Recently every time I’ve tried to visit my go to Thai restaurant, Siam Orchid, I’ve conveniently forgotten that they close during the late afternoon. Beyond frustrating for me, BUT it led me to Mano Thai Diner. To be frank, I don’t think it could ever eclipse my love for Orchid. However, it is really quite good in its own regard. I’ve been to some quite horrendous Thai restaurants here in Utah and Mano Thai is one that goes beyond that standard of the mundane. They have a good selection of foods, many of which are classic thai favorites and others that are a bit more obscure. But essentially, everything has that standard of freshness that really makes the difference in food like this. The atmosphere in itself is also comfortable, and relaxed. Yet it’s always been clean and well maintained which is also a bonus. There’s very little i would change about this place, and to be honest it’s solidified itself on my thai food circuit. Word to the wise, the spicy meter is no joke. It is incredibly spicy, but if that’s how you like it, you’ve found your niche.

The food didn’t take long to be prepared, and was delicious! I had the drunken noodles with prawns and would definitely have them again! My friend had the yellow curry and said it was great too.

I used to like this place but it keeps going downhill… this is not the first time I had this experience. I ordered the $ 10 full portion papaya salad and I got a portion that was mediocre, it looked like they forgot to finish putting in the rest of my salad, as it is the exact same portion as the half?! :(why did they charge me double for a half portion… Also it is not the most spicy hot like I asked, and I’ve given them many chances. And everytime, it’s not the spiciest level. Seems like the cook is afraid of spice when a Thai restaurant should eat spice like crazy. This will be the last time I’ll come here.

We had the Khao Soi and Thai Phở for the first time here. We’ve tried there papaya salad and garlic stir fry with tofu before. Every time we come here we are never disappointed and have friendly service. There is always leftovers for me which I don’t mind. Will have to try there pad Thai next time.

Mmmmm delicious spicy Thai. Great flavor in the pad ga prow, with plenty of basil. Got it «hot» but not Thai hot, which was perfect to get a sweat on but not punishing. However I did just wake up at 5 am needing to unload the spice bomb. Luckily I have burned all heat receptors off the exit years ago. Also got a nice IPA with lunch, but it was overpriced as beers tend to be in Utah.

Ordered pot stickers, Som Tum, Thai noodle Soup(Chicken) and pad gra prow with a fried egg. First of all read my previously reviewed Thai restaurants. My wife is Thai and I have lived in Thailand for many years. Until eating here I had not had any decent Thai food ANYWHERE in Utah. By far and away this is the best Thai food I have had in my 10 plus years in Utah. A true gem. Don’t pass this place up. Very authentic Thai food and not dumbed down to the bland palate of the typical Utah dining establishment. Flavorful and the flavor intensity one would expect in what is the journey of sweet, sour, bitter, spicy and other adventures in the mouth one is accustomed to from eating Bangkok street food.

Great Thai place. I had the lunch special with chicken panang and beef broccoli. Both were excellent. Clean and themed environment. Was not busy when I was there. Waitress was upbeat and friendly. Will definitely return.

The Thai food here is great. The pad thai and duck noodle soup are my favorite there. The portions there are always more than i can eat. All and all great place for some good thai food.

I love Mano Thai. My ex-girlfriend and I would come here all the time and always enjoyed it. I work very close on Main Street, and their lunch deal is one of the best around. Some of my favorite dishes are the Panang curry, drunken noodles, curry puff appetizer, and thai basil beef. All though everything I have tried here is good, never been disappointed. The coconut soup is outstanding and one of the best meals around on a cold snowy day or rainy day. Or any day for that matter… It’s just good. Always good service, I order medium heat and have had it light me up before(which is a good thing) and sometimes it’s just regular medium. Either way, always a good spice level. Overall the prices are decent, food is tasty, portions are large, interior is clean, and lunch deal is awesome. Great restaurant that I will keep giving my business to.

My Thai wife and I stopped in for dinner during our recent trip to Salt Lake. We were so impressed With the quality, quantity, and authenticity of the food I felt obligated to write my first Unilocal review! We’ve eaten Thai food before in Salt Lake but it wasn’t nearly as good. They also have dishes found in Northern Thailand that we haven’t seen in any other Thai restaurant(ex. Kow soi, excellent and highly recommended!). The interior is room and perfectly decorated in traditional Thai style. The wait staff is very courteous, attentive, and very friendly. This has definitely become our go to Thai restaurant while in town! Go check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

We have been coming here since it first opened as Bön Api Thai. This place is consistently great. The food is always very fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My favorite Thai place in Salt Lake by far.

Came here on a snowy December night and it warmed me right up. The staff was beyond friendly and I went with a friend who is fluent in Thai, so that was a bonus(but not necessary). We shared the massaman curry and some type of stir fry. Both delish. Reasonable prices, if you’re in the mood for some yummy Thai, look no further.

Not sure what to say. The food is pretty good. I have ordered here several times. What kind of ruins the experience is the owner. Not sure if she has an issue with me but she is rude. She needs to realize that the customers are bringing in her money. Will write more later but wanted to get this out for now. Make sure you clarify what you order so there are no problems when you go to pick it up. If you are going to offer a discount don’t act like it is something you don’t want to offer. I thought I would try your restaurant again while I am watching my friends house but not sure if it was the best idea.

I came here for my lunch, a pick up order. They had every time by the time I got there. Which was nice, How fast they were but the reason I gave them a low rating was due to the fact that the food was extremely bland. If I didn’t order mild spice I don’t think it would any flavor to it. I picked the red curry but I didn’t find any zucchini. Yeah you get a lot of food for the price but it’s not worth it if doesn’t taste great. I might come back to try the pad Thai since I hear that’s what I should have ordered instead. So maybe they will redeem themselves.

