Reasonable sushi bar in Salem, I would call it the best one in Salem. Worth it to try if you want to stay around in Salem for Sushi

IMPORTANTNOTE: I rated based on personal preference, nothing against the actual quality of the food. Look, the service is friendly and prompt, and some of the items are pretty good. However, if you’re going to be a sushi place, a big thing you presumably serve is sushi rolls. I couldn’t eat mine. Again, it’s a personal preference thing. The Nori was just too thick. I don’t like the flavor of Nori, but I can handle it when it’s hidden inside a roll. However, it was so thick that it was chewy so I was left with it still in my mouth after I had consumed the rest of the sushi roll. I only had a few pieces of my roll because I just couldn’t. A nice place overall, and if you are not like me and LIKE the flavor of Nori, you’ll be all about Tiga! Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.

The food was 3 stars, good sushi, but not the best we’ve had. We had the Oregon Roll, the fried Cali Roll, and the Hot Roll. I chose to give 4 stars because I was very impressed with the service. We walked in 30 minutes before closing and were greeted warmly and served without feeling rushed. Everything came out fast so we were out of there in a half hour anyway.

Overall a decent sushi place. The Gyoza is served with sweet chili sauce instead of the normal Gyoza sauce. The sushi is pretty good and average priced for Salem. The teriyaki salmon dinner was just average, on par with a dinner from shari’s.

I went here as a recommendation from a friend who said it was the best sushi in town. The service was mediocre, the sushit rolls were barely formed and halfway fallen apart when they came to us. I think momijis makes better sushi but thier miso soup was the best thing i ate.

In my Top 3 of sushi places in Salem! Great selection of fresh delicious sushi. Good presentation and good service. I tried new things and loved it all, can’t wait to come back and try more of their big menu. It’s nice to know I don’t have to drive all the way to Portland to find good sushi now.

My husband and I were disappointed last night with our dinner. We have been to Tiga a couple different times once in Dallas and then when they moved to the Salem location. We were impressed those two times which then brought us back. This time we were unhappy but finished our food and decided that this is just not the place to come back. It was a nice Saturday night but noticed the restaurant was not at all busy for a dinner time — should have been a clue. The rolls were more rice than seafood and the wasabi had no «kick» to it. We filled up quickly due to eating mostly rice and not much flavor to speak of. I have read the other reviews and wished I would have had some of the tasty rolls they speak of. Maybe our night was one of those«off» nights not sure but don’t think I will spend my money again attempting to make a right.

I enjoyed the sushi the first couple of times I came here, but there was something off tonight. I ordered the Hot Roll and the Thunder Roll, both listed as having jalapeños in them. However, I was disappointed to see that they used pickled jalapeños instead of fresh jalapeños, which completely altered the taste of the sushi and the fish. Was not my best experience here because of this reason. I will still come back, but I will be avoiding any rolls with jalapeños in them until I know they are fresh.

This is the best sushi I have had in a very long time. Creative, flavorful and completely unique. The from the Double Dragon to the deep fried Mazama(I know, i know). Omg I loved every roll we tried. People were great, friendly and professional. Great experience!

Exellent sushi, very fresh. I haven’t deviated from their selection of rolls. But what I have had was really good. Service is decent and price is normal for what you would pay for sushi.

I am a lover of sushi bars but this place is by far the best that I have visited here in Salem! Their sushi is very, very, very good. I have never had sushi combined with so many different complimenting flavors, and I’m from Hawaii… That’s saying something. Their staff was very friendly, and everyone greeted us and said goodbye to us. It was a very friendly atmosphere. The are more expensive than places like Momijis but at the same time you are getting more flavorful sushi for your money. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Fantastic! The sushi was very fresh! The menu is huge-there are so many choices! We loved the spicy roll-it was just the right heat. They also have a great beer and saki selection to choose from :)

Went down here on a date because we were told by a few people how great this place was. We both thought it was a horrible experience, the rolls were not that great for the price(12 a roll). They had barely any décor on the walls, IKEA cheap furnature that was uncomfortable to even want to be there longer than 15 mins. watched a couple leave after 20 mins of sitting there without being helped. we will never return

My friend and I came here around 2:30 pm on a Wednesday to grab some lunch. It was dead. The place is huge but we were the only ones there. Eventually a few more people showed up, but the atmosphere was still very inviting. We decided to split about 5 different rolls because we LOVE sushi and can eat a ton. Little did we know their portions are so big! We got the Hot Roll, Rough and Ready Roll, Spicy Tuna, Spider Roll, and a classic California Roll. Each roll had about 6 – 8 pieces. The Hot Roll was probably one of my favorites; the seared tuna on top of the roll was INCREDIBLE! The smokey flavor really complimented the jalapeño. The Rough and Ready Roll(which we got because the name was so fun) was another favorite, because who doesn’t like deep fried anything? Now the classics: spider roll, spicy tuna, and California — all incredible. I know they’re pretty basic rolls, but they used a light sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds on top of the rolls that really elevated the dish as a whole. The five rolls plus the tall bottle of house sake that we got came to an even $ 50. Not bad for splitting with a friend and getting a ton of booze at the same time! If I ever go back to Salem, I will definitely show up here again. I was not disappointed at all.

2nd review: this is the 3rd time we have tried it eat here! Finally got to try their food. We had a few rolls and other Japanese fare. The rolls were good but a bit expensive. The yakisoba was not very good. 1st review: We were seated quickly and then nothing for 30 solid minutes no water, no drink orders –nothing! The restaurant wasn’t even crowded and there were dirty messy tables. People seated after us already had drinks, so we left. Maybe once I’m not annoyed I will come back and try the food if I can get served.

Best sushi in Salem. Beautiful presentations and the freshest fish. Tempura is light and delicate. Rolls have more goodies than rice in them. The specialty rolls have awesome combinations of ingredients and a huge selection so there is something for everyone. I like that the menu of beers and wines actually has things worth drinking on there. Plus very friendly service.
