Yummy Italian goodness. Get the cheese tortellini with white sauce! Perfect place for a date not too expensive, decent portion and right across from the Leonardo Museum.

We had a reservation for Valentine’s day. We showed up on time, and were waiting for the hostess for at least 10 minutes to show up. You could tell from the start that they were either understaffed or not organized. We were seated right next to the entrance, which was the only available table other than the basement(no big deal, but relevant). A bit of time passed and our server came to take our drink order. After about 20 minutes and no drink and no sight of our server, we got the attention of the hostess who was standing just across from us and asked her to follow up on our drinks because it had been about 20 minutes. A few minutes later the HOSTESS comes back out with our drinks and with a print out from their system to show me that it «had only been 11 minutes since the order was put in the system». We eventually just asked for our food to go, because by the time we placed our order we had been seated for almost 40 minutes. Pasta was decent but the Pizza was what you would expect from the frozen section of a supermarket. Ugh

One star because the service was wonderful. But the food, mediocre. Ordered the soup of the day, butternut squash. Soup was overwhelmed by nutmeg. Then the«lasagna» served over a red and yellow pepper purée. Really? It was cold, sent it back to reheat but it was tasteless just awful. This restaurant has been around for years, they need a new chef.

Tasty red sauce. Had the chicken parmigiana. Not overcooked. Spaghetti was just the right amount.

Outstanding meat lasagna! Server told us the restaurant has been opened for over 35 yrs with same owner. Do yourself a favor and dine here!

$ 22 for a little bowl of shrimp scampi gnocchi. Server didn’t give us much attention. Not happy at all. First dish was wrong. Second dish was spicy with no shrimp. Finally they brought it right and the serving size was tiny. Not coming back.

Had lunch here with my friend and everything was great – the food, service, ambience, parking, comfy booths, warm air, pacing of the meal, etc. I ordered minestrone soup and she had their house salad with garbanzo and kidney beans, shredded mozzarella cheese, beets, peppers and dressing. Both were delicious. We split their traditional lasagna and got free chocolate cherry gelato for checking in on Unilocal!Next time I’ll try their pistachio gelato but will probably order everything the same.

*This restaurant deserves 3.5 stars* I went here with a larger party and the service was still great! I also think the restaurant itself is very beautiful. I love that this restaurant supports local, sustainable, and organic practices! My husband and I had the bruschetta(very good), vegetable soup(good but nothing special), soup of the day-potato, arugula, artichoke blend(very good), chopped salad substituting meats and cheese for more vegetables(good but nothing special), cheese tortellini with chicken and vodka cream sauce(very good), chocolate beet cake(ok-too rich for my liking), and gelato trio-vanilla, lemon, and pistachio(lemon was fabulous, the others I can do without). We definitely enjoyed our meal here and I recommend it, but at the same time I wasn’t blown away.

Canella’s looks like a small little restaurant from the outside. But once you walk in, there is another side as well as outside patio. I’ve been here a few times, and the food is always amazing! My favorite is the chicken Marsala pared with the Bibi red wine!!! THISISMYNEWFAVORITEITALIANRESTAURANT!

This is ok italian food, but not great. My group ordered the Gnocci, meat lasagna, and traditional lasagna. They were presented attractively and were generously sized, but not remarkable and something I could duplicate at home. The best part of the meal was the chocolate beet cake. If I ever go back I’ll order the cake and a glass of wine!

So it wasn’t the best Dine O’Round experience ever when I just visited here. Me and my friend ordered the Dine O’Round, and the they just completely skipped the first course of Bruschetta. We never ended up getting it, so that wasn’t a good start. For our second course(well actually our first), he had a salad, I had a cream of cauliflower soup, both seemed ok, nothing to write home about. For the main entrée, I went with the 3 cheese ravioli and sausage, which was decent but did come out not very hot. I’d say it was deserving of 3 stars in itself. Just as we were getting done with that, a pregnant woman slipped and fell to the floor on water on the floor right in front of us, which was quite concerning. There didn’t seem to be a whole lot done to go out of their way to apologize or make sure that such a potentially problematic situation was properly handled, other than asking if she was ok. That put another bad taste in my mouth. What it did have going for it was nice décor. All in all, I’d recommend spending your Dine O’round dollars elsewhere… Taco Taco is right next door.

Wow, stumbled across this place going to the library and ended up having one of the best meals I can recall ever eating. Granted I hadn’t eaten all day… but damn Dine o’round set up a fixed price of $ 15 for 4 course meal. Fresh and amazing. Make sure you eat here if you are in town, I’m sure the locals already know about it!

The Italian Salad is fantastic. Pastas and garlic bread are very good. My dining companion loved her turkey club. I appreciated that there was a vegetable soup offered that was very similar to minestrone but without the pasta. Check in on Unilocal and enjoy a scoop of gelato– the pistachio was delicious. There is mint in the iced tea! I love iced tea. The recent updates to the overall layout really improve the ambiance.

Salt Lake City, UT: I really wanted to like this place and blame this lower star review on the meal I ordered. I got the Thursday special — pasta salad with your choice of soup or salad. I chose the minestrone and it was amazing. My pasta salad… not so much. It was utterly bland and lacked the flavor pasta salads normally have. I asked our waitress for a side of Italian dressing thinking that would combat the blandness. Unfortunately, it made little difference: I apparently just lucked out with eating the blandest pasta salad ever. At about ten dollars a meal, I find that to be unacceptable. Despite my pasta salad experience, I’ll give kudos to this restaurant for excellent service, a thumbs up for the free gelato with a check in, and finally, five stars for the minestrone. Do try this place… just avoid the pasta salad.

Went here because the first place we wanted to go to was closed due to a remodel. This was nearby so we decided to give it a try. I got bruschetta which was pretty good, also got the pesto three cheese tortellini and was very disappointed. I had very high hopes but it was so bland I had to add salt and pepper to give it some excitement. The garlic bread that comes with the dishes was good! I also liked the Cesar salad. Tried the Italian Sausage pizza and it tasted like a microwavable pizza from the grocery store. I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.

Stopped in for dessert and enjoyed it! The ambiance was quiet and felt like something I could find in NYC. We had the dessert Pizza(raspberry, mascarpone, chocolate drizzle) which was good but needed a deeper flavor(dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg). Perfect portion for 4 – 6 people Also had the cannoli(4) which was stuffed. with the perfect hints of cherry and orange fillings. Wait staff was über friendly and easy to talk and joke around with. Based on this quick visit, I plan to come back to try their Italian entrees.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a person who raved about their amazing sausage salad. I’m not sure if I went there on an off day, but everything was just meh. The salad was good, but not amazing. The service was good, but not great. Nor really much to say about my experience. Seems like an okay place with food on par with most chain restaurants. Which isn’t necessarily bad.

Tried to go for lunch but the bigger part of the dining area was closed and I didn’t feel like stuffing my stroller and myself in a booth next to the dark bar area. And why does it smell like cigarette smoke. It seems more like a bar. /meh pass
