City Sights – Salt Lake City Tours

I was picked up right on time at the Sheraton, and was unsure how well this was going to go since my train had gotten in at 3am, and I was very tired. Much to my surprise, the tour was very interesting (and humorous at times) and had many opportunities for us to get off the bus to take pictures or quickly stretch our legs. My tour guide, Chris, was very funny and chock-​full of interesting facts about each of the locations we drove by. He had every ideal photo opportunity down pat, so don’t forgot to bring a camera or else you’ll miss out. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who would like to learn about SLC!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour! Our bus driver/​tour guide, Chris, was outstanding. He was funny and informative. I would definitely recommend taking the tour that includes the Tabernacle Choir. They were awesome! We rate this tour an A+!

Chris showed up right on time to pick me up at my hotel. Very nice and very good as a tour guide! He really knew his stuff. I highly recommend it.

We went on a tour to Park City and Olympic park during our short trip to SLC. Our guide Mr. Clark was very nice and knowledgable. We all enjoyed this very educational and beautiful tour up into the mountain to enjoy the beautiful view. It was a good thing we went on this tour on a Sunday, as it allowed us to experience the Park City farmers’ market and the jumps at Olympic park :) well worth the money.

The tour guide picked us up right on-​time at our hotel (Raddison). at 8:45 am. Just one more hotel pickup and we were on our way. The tour, including lunch at the Lion House, ended about 1:15 pm.
The tour guide, Glen, was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and proud of his city. The tour included the State Capital, Pioneer Village, downtown, Olympic Village, plus much more. The tour bus had very large windows and getting on and off was a breeze.
The organ recital at the Mormon Tabernacle was fantastic.
Be sure to bring your camera!

Just had the tour this morning to afternoon and it was extremely helpful in getting a crash course on what’s going in SLC. Glenn was our guide and he did a teriffic job explaining and pointing out things and telling interesting stories. He made it fun because it was interactive and not totally «scripted». I would highly recommend this tour group for being on-​time and giving first-​timers like me a pretty in-​depth overview of the city.

My wife and I did the Salt Lake Tour with Mike on a Saturday. Mike was extremely knowledgable and very informative. The tour showed us everything we wanted to see and Mike gave us detailed information about each location. We highly recommend City Sights tours to everyone.

We went the Monday before Thanksgiving on a SLC downtown tour and it was awesome. Glenn was not only knowledgable, but very kind and patient (esp with our son asking sooo many questions). We thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. Highlights were Heritage Park, lunch, the Tabernacle and the Capitol building.
If you are visiting SLC and want a perfect overview of the city, the history and where to eat and shop — this is really worth every penny!

There’s a surprising amount of things to do and places to go in Salt Lake City. You can see an organ recital at the Mormon Tabernacle, kick around Temple Square or Heritage Park, swing through the University of Utah, check out the genealogy library, hit up the Lion House for lunch or study the maps of Deseret at the Beehive House, walk along the Pony Express route, visit the Utah state capitol, see the remnants of the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002 and discover why there aren’t more, examine a century and a half’s worth of architecture, gaze upon seventy five miles of the second saltiest lake on the planet stretched before the largest copper mine in the US (or world, I’m too lazy to look it up), check out the city’s mostly free transportation system, or stroll through any number of flower gardens.
Or you can book something with Salt Lake City Tours and do all of that, procuring and eating Mormon Pot Pie* at Brigham Young’s house in the process. I suggest the latter.
The five and a half hour tour, led in my case by the terrific guide Glenn, provides a thorough look into the local flavor and history of this very dense city. Part walking, mostly driving**, with frequent stops and photo opportunities, one gets a definite feel for the history of SLC and more than a little trivia; leaving this tour, I very much feel like I could easily run a Salt Lake category on Jeopardy! A definite highlight is the famous residents portion of the tour, which I grudgingly shan’t spoil at this point.
