Fantastic book store! They had many items which I have not seen at other book stores since we all know it is not just books we hunt for at book stores but also those strange little things on random shelves here and there.

For many a year, this location has been known for books bound in paper, cloth, and leather but, in the end, wrapped up in love. The towering piles of books known to this properly have long since gone, and the establishment in it’s place makes up for it by providing a calm and fluid customer support system that would make the large chains jealous. Sure, the shelves may seem smaller now, but they can order whatever you’d like, and are also so knowledgeable about the texts featured prominently in their shop, it’s almost as if the towing literary monoliths still stand. Salem has long needed an outstanding book outlet to compete with the chains that stand omnipresent on the outskirts of the city, and Wicked Good Books not only stands up to the competition, but also proves that the greatest things sometimes come in the smallest corners of the city.

So glad to see others describe this place as «charming» because that’s exactly what it is! I would have loved to spend more time here exploring their selection of books on Salem. Good balance of books, new and used AND quirky knick knacks. Loved it!

Every time I’m taking a walk in downtown Salem I stop in here and I always end up finding a book I didn’t expect. They have a lot of local history books and a cute little kids section. I always end up finding a treasure here. The owner was really nice and interacted with my daughter about the different children’s books. They also have used books for wicked cheap. Always worth a stop!

Charming and lovely bookstore in the center of Salem’s downtown. A nice mix of old and new, of bestsellers and unexpected treasures. The shop itself is well thought-out, and the owners make the most of a historic setting with fine windows and antique fireplaces. Definitely worth a leisurely browse when visiting Salem.
