KFC Buffet?! = Yay! KFC Buffet FOOD = what the hay?! Here’s how you do it: walk in, pay for the adult(or kid) buffet plan, claim your seat, then get up and go to the corner for some buffet looking setup with KFC food in it. Like I said, food is meh(soggy fried skin on the chicken, stale or plain tasting vegetables, artificial/chemical tasting apple pie, and firm/tough mashed potatoes), slow refill time on food, and no waiter service. . anywho, still nice to say I’ve been to the world’s first KFC, and ate at their buffet. :)

I loved this place! Everything was great! But I mostly want to do a review because the service was awesome. The front cashier named Johnny was so nice. He was generous when we paid & when something ran out, he would fill it up every time we asked. He wasn’t rude in any kind of way but had a smile on his face the whole time. My whole family was impressed by his service. Great food & great service. We told him many times thank you, but thought we’d come & leave a review so thank you Johnny for being so awesome! :)

Normally I wouldn’t really rate a fast-food place, but this particular location is special; this is a KFC Freaking Buffet! The only thing I like more than KFC’s mashed potatoes is UNLIMITEDKFC mashed potatoes.

Buffet out of chicken! Was told two separate times the wings I requested would be up shortly. 46 minutes after paying for my buffet I walked out still hungry! Asked for refund and was denied. Manager on duty did nothing to remedy the problem! It’s no wonder Yum brands has been struggling this last year!!!

First KFC franchised location in the world… and one of the worst, slowest, dirtiest locations too. I agree with what others have said about the decline since the management change, although it wasn’t anything to write home about before. I hoped to pop in and grab a quick bite… I ordered 12 minutes ago and I’m still waiting. When will I learn?

You can experience the history of KFC by looking at the bottom of the tables or chair. It is dirty, dirty dirty and did I mention dirty. I don’t know how I ate here knowing how dirty my surrounding were. Do not come here, unless you are into archaeology of dirt.

I know it’s fast food but don’t go here. Just don’t go here. Service is awful everything is broken like their fountain carbonation for drink didn’t work when I was there. Everyone was mad. Then after waiting 20. I asked where my orders were. They said I have to wait another 20 min for the pot pie. They couldn’t find my receipt so the guy thought I was lying. I had to pull up the pending charges on my phone when it was their fault they lost the receipt. I had to wait another 10 for them to look through their stack of their credit card receipt because the guy thought I was lying. They had to do this again after do another 10 min because I added on a side order after. That means he rang it me up twice. The guy refunded my pot pie but not the side order. He even hinted a comment that it was my fault I told him I order chicken pot pie and I didn’t tell him I ordered pot pie with out drinks that’s why he couldn’t find the right receipt. Anyways this took 50 min of my time and I had an hour lunch break from class at u of u murray campus. Very unhappy. I’ve only been to popeye once. Service was excellent. And the food was decent. This experience ruined my trust in the whole kfc food chain. I think I remember why I haven’t been there in years. I’m scared to go to any kfc again. What’s awful is that this place was suppose to be the first kfc restaurant and I have KFC in the middle of nowhere treat me better. I hate that I can’t give zero star. At the end of all of this I didn’t get one sincere«sorry»

My friends and I come here because this is the FIRSTKENTUCKYFRIEDCHICKENINTHEWORLD!!! Most important thing is they have BUFFET and it’s really CHEAP! How wonderful thing for 5 young people who are in Road Trip and very hungry. Beside food, we also can realize the history of KFC. I think It’s really worth it to come here!!!

I’ve noticed since the change in management that this location has seriously suffered in quality. Seems like the new management is more interested in hanging out in the office, and working the drive thru when not sitting in the office. A true disappointment and shame indeed, the buffet has suffered in quality as well and it’s the only one in SLC with a buffet, not to mention the worlds first location and what I would hope to be a flagship store. But seriously KFC! What’s going on? It’s only going downhill as of late and with Popeyes moving and expanding in the area it’s time to wake up and clean up your act, and act like you want it. I hate this location where a year ago it was great! I’d give zero stars if that were an option. I was in there today thinking if have lunch. The manager was in the office while 2 people struggled with the line of people in the lobby, the whole time I was waiting to order I could plainly see 2 employees sitting on counters near the drive thru one of which was eating. Totally against health code(I know from working in the industry) this is simply unacceptable and when I told the smart ass girl behind the register why I didn’t want to eat there today, she shrugged it off as if she didn’t care. SADSADSAD. My advice, stay away. If you have bad experiences like I have… Call corporate and let them know. I used to love KFC and this location was a long time fav. But no more… :-(

Seriously? Why does KFC serve WAY better food in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in terms of quality and taste. I’m talking it’s healthy in other parts of the world. It’s a shame since this is the first KFC ever!

Out of all the KFC’s this one is my favorite location, they have a buffet with a lot of good food, and the best part is you can eat as much as you want.

$ 2.99 for 2 pieces(leg & thigh), biscuit, mashed potatoes & gravy, and corn on the cob can’t be beat, so that’s lunch or dinner for us every Wednesday! We drive a little further to go to this KFC because the Taylorsville location screws up. Every. Single. Time :P also love their buffet here, and happy employees!

I paid $ 40 for my family to enjoy KFC’s «all you can eat» buffet, and I seriously regret it. They were completely out of several items the entire time we were there(close to an hour). Other items had clearly been sitting out for hours. The food was lukewarm and overly greasy. The restaurant set-up is ridiculous! They keep the plates, napkins, forks, etc. clear on the other side of the restaurant. Why wouldn’t they have plates near the buffet? Do NOT waste your money on the buffet… we could have bought one of their dinner deals for much cheaper and received way more food, and it would have been fresh!

The whole world comes to this buffet being the first KFC… management you better check your business. Got a lot of young workers that need a lot of training. Dirty floors flooded bathroom, etc. I have been in KFC’s in the worst parts of China that had spotless bathrooms even tho you had to squat. I will still come back cause I’m a regular but I hope to see better in the future.

Great KFC history here with a killer buffet. Worth the 9 bucks for an all u can eat especially now that prices have gone up. The people watching here is pretty awesome too. Place is usually clean because you have an annoying worker always sweeping around your feet, wtf? Time and place to clean people!

It is a little known fact(to people outside of Utah) that the nation’s first Kentucky Fried Chicken is located in Salt Lake City. I grew up in Salt Lake, and this place was a fixture of State Street. Proudly displayed on the front of the restaurant was«America’s first KFC». I visited there while I was at home this weekend, and I was actually really excited. A few years ago, they tore down the original building(sadly) and put up a brand new restaurant. Inside there are several«artifacts» of the original restaurant, including a pressure cooker, and one of the Colonel’s original suits. It was awesome. I walked away with two $ 10 t-shirts, and an order of some of KFC’s cornbread. So, if you see a random Filipino guy wearing a «Harman’s Café» t-shirt, well, you know where he got it, and no, I ain’t gonna give it up cause it’s finger lickin’ good! Check out the pics that I posted of this«historic» site!

There are times– and you may well be wise to keep them secret among only your most trustworthy friends– when you may crave an all-you-can-eat buffet full of fried-chicken, flaky-biscuits, and other side-dishes for about $ 8. If so, you will be happy here. [Four stars only if you come here during those times.]
