Tapioca Delight

This is the best boba café in Salinas. The store has a couple of seats and tables for customers to play games, and just have a good time hanging out. The workers are always friendly. I never experienced bad customer service at Tap Ex.
I usually get the taro-​coconut milk tea with boba. I highly recommend this flavor to anyone who wants to be a bit adventurous!

One of my go to spots in this area for boba! Though not the highest quality of drinks, it gets the job done and is satisfying regardless! My go to is coconut taro with boba. The fact that there’s usually a very short wait is always a plus!

Location: it’s right by job so it’s convenient it’s kinda in the middle of everything
Workers: they were very helpful for the most part except when I ask the guy if it was honey boba he was not sure how to respond.
Drink: the drink itself I was not satisfy at all. I could taste the artificial flavoring to much. Plus I got Matcha green tea and it was already blended. No Bueno
Tip: I was not impressed by their boba, and their drink I sadly will not be going back.

This is my second review, because the last time I went the young girl just poured more ice into my drink because they did not measure correctly. I decided to give this place a chance again, and they literally just ruined the idea of customers and the product they sell. I would give them negative stars if possible. Busy again, as usual on a Sunday. Waited for 5 minutes at the desk and we were greeted by a young lady, we asked can we order a halo-​halo. She turned to her co-​worker, and asked if he has time to make it, he said we are kind of busy (in my head, obviously) and the girl said, sorry we can’t make it??? Seriously? It is one of your products, we were more than willing to wait the 20 mins, and she tells us sorry we can’t make it? Why don’t you just tell us, you ran out of the ingredients. They pretty much told us no we will not sell the product that we advertise because we are too busy. If every restaurant on a busy day said that, that business would lose customers. For sure, I shall never return to that place and I will tell my network of people to not go to that store, since they are not willing to sell the product they sell. I would also want to see them off the discount card high schools sell because they don’t abide by it either. Really and truly disappointed. It’s not the owner fault, but the students she hires and when there is no supervision they seem to do what they want.

Their drinks were good but it would have been 5 stars if the lady staff showed a friendly attitude towards me. No greetings at all. I went in earlier and the one I wanted was unavailable because she said they were out of the condensed milk (which I totally understand) but did not even care to apologize. She was just sitting down and chatting with her coworkers the entire time I was there.

Drinks are made out of powder.
Halo halo. They use vanilla ice cream Instead of specialty Filipino ones. They made my halo halo with regular milk not evaporated like I’m used to… Beans sugar palm jelly (kaong) coconut jelly (nata de coco) ice milk ice cream topped with jackfruit. Where’s the leche flan? Where’s the Filipino banana (saba) where’s the coconut strips. Hmmm
Thumbs down.

This place is a must when you’re in the area. Especially after getting pizza from the Little Caesars close by. I love the Mango slushie. It’s so sweet and fills me up. Service is great and the wait is never too long.

I’ve only been there once but the place was great. I liked their green tea matcha slushy best but all their flavors are really good too.

This is one of my favorite boba place cause I’ve tried a few places in Monterey and the one in the mall and this place makes the drink taste good compared to how the other places make it. The original milk tea seem to taste better here. Customer service used to be great when they first open and two employees knew me cause I came in often I really enjoyed going in. However, the customer service now with the new employees can be bad sometimes and you can feel that they are annoyed when someone comes in.
A month ago I went in and the 4 – 5 employees were just sitting playing candy land and the girl who, I guess was the one assigned to do the register makes an annoyed face that I came in. The most rudest thing was she moves her lips expressing the words «S#&%!».!like really you are going to express that word when a customer walks in and you look straight at me. This make me have going there cause I always have to think if I’m going to be welcomed or just felt like I’m wasting the employees time.
I work in HR and working in previous jobs that customer services is strongly stressed I take customer services seriously. and having the feeling of not being wanted or wasting employees time makes me think that the manager or supervisor needs to stress on customer service or that there needs to be a supervisor present at all times to make sure the employees are aware they are working and need to treat customers well.
There are times when I go in and the person at the register is just drawing. Kinda weird cause you are at work and you don’t see other jobs with people at the register doing homework or what ever.
They need a supervisor or shift leader to watch over them.

My drink was flavoredless and they weren’t willing to exchange it for another one. Well that sucks for me

They got good selection of flavors. But sometimes to pack and 1 register/​cashier doesn’t work to well when in a rush

The customer is the worst I seen since segregation in the U.S. Plus, the drinks are made out of powder. I recommend going to real place to get it. I bought the honey dew smoothie. I promise to help that I will never come back and wish I can get a refund.

My first time coming to tapioca delight & I love halo halo but what they serve is so far from halo halo. They literally put half of the cup of the actual drink and it wasn’t even icy it was watery. I’m so disappointed, I wish I would’ve saved my money and gotten REAL halo halo.

I used to come here all the time because this place is the only place that actually makes the boba and it appears to be bubble tea house. However, after moving to SJ and trying out real bubble tea instead of powder teas, I realized that this bubble tea is not that good at all. Whenever I visit Monterey, I don’t have place to drink bubble tea, which is really upsetting. Also, I once tried their milk tea, which was really bad that I wouldn’t recommend it. However, their workers are really nice and friendly, which I would come back for it :)

Idk why people were giving 1-​star reviews just because of bad customer service. Especially since they’re new, cut ‘em some slack!
I’m from Santa Clara and my boyfriend and I were on the way home from Monteray and we wanted some boba and this place was the closest thing to Monteray.
We used GPS to get there and couldn’t find the place. So I called them and they were SOO nice and gave me directions from where I was!
I do agree that their prices were a little high especially for a small original milk tea. But I gotta admit it was pretty good!
Their milk tea is VERY different from bay area milk tea! It’s really good and it would be awesome if they could open one in the San Jose area.
Sad that this place is so far :(But I would definitely coke back if I was going to Monteray.

I always get the taro milk tea, but it’s usually too sweet or too bland. sometimes I get lucky and it’s just right, but it should always be good enough everytime. The jasmine milk tea is delicious. Needs more honey at times though.
