Had the chicken fajitas. They were excellent! Chips also salsa were very good too. Staff friendly and pricing is fair. Recommended.

I lived in El Paso for 7 years. El Paso food is more northern Mexico than Tex-Mex since it is right on the border of the city of Juarez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The food here is exactly like the food there. It makes me miss El Paso and the food here is very close to what I would get there. I love the salsa here, especially since they use fresh cilantro in it. I really enjoy their chile rellenos. Overall, it’s my favorite Mexican place in the area(a lot probably has to do with how close it is to the Mexican food I am used to).

While I love eating here, I was shocked tonight to discover that when I paid for my meal, there was an «admin fee» tacked on at the register. I guess now if you pay with a debit or credit card, there is an extra charge for that. I wish I had known BEFORE deciding to go there. I have been there many times before and paid with my debit card. It was explained to me that they just got a new system. PLEASEPUTUPSIGNS to let your customers know. At least the gas stations post the difference between cash and cards — so you know before you start filling up.

I really love the food here. The staff is courteous and it is usually pretty clean. I actually crave the food here sometimes. They make a quesidilla as big as your head stuffed with shrimp, onions, tomatoes, and cheese. It’s great. I’ve only had one bad experience there where we waited for over an hour for our food even when they werent all that busy, but most of the time my experience has been good.

I really love the food here. The Burrito California is delicious. Staff is exactly what I like in waiters/waitresses. Not overly hovering but still attentive. Great place, like the atmosphere, and definitely recommend.

Great, friendly staff with delicious and cheap Mexican food. They’re enchiladas and frozen margaritas are amazing. Mi Zarape is very family friendly and will be the new family favorite.

The food always comes very hot! They also serve Jarritos — a Mexican soda, which I personally love with the tacos platter. They have a great spicy enchilada in addition to a great big burrito! The plates have enough to satisfy your taste buds, and they make really good tomato rice. One of my favorite Mexican places ever!

I’m really not sure how they stay open. This might be real Mexican to a Mexican, but other than the breakfast, it’s pretty poor. They only offer breakfast on weekdays until 2 o’clock, and we would go in when they opened on Sunday mornings and the waiters had no problem serving it, but one Sunday they stopped, and wanted us to order full Taco/burrito/enchilada dinners at 11:00 a.m. and since we don’t think much of their recipes for those things we’ve moved on.

Love this place. Fajitas for two can feed a family of 4. Very tasty. Service is good. Love their salsa and chips. Not sure what authentic Mexican is, but this compares with most places I have eaten in Michigan. Prices very reasonable. Continue to visit frequently.

Food quality & taste — 2.5 /5 Staff service & friendliness — 1.5 /5 Atmosphere — 2.5 /5 Food price — 1.5 /5 Ugh! I am not a huge fan of Mexican food but my mom is so I went with her for lunch one day and had a horrible experience. We got such a sketchy vibe from this place, we vowed to never go back. My mom got some sort of burrito and I asked the waiter if it would be okay if I could get the nuggets off the kids menu since I wasn’t really hungry. He stared at us strangely and told me that it would be an extra charge. I had heard of that before for adults ordering kids meals so I was fine with it. I then asked if they had any mayonnaise and he said no. When we got our food, we were so disgusted. My mom said her burrito didn’t have any flavor and the consistency was just runny and gross. Even though I got charged $ 7 and some cents for my meal, I only got FOUR nuggets and seriously about ten fries. I swear I’m not exaggerating. There was nothing special about them — they were just microwaved. We never saw our waiter again after he brought us our food until he came up to us about 20 minutes after he brought our food and set down a little cup of what looked like ranch dressing and left. We assumed it was the mayonnaise that I had asked for but it didn’t look like it — the taste was even undistinguishable. When we went to pay, we realized that even though my meal was already $ 7, they had charged us another $ 2 for the little cup of «mayonnaise» that they brought. We were so shocked. The bill was $ 15 for four nuggets, some fries, and my mom’s very normal-sized burrito. My kids meal was even more expensive than her meal after it was done.

Fast service and perfectly good Mexican. Yeah, I’ve had better, but I think this is a great place to stop in for lunch. No complaints.

Have always had a great experience with Mi Zarape either dine-in or take-out. I just wish they would cook more with red peppers in addition to green peppers :) My wife and I usually dine here at least once every other week. Make sure they include your tortillas if you get take-out :)

I ate here for lunch with a group of family members once. It is a nice atmosphere BUT there was a soccer game on and the entire staff had a hard time keeping their eyes off of the TV. I felt like I was imposing on them. The food was HORRIBLE. It looked and tasted like a microwavable meal from the frozen section at your local supermarket. Not to mention It came out faster then I could blink, which makes me think it really was a frozen meal. Not recommended ATALL. Unless your wanting a in and out meal that you could have heated up at home but didn’nt feel like doing it yourself.

Ick. The restaurant itself seemed clean. That’s the only good thing I have to say. Waitstaff did the bare minimum for their jobs, and nothing more. They were not friendly and it made us a little uncomfortable. The food was not good. The cheese was liquid… and not the good kind. My meal came to the table looking like a sticky mess on a bare plate. There was clearly no attempt to make it look interesting or appetizing. Other members of our table said their food was«OK” — but certainly not worth what they charge for it. Margaritas were like syrup. We will not be going back.

Excellent customer service! Someone was always swinging by to see if we needed anything. The food was pretty good, but the salsa and queso stood out most!

Poor customer service — the waiter barely said more than he had to, tossed our plates on the table, and didn’t come back to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything. He didn’t even comeback to give us the bill. We had chicken fajitas, which were pretty good. Although the chips were stale and the salsa was nothing to remember. So I would’ve rated this place one star for poor customer service and a pricey menu. But gave it one more star for at least having tasteful fajitas. I wouldn’t go back and I would’t recommend.

Had a pleasant time here meeting friends for lunch. The chips and salsa were stale and tasteless, but the shrimp quesadilla was good and not over-cheesed. Staff was quick and attentive. The place is very kid-friendly. Families were stopping by and ordering corn dogs for the kids and they seemed happy digging into the food.

I agree that this is not authentic mexican food. I also agree that it is most probably prepackaged. Having said that I will also say that, it was both tasty and flavorful. I certainly wouldn’t make a special trip to eat here. But, if in the area I would most likely stop back. I do recommend giving the Texas Margarita a try. They are made with a hit of Grand Marnier and pack a punch that sneaks up. This is a third location that has opened, with the original being in Pontiac and another located in Southfield. I must say that management is clearly lacking. The waitstaff is mildy attentive, not friendly and is actually somewhat distant.

The salsa was delicious! That’s about the only good thing I can say. The chorizo in the quesadilla was burnt, the rice was bland, the tacos were«Taco Bell”-like, and the enchiladas were just okay. The service was not very good. We had to corral the waitress to bring more salsa. She never stopped by to ask how things were, just kept passing us by. Sorry, we wanted to like it, but we won’t be back.
