The day before delivering my recently sold beloved VW Jetta to its new owner I realized that I needed a smog check before the new owner could transfer the title(the car had been smogged 8 months before – 2 months over the 6 months allowed by the DMV). A panicked phone call on a Sunday afternoon to Dick’s Service was answered and I was told to bring the car down early the next morning and that they would try and squeeze me in. I showed up early and had to wait a bit for them to open(they arrived a few minutes after the posted opening time). Once they arrived I pleaded my case and they happily agreed to smog the car for me. I was able to stand and watch the technician perform the smog check(I’m pretty picky about who gets to work on my car.) and was on my way in about 20 minutes. The shop was fairly clean and organized and has moved from the service station(now a Valero) on 101 at 156 to a shopping center location just across the freeway off of San Miguel Canyon Road. The location is safe and comfortable(we live nearby) and I would consider them for future service needs.
