This place is shuttered, as others have mentioned, and this review may or may not be accurate elsewhere. To be frank, this place was underwhelming from the jump. They spent a lot of money on glitz, the fancy neon signage, the zillions of tvs, the booths, the interior, then hired relatively competent wait staff and cooks that honestly should not have been around pizza ovens. I think that, more than any other reason, is why the place was so consistently empty. Everything I had here was substandard, all the way to their«hot» calzone to the pizza to everything else. We tried to support it, because it was local, but our last visit was prior to us leaving on vacation last year and it’s really hard to keep shelling out that kind of money when competition is so fierce and they did such an inferior job. Where the rubber meets the road always is and must be the food and their food frankly never really rose above average. I admired them for standing in the snow and rain with their bites of garlic bread over at the Smith’s and took advantage of a few coupons, but after the fourth and final visit, I just couldn’t do it anymore. Too many better businesses work too much harder and deserve that dining-out dollar. I’m sad to say it because I never want to wish anyone out of a job, but this place was ultimately unnecessary and it went the way it should have.

This place has closed it’s doors. Looks like you’ll have to go stuff yer face somewhere else. Sugarhouse BBQ is right by this place, they make GREAT Jambalaya — and it’ll satisfy ya.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. This place has. the worst service and the most overpriced pizza. I have paid less for pizza in L.A. I would much prefer to go and eat at little Caesars pizza. Do yourself a favor and don’t go here.

Admittedly, the pasta was the first and last thing I’ve tried here so far. But once you put a bite in your mouth – you’d understand. The Mac and Cheese is divine. My only complaint is that we went there during a Jazz home game vs. the Clippers, yet a football game was the audio played over the sound system. I feel that maybe if they took into account the fact that we have a professional NBA team in the town that Boardwalk operates in and played those games as the primary event, locals would appreciate this restaurant much more. Also, why is it so empty? It’s built and staffed for a much larger crowd than I’ve ever experienced while dining here. But seriously! I don’t GAF if ONE table is watching a random football game. When the Jazz are playing, you f**king REPRESENT and SUPPORT! Update: These guys also don’t have coffee or soup… No soup – I can forgive. But no coffee? How can you tout yourself as offering a full bar without coffee?

Okay so I’ll tell you what the luring advertisement on the corner of 21st and 9th doesn’t. What you’ll get with the«all you can eat pizza» lunch special is one slightly burnt, redundantly reoccurring pie that consists of 4 or 5 different types of pizza. They do not change it up, and they do not take request. So what you’ll get is pepperoni, sausage, Hawaiian(too sweet), chicken and onion with BBQ sauce(too sweet), and chicken with carrots(taste as weird as it sounds). And like a lot of others are saying the service is very awkward and unwelcoming. Despite being very unimpressed I really can’t go lower than 3 stars because it’s only $ 6.50 which comes with a starter salad. For a severely intoxicated person this would be the dream meal. But with a sober pallet I won’t be back. I would possible frequent this place if they bumped the price up to $ 8.50, took request on which pies to put out, learned to like their customers, and figured out how to stop burning the crust.

Tried many of the pizza options here, and have yet to encounter one we didn’t like. The cheesy breadsticks are worth the price too. Great beer prices and a full bar. Definitely great for a big group, or for a small group with flat screens in each booth.

Excellent pizza and an outstanding house salad. Speaking as the former GM of two pizza places, the pies are great. Artisan pizza baked on a hearthstone. Expect everything from pepperoni to sausage jalapeño to alfredo with red peppers. Fresh cut ingredients and a perfectly stretched crust. I enjoyed my salad as much as my pizza. A feast of greens with onions, olives tomatoes and fresh shredded parmesan made the ideal italian salad to compliment my meal. The atmosphere is sports bar(with individual TVs at booths to compliment the large arrays around the house) meets modern italian restaurant. The music is well curated focusing mostly on alternative rock and is never obnoxious. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Boardwalk is open for dinner and lunch. Lunch, by the way, is a great time to visit for an all you can eat pizza w/side salad special(under $ 7)

They really need to do something about their service. We were there on Tuesday night, the restaurant was empty(literally), and we ended up waiting for more than 30 minutes to get our pizza. That is just ridiculous. Food was ok, but definitely not worth waiting for more than half an hour.