This is always a treat. They have an extensive menu– lots of choices from noodle dishes, delicious stir fries, and well balanced curries. Everything is fresh and fast. As a bonus, the desserts are yummy as well. Plus I adore our waitress.

This is probably one of the best pad Thai noodles I had in Utah. Best part was it was 50%. Portions are huge too! Service was friendly. I will definitely come back!

I’m a first-time diner at this restaurant. I ordered Pad Thai and Papaya Salad to go, via Eat24(more about that service later). The Pad Thai noodles are fresh, soft, and delicious. There is nothing different or unusual about it but I had a craving for Pad Thai and Mano’s hit the spot. The papaya salad is delicious and colorful. Shredded papaya soaked in lime juice with chile, accompanied by cut green beans, grape tomatoes, Romaine lettuce, and sticky rice. The salad was very tasty. About Eat24: They screwed up my order and only sent half of it to the restaurant. When I got there, only the pad thai was ready and paid for. The owner received the order for the papaya salad a few minutes later and it wasn’t marked as paid. I had to show her my email receipt. We agreed that in the future I should call the restaurant directly to place my «to go» order. And guess what? Eat24 adds at least a dollar to every dish when they present the menu via Unilocal. From now on, I’m going to order directly from the restaurant.

Was just driving by and got a craving for Thai. Drunken noodle and yellow curry both very good. Loved the beef salad. Glad I found this place. Will definitely come back to try more dishes. Cute lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful.

I tried the two item lunch combo as a take out. I ordered the red curry and the Pad Kra Praw(Stir fried chicken with chilies and Thai basil). You get your choice of white rice, brown rice or noodles served with the combo, all for $ 8. I ordered the combo with noodles because I wanted to try them but the rice would have gone better with my meal. The noodles turned out to be a Pad Thai(or something very similar), which was quite the nice surprise and was quite good(just not the best thing to pair with my combo choices). The curry had a nice background heat to it and was loaded with chicken(you can get tofu) and veggies. They add cabbage to the curry in addition to red and green peppers, bamboo shoots, and peas. The cabbage was different than other places I have tried but I actually really liked it. The Pad Kra Praw was also tasty with chopped up chicken(you can also order tofu), veggies, and tasty sauce. My lunch combo was ready in just a few minutes(under 5) and was nicely packed as a to-go meal complete with plastic utensils and a napkin– which was great because I was planning on a picnic in a nearby park and I did not bring any of those things with me(which only occurred to me after I placed my order). This place also has a drive through and considering how quickly the food was assembled this seems to be a good option for takeout.

I come here for lunch often and price is really good for how much food you get. Their customer service is superb! The thai food itself is pretty good too. I highly recommend the yellow curry and drunken noodles.

Above average Thai food, friendly staff, authentic menu. Reasonable prices. Me and my wife stopped in for lunch and were impressed by the food. We ordered Thai Basil and pad Thai. The lunch portion size was large and would compare to a dinner portion at most places. The place does not look like much on the outside but is clean and authentic on the inside. The service was great! I’m sure I’ll return in the future

Went here because I’ve been craving for chicken laab like crazy and needed to find a place that would be my go-to place. Their laab was way too sweet and the fish sauce was very pungent. I couldn’t eat more than one bite because I would have gotten a tummy ache. Luckily, I did order their spring rolls, which were good despite their frugal use of shrimp. I liked the peanut sauce that came with it but not the other sauce(which was garlicky and sweet). I also ordered the pad thai, which was ok except, again, it was much too sweet. The tom kha gai was a little sweeter than I’m used to but I was able to balance the flavors out with some hot chilli oil. I really want to like this place but at this moment, my priority is finding the best laab. So it’s on to the next!

Eaten at this before and after the name change. The middle section has been revamped a bit to be slightly more private and cozy, which is a good change. Food is still very middle-of-the-road Americanized Thai. They do a very decent job with it, if that’s your thing, but I found the flavors to be overall very muted, which was as much as shame as the time before. Menus have also been re-done and frankly look just awesome, so kudos there. Service was also as good as the time before. Very solid for what it was, but not much beyond competent.

Mad props Bön Appe-Thai! Mad props. I have bellied up to the table a few times here, I have yet to be disappointed. My latest trip to Bön Appe-Thai marked my first experience with phở. There I admit it, I am late to the phở party. I will declare now that I am a phở fan(do not even think that my fingers automatically typed phở phan but I changed that in edit.) This restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. Short review of that, but the service is not what makes Bön Appe-Thai a great place for lunch. The food is just tasty. The food is just tasty. I have had the lunch plate which is so very reasonably priced. $ 7 for a combination plate of 2 options from curry to barbecue and pad options. I am a fan of their chicken barbecue and panang curry. I do nto think one can go wrong with the masaman curry or pad thai. All tasty options. This last visit, like aforementioned, saw me trying the beef phở. The broth had so much flavor without dressing it up that I almost just ate it naked. But they serve it with so many fun options to dress it up and make it feel pretty that I did play with the various options. The noodles were spot on! They make it mild but you can add spice to it. As I am not a fan of spicy foods I was grateful that it was more mild. My very handsome dining companion had the kow soi which he let me try and I am a fan. I cannot wait to go back and selfishly have a full bowl all to myself. My interest in the description of the drunken noodles will also take me back. I like this place because it is convenient to my office and the food is just tasty.
