gave you guys a good review when you first opened up. Now your club has picked up and you want to start treating the people that supported when you had 20 people in attendance like crap. I will never attend this club again. We were told we look too gangster and they didn’t want us to cause any problems which I took offense to. I thought other states dealt with racism but apparently it’s here too and they do it especially at this club(racial profiling). Mind you, we were there for a birthday and never caused any problems at a club in our LIFE. Security guy tried to say we weren’t dressed appropriately but the people inside and out on the balcony had on the same attire the only difference was the color of our skin. I recorded a video that I am giving to a client of mines that works for fox13. How clubs out here racial profile. Talking about they are the hottest club in slc. The hottest racist club. I understand a dress code but make sure the dress code you are enforcing applies to all. Bottom line they don’t have a dress code they have a color code.

As sleazy as it gets… feel like I probably contracted an STD just walking in the door. Crack in the bathrooms… Lasted about 2 minutes. Make sure you have your street talk on when you walk in the door. SLC what happened to classy?

Terrible. I don’t usually give out such low ratings but I wouldn’t go here again! They tried to charge me when it was free entry. I asked about getting a table and was told they were sold out, which they weren’t. We ended up getting a table anyway that was way over priced and had to wait for 20 minutes to get our server to come. In the mean time the staff kicked out my friend who was celebrating a birthday, I had a confetti cannon shot point blank in my face blinding me, and had the police show up hassling everyone for there id’s, apparently they let in lots of minors. This place won’t be in business long.

I’d give this place a 4 on a Saturday when they’ve got DJ Luva Luva in the house, because I love the mix of hip hop, rap &EDM he plays. On a Friday night, Moose Lounge gets a 2 for me. I came here the other day and it was strictly EDM with a trance-like vibe. The place was pretty dead, and the go-go dancers they had only danced for a couple songs and just hung out with their friends. The bathroom was dirty and 3 out of 4 toilets were clogged. For an empty Friday night, you would think that they’d offer specials to lure in more people, get you to drink more, and have fun, but $ 24 for 3 weak and fruity shots was overpriced for me.

DONOTGOHERE! I am 22 but I look like I’m 16 sorry for the good genes. The girls and I, we went here for shots and I literally got half of the shot I should have because their clickers weren’t working properly and I ending up paying 25 dollars for 2 half shots of fire ball. I don’t make a scene so we took those over price shots and walked right out that door. Also the scene is like late twenties, early thirties all trying to dress like they were 21 in outfits that don’t fit. Not the best crowd. 1 star an never going back.

Run, far and fast away from this place. To start, this place is packed full of trashy people trying act like a bunch of ballers. Too many sideways hats and pants that need to be pulled up. You should have a dress code but I doubt anyone would show up if that was the case. The MC and DJ are on the mic every 30 seconds yelling some shit to the crowd. Honestly, STFU and let the music play. You sound like a really bad strip club MJ asking to tip the wait staff every few mins. Way too many lights, the huge LED panel behind the DJ booth looks cool but it projects way too much light onto the dance floor.