FOOD: Ok… not great, not horrible. AMBIANCE: They’re on the right track but not quite there. Despite the music, TVs, and pool table the feeling is «empty» and boring. SERVICE: This is the restaurant’s greatest weakness. Both lunch experiences were frustrating. The food comes out slow, the table service is severely lacking, and payment process is awkward. OVERALLVALUE: Definitely overpriced. The food quality, food portions, and service are more in line with a place charging 20−40% less.

I was very excited to try this place since their menu had looked awesome online. However the experience was over all lacking. The pizza was OK. Nothing to write home about. For the price, or for even less, there’s a lot of good pie places in Salt Lake. If I’m paying $ 23 for a pizza, I’d like to feel it was something worth my while. Our wait staff seemed… under the influence of something. He really didn’t seem to into his job. My boyfriend and I were kind of off put by the lack of attention, and the lack luster attitude over all. Then someone random guy came up who asked us how it was going and did we enjoy the pizza. We’re guessing it was the owner, but it was just so out of no where. It would have been nice if he had introduced himself, since for all we knew he could have been some guy wandering around being strange. Didn’t tip. Won’t be going back.

Was really excited to try this place. Good location, nice sports décor with lots of TVs. Several of us tried it out for the first time. We went for the lunch buffet. Bottom line, the service was extremely SLOW! We ordered drinks and out salads, but that’s all we had for the first 30 minutes. No pizza was available at the buffet. When pizza finally was available it was only 1 pizza. There were several tables eating the buffet so the single pizza went fast. We were there over an hour and only 3 pizzas were served. Finally, we had to leave to get back to work. The whole idea of a buffet is to allow people to have a quick lunch and get back to work. Boardwalk Pizza didn’t meet that expectation. Truth is, what little pizza we tried, was really good. Just not sure it’s worth the poor service and long wait. May or may not be worth going back.

Thanks to Justin the GM, the visit was definitely pleasant. I bought a Big Deal Utah $ 5 off several weeks ago for Boardwalk as I am always ready to try a new place, especially if it’s close to home. So, I called in a Chicken Alfredo Pizza add fresh tomatoes to be picked up. Unfortunately, I knew something was going down as soon as I told them I had a pick-up when I arrived– lots of confused faces! Apparently the computer system didn’t send the order to the kitchen. I asked the wait time and was fairly annoyed because the reason I did take out was because I wanted to be home, not at a restaurant. Justin came to the rescue and quickly saved the sale as I was more inclined at that point to get a Hot n Ready and get back to the cold cocktail waiting for me. He instead offered a free soda while I waited– cold soda/cocktail waiting at home? He quickly realized what I was prompting him for and he brought out an ice cold adult beverage on the house… Prove it DABC. Prove it! Got the pizza home and the flavor was awesome. I am however not a fan of the crust-too yeasty(read:chewy). My jaw hurt when I was only half way through my second piece, yet I still continued eating because it was quite tasty. I will probably be back due to the atmosphere. Can you say shuffle board?

We saw this place opening in Sugarhouse and our interest was piqued, but for many weeks we didn’t go try it out, until the beloved Groupon deal came up for it. I love their sign, it’s what caught my eye the first time we drove by. Inside is spacious and the centerpiece of the room is the pizza oven. We came late-ish(I love that they are open late — a rare find around here) and were pretty much the only people in the joint. We opted for a booth because they have their own TVs and watched a Jazz game. I need to put a disclaimer up here: I don’t love pizza and I am not a meat-eater. We opted to share a big pie, and we got half margherita and half something with animal flesh. My half was tasty. The pizza crust is a little on the too-floppy side but the sauce is zesty and delicious. Service was just fine. Our server was pleasant and checked on us just enough times without bugging. I agree, a little on the slow side but nothing horrendous. We will definitely visit again because they are open late, have TVs and kids eat free Mon-Thurs.

This is a little known pizza place right around the corner from my house and I couldn’t be happier. My fiancée have been three times since moving into the area and we love this place. The staff is very friendly and the pizza is awesome! We also love that they have a shuffleboard table in the back. We stayed for an extra two hours the first time we went. TVs everywhere so we will definitely be there on game days.

The food was decent, but nothing to get too excited about. The service was slow and unfriendly. Maybe they’ll get the kinks ironed out after they’ve been open a little longer. The atmosphere was strange and I was pretty annoyed that every single television, including the one right at our booth was randomly turned to dirt bike racing and there was nothing I could do to change it, especially since our server was barely existent.

What a fun find. It is sorta sports bar-ish, with lots of open space, a very inviting atmosphere. And the food was tasty. We tried the mini-wheat calzones. They were very tasty and cheesy, and not at all mini. I am not sure I believe the menu’s calorie count. The wings were good too. They also have a decent wine and beer selection. My only complaint is if you get the 11 inch pizza the wheat crust costs $ 2.19 extra. Not sure why this is. Also the music volume was not consistent went from a nice background to pretty loud depending on what song. It’s new so maybe they are still working on the sound system.

This is a new addition to Sugarhouse and I think I’m a fan. I have dined there twice since it opened — lunch and dinner. Two different experiences from a service perspective but the pizza was creative, well prepared, and tastes awesome! The space is huge — lots of TV’s, variety of benches/tables/bars/couches, and I was told they will have a pool table and other games soon. The staff is very friendly and the owner even took some time to talk with our group. I think the team is still learning the ropes since it is a new restaurant but I like the team members they have — very friendly and outgoing but they need to become more consistent in their service delivery. On to the food! We had an all meat pizza and a Thai pizza on separate occasions. Very yummy. Don’t miss out on the bruschetta as an appetizer. The food is well prepared, doesn’t skimp on the ingredients, and seems to be very high quality. I think it is a great value for what you get. There is a full bar(albeit behind the zion curtain) so that’s nice too. I hope this place survives and thrives.

Don’t bother, this is a downgrade of the pizza you’ll get at the bowling alley for much more money. Went on the second night they opened, eager to try a new place. Ordered red zinfandel and they brought white. Once they brought us back the correct wine(who drinks white zinfandel, anyway… and with pizza?!) on the second try, well, that was good. To be fair, the cheese bread was tasty. And sadly, that’s where the compliments end. Ordered the Surfin’ pizza(meat and veg) and, although the cheese and pepperoni were cooked, all the veg placed on top were raw. I hope you don’t order this pizza early on in your dating life, because raw onion breath will kill the relationship. We swapped the ham for jalepenos. Wow! Who wants to eat ¼-inch thick 1-inch dia pieces of raw jalaps? Crust was cooked, but just plain and bland; no taste or flavor, no 800 degree brick oven char-taste here. Did I mention ordering? There was a «server in training» following ours who had a blank look on her face and crossed arms(had the why-the-F###-am-I-here-look) every time the team stopped by; a little uncomfortable for your guests, really. Service from the primary server wasn’t bad, but for the second night, you would think the manager/owner would have been largely present or walking the tables asking how everything was. Nope. I would also not recommend sitting in the front half of the restaurant(sit past the kitchen or you will be cold) until spring, as the cold air from outside sweeps in each time someone opens the door and the staff at the hostess counter were wearing coats, which also seemed like a bad impression of the cozy factor. There are TVs in each booth and surf/ocean boardwalk décor. Not sure how the TVs fit in with the boardwalk experience. Obviously, they need to work out some kinks. We were pretty disappointed and wanted to like this new neighborhood spot, but will be getting pizza from the faves like Pie, Este or elsewhere in the future.

F2R I think they just unlocked the doors. I’ll edit this after we eat.(The pizza for the price looks delicious.) Kind of quiet with the service staff standing around. This used to be Rasputin-a little cover for some ethnic mafia. Now the space is filled with surf famiglia homies right here in sugarhood. How cool is that. Not so sure, but I hope the $ 1211 incher is as tasty as an Italian stallion on a surf board. OK so, yes, this place is the new go-to joint in the hood for delicious pizza. There’s enough for two in a small pizza and it’s as tasty as the aforementioned stallion.
